Chapter 10: ????? Joshua stopped midway, his heart dropping as he recalled Caden's disheveled appearance moments ago, along with the cold, menacing look Caden had given him.

"So you've acquired Lilliana's company. Does that mean you're taking her along too?" Caden smirked, easily reading the undertone of his question.

His arrogance got on her nerves and she resisted the urge to roll her eyes.

Instead, he pressed the iodine-soaked cotton against his wound with a little more force than necessary, his own petty revenge.

But Caden didn't even flinch. His expression remained maddeningly calm.

"Con, press harder if you want. Just make sure the virus is completely eradicated." That? Couldn't he feel pain? With a sigh, Alice pulled off a band-aid, her patience running out.

"So," he asked again, more insistently this time, "are you going to stay with Lilliana or not?" Caden's lips curved into a sly smile, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

"Why? She's incredibly popular, she sings beautifully, and if she promotes your products, she'll make you a fortune." Caden narrowed his eyes slightly, taking in his little schemes, but he was curious enough to play along.

"Phew!" But the pain wasn't the worst part. It was the way his lips and teeth grazed her skin that he felt a chill through her that left her breathless and disoriented. This moron! Caden finally let go with a satisfied smirk, the light bite nothing more than a wicked reminder of who was in control. For the moment.

Alice pressed her hand against the bite mark, her cheeks flushed with a mixture of rage and embarrassment. Her eyes locked on him, but her fury only seemed to amuse him.
