Chapter 4222
i’ll look for the children right after I finish with you, Sect Master."
"Alright!" Skylar nodded, feeling incomparably light.
He had his back toward Kendall and thus did not see the expression on her face.
Kendall left after she had served Skylar.
A sinister smile appeared on Kendall's face as she walked out of the Prayer Tower.
She would look for the children, but she would give them a little something before she
brought them back. Kendall had decided to rebel against Skylar.
She was bound to Skylar via the fiend blood contract, and it would take a lot more than
killing him to break it. However, she knew that the only way out was to let Skylar lose
control completely. Since he was cultivating the Devil Nightmare, it was an excellent
opportunity to do that.
Half an hour later, Kendall arrived outside the royal city.
Almost a hundred men were already waiting in the forest. They were the Five Poison Sect's
elite members.
At the sight of Kendall, the Five Poison Sect members rushed to greet her in unison. "At
your service, Sect Master."

Kendall nodded; her expression was unmoving as she spoke lightly. "Heed my order-find
me 20 children.
"Remember, you must bring them here to me before midnight."
Her voice was not loud, but it left no room for doubt.
"Yes, Sect Master."
As the words rang through the air, the Five Poison Sect members called out in
acknowledgment before soaring off into the royal city.
Two hours later, the members returned with the children in tow. Those children were from
various social backgrounds, but they looked equally fearful. Some of their faces were
deathly pale, shocked beyond words.
Some of them were bawling their eyes out, screaming as they cried.
"I want my mother!"
'I want to go home. I want to go home!"
Kendall frowned at the incessant sobs; she felt impatient. Yet, she managed to hold back.
"Why are you crying? Keep it up, and I'll throw you into the river." One of the Five Poison
Sect members spat with a ferocious expression on his face.
The children became more scared at the shouting. That made them cry even harder.
The Five Poison Sect member pulled out a whip. He moved forward, ready to teach the
children a lesson.
"Stand back."
Kendall roared, "How hard is it to do something so simple? Why are you so useless? How
am I going to use the children if you beat them up?"
"You're right. You're right..." The member looked remorseful as he scrambled to put the
whip away.
Kendall did not speak any further. She turned and smiled at the children.
At the sight of such a beautiful woman, the children's jaws dropped as their tears ceased
immediately, and their eyes grew round with wonder.
"Children."
Kendall opened her mouth, speaking with a smile on her face. "Don't worry. I'm not going
to hurt you. We're members of a powerful sect, and we've been looking for new, skilled
members. We've brought you all here today because we think you have the talent to join
US."

A powerful sect?
The children's eyes grew even rounder at those words, the fear in their hearts dissipating.

Everyone they knew spoke highly of those sects. They were often referred to as heroes
who made the world a better place. They would never pick on children.
Seeing their nerves visibly soothe, Kendall smiled as she spoke. "That's right, don't be
scared. Would you like to join our sect and become a cultivator?"
All at once, the 20 children exchanged nervous glances with each other. None of them
dared to speak for a while.
At last, a boy no older than six or seven years old stepped forward courageously to
respond to Kendall. "Yes, I've always dreamed of becoming a cultivator to rid the world of
evil."
The other children spoke up too, and their fear had dissipated as well.
"Me too."
"Can I join your sect?"
"Is this a trick?"
