Chapter 1919

Hannah watched him, noting the careful motion of his hands and the way his long eyelashes seemed to shield

his emotions.

Bryson rarely displayed his feelings openly, yet Hannah sensed a deep sorrow within him at that moment.

She placed her hand over his, offering warmth and connection.

“Then I'll learn from you.

I'll play for you.

“Okay,” he responded softly.

After finishing the piece, Bryson released Hannah's hand and escorted her to a table set away from the piano.

The table was meticulously prepared, Lending an air of formality to their dinner.

Hannah looked up at Bryson, feeling his mood had somewhat lightened, and ventured a question.

“How did you find the tto arrange all this today?”

“It’s nearly finished.

The Moreno family is struggling.

Their financial foundations are weakening rapidly.

Hannah hadn't anticipated the swift progression.

“I thought the Moreno family could withstand a bit longer.

“It seemed likely at one point,” Bryson mused as he picked up his wine glass, offering it to Hannah for a toast.

Their glasses met with a clear, resonant clink, echoing through the quiet of the evening.

Bryson gazed at Hannah with appreciation.

“We owe a lot to Merlin and Layne.

Without their intervention, the rest of Muvrand wouldn't have dared to abandon the Moreno family.

Now, even the Moreno family’s alliances in Valmere are crumbling.

Brodie on his own can’t sustain the Moreno Group for long.

Hannah raised her glass, her smile broadening.

“Then here's to our success,” she toasted.

After they had dined and the sky had darkened, Hannah suggested they visit Franco.

Since both had consumed alcohol, Bryson signaled to his bodyguard to fetch the car from the parking lot.

The night was brisk, and a cold wind whipped around them.

Bryson, noticing Hannah shiver, draped his coat over her shoulders.

“The wind’s picking up.

Wear my coat,” he said, adjusting it around her.

“Thank you,” Hannah replied, lifting her eyes to thank Bryson.

But her words caught in her throat as she noticed a car speeding toward them.

“Watch out,” she exclaimed, her voice sharp with urgency.

In an instant, her grip tightened around Bryson, pulling him back just as they reached the restaurant's door.

They burst through it, tumbling together and rolling twice across the floor in a tight embrace.

Bang! Boom!

A loud crash followed by a massive explosion resonated outside, shaking the restaurant's windows and

scattering shards of glass everywhere.
