Across the whole world, cultivators were grappling with monsters as part of their trials.
On orders of the monster patriarch, the monsters had already organized an army to search for Austin and his friends.
More and more powerful monsters joined the search, relentlessly augmenting their army and battling the cultivators they
encountered. The cultivators were beginning to feel like they were in deep trouble.
Sof them had already been brutally slaughtered, while sof those who survived fled in various directions of the universe.
The patriarch and the senior leaders of the monsters were especially powerful fighters, able to kill earth immortals within minutes.
At this point in the battle, the monsters clearly had the upper hand.
Scultivators had already chosen to crush their jade badges, transporting themselves out, fearing for their lives.
Sof the stronger ones, however, opted to leave because they had already racked up five thousand points, enough to pass the
trial and move on to the next.
Most of those who had already completed this round were, predictably, either earth immortals or outstanding young geniuses from
the major forces.
The rest who had yet to finish started to band together to be able to kill monsters more efficiently.
Each of these contingents consisted of at least ten million cultivators. The battlefield was packed with combatants.
Outside the Primordial Road, the Purple Cosmos was likewise starting to get overcrowded.
People were gathering, in particular, at the abandoned continent at the edge of the universe. This continent, after all, was where
the entrance of the secret passage was located. Many powerful sects had sent their people to keep watch at the site.
The cultivators who had entered the passage were also expected to cback the sway, so there were those awaiting their
return.
But four or five days after their entry, astonishing news broke out across the continent.
This cafter sof the cultivators began teleporting back in steady succession, increasing in number as days went by.
What the returnees said shocked those assembled in wait outside. The passage was actually the Primordial Road itself!
The astonishing news sent the whole universe abuzz.
The Primordial Road was one of those legends mentioned in books passed down from ancient times.
It was said that the ancient road was created by the gods in ancient times, designed to test cultivators who had the potential to
join their ranks.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIn the beginning, the road and its trials were open to all the various universes, encompassing the three thousand big worlds and
the three thousand small worlds. All the young warriors willing to undergo the trials could enter the Road of God-to-be.
However, the Primordial Road simply vanished at spoint in time. No one knew what had happened to it.
The Primordial Road's location had remained unknown since its disappearance.
But now, here it was! No one expected that the dark passage was actually the Primordial Road!
The news had the major sects of the universe scrambling to send more and more of their best cultivators to the Purple Cosmos.
As a result, the abandoned continent where the passage was located becmobbed by even more visitors.
Numerous elite cultivators from the major sects started to post themselves at the entrance of the dark passage, conducting in-
depth studies of it.
Many Divine Realm cultivators cto the edge of the Purple Cosmos, too, tapping into their spiritual senses to probe the
passage's interiors.
"What's going on inside? Tell us every detail!"
Everyone who transported back was immediately surrounded by the cultivators waiting outside.
From the returnees’ reports, those assembled in wait began to get sidea of what the Primordial Road entailed.
The Primordial Road consisted of nine sections, each one designed with a special trial. The difficulty of the trial increased as one
progressed through the sections.
Increased difficulty meant greater risk, but also greater opportunities. The rewards were more generous the further one got down
the road.
Whoever passed all the nine trials would be deemed as having the potential to be a deity, and would somehow be selected as the
successor of god.
As this initial information spread, an old man in yellow robes, apparently blind, stepped out of the crowd and gave a little cough. "I
have cto sconclusions, if | may,"
he announced to all those gathered.
"It's you, Romani! So you also chere. What else do you know of the Primordial Road? Do you have a prophecy about it?"
The crowd now turned all their attention to the old man, waiting with bated breath for him to respond.
Even the martial arts masters from the major sects tripped all over themselves to get nearer to him and hear him better.
Romani, after all, was renowned across various universes.
He was famous for being able to predict the future. He seemed to be able to foresee anything under the heavens by correctly
calculating how events would develop.
There were many people who had sharp foresight.
Romani, however, was the only one who was so precisely accurate he becconsidered somewhat of a prophet.
The details had been lost to time, but it was said he once predicted something important for several Divine Realm cultivators.
When it happened exactly as he foretold, he completely won the Divine Realm cultivators over. From then on, he commanded their
respect.
And so he becwell-known, garnering admiration and awe from everyone, down from the ordinary folk and up to the strongest
warriors. Everyone listened to what he had to say.
That was what was happening again now, as the noise died down and silence spread throughout the crowd awaiting Romani's
revelations. It grew so quiet one could hear a pin drop.
"This secret passage is indeed the Primordial Road.
It would seem that the Primordial Road and the door to the Gods' Hometown appear at the stime. There is a connection
between them.
The Primordial Road is a road full of the harshest trials for the gods to screen their successors.
The Gods' Hometown is the place where the gods live.
Their simultaneous appearance indicate that the gods are once again choosing their successors.
| foresee that whoever passes all nine trials of the Primordial Road would be able to find the door to the Gods' Hometown and enter
that sacred place. They will beca disciple of the divine gods, and will be well on their way to bectheir successors!
The appearance of the Primordial Road and the Gods' Hometown are proof that there still are divine gods somewhere out there.
And they are also proof of their manner of choosing their successors!"
Romani pronounced with confidence.
As he finished, the crowd started to buzz.
Excited chattering broke out across the continent.
"| think he's right. The divine gods have cto the world again, and they are ready to choose their successors!"
"So that's how the Gods' Hometown works! Our ancestors just conjectured that the Gods' Hometown has something to do with the
divine gods and their intention of choosing their successors.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAnd now we know those rumors about the Primordial Road are true!
I have no doubt that Romani is correct!"
People on the continent were all wrapped up in discussions, mostly convinced of what Romani said.
Outside the Purple Cosmos, the Divine Realm cultivators suspended in the chaotic void were likewise mulling over his words.
"What do you think of all this?
Is he right? Does this mean the gods have returned? We have been seeking them out for so long,"
a Divine Realm cultivator asked his companions.
"Romani's predictions are unparalleled in their accuracy. | would believe whatever he says,"
one of his peers replied.
"But | have my doubts.
Anything that involves the gods is confidential, intentionally shrouded in mystery. Could their actions really be predicted?
And if what Romani says is true, he would be revealing the secrets of the gods. Then why haven't they punished him yet?"
another Divine Realm warrior pointed out.
Hardly had he finished this, a disturbance broke out in the continent.
Boom! Thunder started rolling in the heavens.
A thick bolt of lightning flashed in the sky, then sped down to the crowd.
"My god!" Romani was paralyzed in fear at the sight.
His face lost all color at this terrible sight. As a good prophet, he had a bad omen.
