Chapter 10: ????? Joshua stopped midway, his heart dropping as he recalled Caden's disheveled appearance moments ago, along with the cold, menacing look Caden had given him.

A feeling of unease gnawed at his insides. Once the thought took root, it spread like wildfire, burning through his mind.

Could Alice be the woman Caden was talking about? As they left the CEO's office, Lilliana grabbed Joshua's arm, pulling him toward the elevator. "Joshua," Lilliana said quietly, her voice laced with trepidation. "I never imagined Caden could rise so quickly, becoming CEO of Blizzard Group. And did you see the way he looked at you? He obviously hasn't forgotten his grudge. My God, I'm shaking! He's so scary! I wouldn't dream of running into him! We'd better stop bothering him about the acquisition for now. And who knows? Maybe working under him will open up more opportunities for us..." Joshua's brow furrowed, his words barely echoing in his mind.

He agreed a couple of times before picking up the phone uneasily.

"I'm sorry, Lilliana. Something cup. "I'll catch up with you later." As he spoke, he dialed Alice's number.

However, what greeted her was a cold, robotic voice informing her that the number was not available. It turned out that she had blocked it.

Meanwhile, in the office, Alice got up from her hiding place and straightened her clothes.

He had heard it all and now he was starting to put two and two together.

"The woman Joshua was with, isn't she the famous pop singer, Lilliana Green?" Alice furrowed her eyebrows. The familiar name, “Lilliana,” resonated in her mind. The famous singer had deep connections in the entertainment world.

It had to be her. Lilliana Green had to be Joshua's new partner, in more ways than one.

Caden, still dazed from the pain, looked at her with sarcasm.

"Is your husband about to have a child with another woman and you still have no idea who it is?" Alice pursed her lips sadly.

Then, suddenly remembering the reason she had chere, she glanced at the bite mark on Caden's hand. The area was still red and swollen, but the wound had already begun to scab over.

Calculatingly, he relaxed his expression and let out a small sigh. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize I bit you so hard," he purred. "Hold on. "Letclean the wound." Surprised, Caden raised his eyebrows in curiosity. Looking into her beautiful, innocent eyes, his resolve wavered. "The medicine cabis in the cupboard." He even moved his chair away, making room for Alice to sit across from him.

Leaning back in his chair, he seemed relaxed, his eyes lazily following Alice's movements as she carefully tended to his wound.

As expected, after a moment of silence, Alice could not contain herself any longer.

"So you've acquired Lilliana's company. Does that mean you're taking her along too?" Caden smirked, easily reading the undertone of his question.

"Are you beggingto take care of her?" Alice's lips twitched in irritation.

"I refuse to beg. Besides, I know you won't helpanyway." "At least you're self-aware," he exclaimed, a hint of smugness in his voice.

His arrogance got on her nerves and she resisted the urge to roll her eyes.

Instead, he pressed the iodine-soaked cotton against his wound with a little more force than necessary, his own petty revenge.

But Caden didn't even flinch. His expression remained maddeningly calm.

"Con, press harder if you want. Just make sure the virus is completely eradicated." That? Couldn't he feel pain? With a sigh, Alice pulled off a band-aid, her patience running out.

"So," he asked again, more insistently this time, "are you going to stay with Lilliana or not?" Caden's lips curved into a sly smile, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

"If you don't want to, begand I will please you." Alice couldn't help but laugh, and the absurdity of it all brought a smile to her lips.

She looked at him with a raised eyebrow and a sarcastic tone.

"Why? She's incredibly popular, she sings beautifully, and if she promotes your products, she'll make you a fortune." Caden narrowed his eyes slightly, taking in his little schemes, but he was curious enough to play along.

"You think so?too." Alice stood up, dusting her hands off as if the conversation from a moment ago had nothing to do with her.

"That's it. Now, givemy ring." This time, Caden didn't hesitate.

Obediently, he placed the ring in her palm. However, just as she was about to withdraw her hand, he suddenly grabbed her wrist and roughly pulled her towards him.

The movement was so sudden that she barely had tto gasp before he leaned into her, his warm breath on her neck.

Then cthe sharp sting. Alice's body tensed and a gasp escaped her lips.

"Phew!" But the pain wasn't the worst part. It was the way his lips and teeth grazed her skin that he felt a chill through her that left her breathless and disoriented. This moron! Caden finally let go with a satisfied smirk, the light bite nothing more than a wicked reminder of who was in control. For the moment.

Alice pressed her hand against the bite mark, her cheeks flushed with a mixture of rage and embarrassment. Her eyes locked on him, but her fury only seemed to amuse him.

"What's with the violent reaction? Don't tellJoshua has never bitten you like that." Alice gritted her teeth in frustration, but she knew better than to confront him.
