Thrown Into A New World: Let The Punishment Begin!
Chapter 122 - Have A ConscienceChapter 122 - Have A Conscience
When Sullivan let out a sigh after hearing the words of their King, Duke Brodie had been observing him and had caught his subtle actions.
From the moment that he had entered the Throne room with the other men, he had been immensely curious about what this man had said to King Ophire in private.
'What could they have spoken about?' He wondered and did not like the fact that he was not included in whatever it was that these men had discussed.
Marquess Samed was unaware of the inherently curious man's thoughts and wiped the sweat that had appeared on his forehead.
'The child will be pleased to hear this news.' He surmised and pushed the handkerchief back into his pant's pocket.
King Ophire glanced at the group of men who had been whispering among themselves.
This simple glance caused them to quiet down in the next second as they bowed their heads towards the King.
"What were your thoughts about the report that has been submitted?" The ruler of the Kingdom inquired while rubbing his chin.
Just as he had thought, the noblemen were pleased with the Three-step plan that Marquess Samed had formulated.
The paper that was in King Ophire's hand was the original copy made by Yvonne while the similar looking route map made by Marquess Samed was attached to the bunch of paper held in their hands.
The panel of men who aided the King had thoroughly studied the report and everything that the Marquess had mentioned in it seemed feasible.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Marquess has done a great job with this report and he has displayed his keen eye as he has figured a solution out in a single day." One of the men with a full head of snow-white hair expressed his opinions.
The others nodded to indicate that they agreed with what the oldest man in the group had to say.
This old man was the 'Historian' of the Kingdom and to receive his praise was of significant value to Sullivan.
However, the person deserving of this accolade was not him but his prized pupil.
Putting on a smiling face, Marquess Samed let out an awkward chuckle as he slightly bowed his head to accept the praise bestowed on him.
"Ha ha… It was not that difficult a task to accomplish." He spoke without boasting his intellect like he usually would have done.
'After all, that little girl took a matter of minutes to figure out what should be done.' He reckoned and dismissed the praises given to him in a subtle manner.
His pride as a noble would not agree to take the credit for something that he had not done but this situation was different and complicated.
What else could he do when the person themselves asks to not be named in this matter?
King Ophire could sense his uneasiness with the entire situation and decided to give him a helping hand.
'So he does have a conscience and is not alright with taking all the praise that he does not deserve.' He observed and was pleased with the man's attitude.
"Marquess, we shall discuss this report further and let you know before we make any formal announcements." He informed and then nodded at the man.
Getting the hint of what the King wished to say, Marquess Samed bowed before the man seated on the throne.
"Permit me to take my leave, Your Majesty. The lessons with Princess Felicia would commence soon." He requested to be granted leave from his Royal presence.
King Ophire Rosenhyde chuckled at the man who now seemed smart enough to catch the meaning hidden in his words.
Sullivan then turned towards the other noblemen and greeted them before making his way out of the Throne room.
However, before he had left he had shot a quick glance at the paper in the King's hand.
Who would have thought that the ruler of the land had quickly hidden that paper which had the representations of the map drawn on it by Yvonne in the folds of his robes?
Ophire did not wish to hand the paper back to the silver-haired man and hence averted his gaze after concealing the paper from his searching eyes.
Not knowing what else to do, Sullivan hastened as he made his way out of the Throne room and headed in the direction of the Royal Princess' residence.

Once the doors of the Throne room were shut, Ophire pulled the paper out from the folds of his robe and safely placed it inside the folder that Marquess Samed had left behind.
'I must figure out what it is that makes the daughter of the St. Claire's family makes such foolish decisions despite being so wise.' He determined and then rose from his seat.
Noticing the King's actions, the six men straightened their backs and quietened down in the next second.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Shall we take this to the Fountain Hall?" He asked a rhetorical question as there was no one who would dare to oppose his words.
The men soon followed after the man who strode before them with his back straight and his head held high.
The regal air around him was one fit for the King of the land and everyone who saw the tall man as he walked ahead could not help but bow in respect for their lord.
The white and golden robe that he had worn today was different from what the men in the land wore.
Though they covered up almost every part of his body, they could not hide the muscular and fit physique that was hidden under it.
His golden hair shimmered as the morning sun's rays landed on his head and the bright blue eyes glimmered as they kept a watchful eye on their surroundings.
The King's feet came to a halt before a large black door that had golden doorknobs on it.
The stewards bowed before their master and pushed the doors open for him while they remained in the same bowed position.
As King Ophire entered the room, the lights in the empty space were turned on as though they had been activated under a magical spell.
The men who followed after their King could not help but marvel upon taking in the view of the room though they had been here on numerous occasions.
The 'Fountain Hall' that King Ophire had led these men could be compared to a modern-day meeting hall, one where the corporate offices would hold their daily meetings.
However, those meeting rooms could not be compared to the ones they were inside at the moment.
"Take your seat, men." The King's command was obeyed as the men took their usual positions at the table located at the center of the room.
