Chapter 4234
As he spoke, Robert stepped forward with a sincere expression. ’I will be honest with you, Marshal.
My sect master is one of Darryl Darby's lovers, indeed, but Darryl Darby has gone missing for two
months now. On top of that, we have an unspoken rule within the Hidden Hero Sect that sect
masters can no longer engage in romantic affairs upon acquiring their position.
"What I'm implying is that my sect master and Darryl Darby are as good as strangers now. The New
World Royals joining the fiend race and wreaking havoc on the Nine Mainland is also a huge deal. My
sect master sent US here to help with the bigger picture in mind."
Robert's tone grew with emotion as he reached the end of his speech. "I've said what I needed to
say. If you still can't trust US, we'll just head back and report to our sect master."
That was far from what Robert intended. He watched Gonggong closely for a reaction.
Gonggong's eyebrows knitted at the words as she fell into silent thoughts.
Robert's words made sense. There was no reason for her not to believe him.
At the same time, the other generals began mumbling among themselves.
"How gracious of Debra Gable."
"Of course. She is the Artemis Sect's former Sect Master from the Great East."
"What a goddess! I can't believe she fell for someone like Darryl Darby.”
Then, one of the generals came forward to speak to Gonggong. "The Hidden Hero Sect
seems extremely sincere with their assistance, Marshal.
I don't think we should turn down their help since they came all the way here."
The other generals nodded in agreement, as well.
Gonggong did not hesitate any further, nodding as she called out to Robert. "Precautions
are necessary for such tense situations like this. I hope you did not mind my questions."
Gonggong smiled as she spoke. She had decided to let her guard down.
Since Gonggong no longer suspected him, Robert could hardly contain his glee. Yet he
managed to maintain an expression of extreme humility on his face. "Of course not, Great
Marshal. It would be our honor to be of your assistance."
Robert felt as if a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
He finally got Gonggong's trust; he did not let Lord Kenny down.
Gonnggong nodded again as she called out orders to a general named Nigel Doe. "Make
sure Robert and the rest of the Hidden Hero Sect warriors are tended to with care. Bring
them somewhere they can rest for now, and take them around the royal city in the
morning so they can get to know the place's layout."
"Yes, Marshal," Nigel called out in acknowledgment and ushered Robert and his men away.
"General!"
Once they got outside, Robert's gaze sparkled with a sinister glint. He turned to Nigel to
say, "We can rest later. Could you bring us around the royal city first and let US check out
the defense layout?"
The point of infiltrating the royal city was to gain intel to assist their army in attacking the
royal city. Of course, there was no time for rest.
Nigel's face creased with doubt at the request. "I don't think that'd be the right thing for
me to do. The Great Marshal might reprimand me for not taking good care of all of you if
she finds out."
Robert broke into laughter and shook his head. "We're here to help with the defense army, not for a
vacation. Why would the Marshal fault you for that?
At the look of sincerity on his face, Nigel finally nodded. He could not help the impressed

truly deserve the reputation you have."
Nigel led Robert and his men around the royal city, showing them the defense layout.
They quickly reached the South Gate. Nigel smiled and said, "The New World Royals are right
outside. Their camps are all within a little over ten kilometers away. Laying down defense here would
be the best idea. Come take a look."
Robert smiled wordlessly, a sharp contrast to the glee that flooded the rest of his senses. The
ultimate goal of breaking into the royal city was to open the South Gate. Then, they could
communicate on both ends and let the New World Royals straight in there.
The next second, Robert landed a blow as quick as lightning onto Nigel's back while he was not
paying attention. Nigel was caught entirely off guard and did not manage to react in time. After he
painted the air with fresh blood, he fell to the floor, lifeless.
"You-'
Then, the surrounding guards flared up in a rage.
However, Robert did not give them a single chance to retaliate. Instead, he raised his palms and
shouted, "Attack!"
As the order rang through the air, the few hundred men behind him charged forward, starting a
fierce battle with the North Gate guards.
