Titan Rising Online: World Breaker
Chapter 166 166: New Skill In The ApocalypseThe laser smashed into the hood of the truck melting through it in seconds and causing the vehicle to explode soon after. Irma, the commander, leader or whatever as Cole had forgotten her name soon after she had given it and was busy addressing her by the he assumed was her title. They both jumped out of the car just as soon as it exploded, leaving them outside and exposed for the rest of the world to see, or in this case for the zombies to pick them off and tear them apart.
They surged forwards, a crowd of undead, picking their way across the field as they rushed towards Cole and Irma who had quickly given the burning truck a bit of distance and were now standing back to back as they faced what could possibly be their imminent demise. Cole still did not have access to [Spectral Rover] and [Shadow Dance], this meant that they would have to face all of these zombies themselves, but given their strength and their numbers, Cole wasn't so sure he would be able to escape from this unscathed….. This was like being back in that gym from the school he had spawned in when he got to this floor.
"We need to get to that ledge over there, it's a service vent that should lead us back to the chute, but how we can get there without these things tearing us apart is something I don't know. It wouldn't be that bad but those five in the air are well known and documented, they're the Zephyr Collective, a group of villains with various types of flight capabilities. They're dangerous, especially when you consider the fact that during their time, the one with the laser eyes was known as the third most powerful being on our world." Cole nodded his head as he responded to her.
"So in hindsight what you mean to say to me is that we are royally fucked and epically screwed…. Wonderful, anything else you want to tell me about before we're balls deep in zombie?" Cole asked as he made a decision within himself.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Nothing is particularly forthcoming except for the fact that we are about to die and I blame you for it." Irma said as Cole raised an eyebrow in surprise, smiled the nodded his head, she couldn't see it, but Cole was amused. In the face of death he was amused, and it was not for anything other than the fact that he has been face to face with death every second since he started this fucking event…. He was sure tomorrow would be the same.
[You Have Slotted 1 Gold Rank Prism Of The Avenger Into Your Dexterity Stat! The Passive Skill Chaos Mirror has been generated]
[Chaos Mirror (Passive) Gold Ranked: You are the reflection of chaos in reality, reflect 65% of every form of damage taken back to you attackers with 70% Chance to trigger the [Chaos Curse] effect, reducing all of your opponent's stats and subsequent skills by two ranks for 30 seconds!]
This was most definitely not what he was expecting, but then again what could you expect when the prims he had used was called the prism of the avenger. And Cole was not one to be ungrateful… his new skill was epic as fuck, of course it wasn't what he hoped for that would have taken him and Irma away from the approaching horde of zombies.
But add this with his [Demonic constitution] and you had a build that was nigh untouchable. 65% of ever damage taken would be reflected back, and then that [Chaos Curse] effect…..with that alone Cole could bring the most powerful person around him down to their fucking knees. The tradeoff though was that he had to make sure that he could at least survive the hits that they would be dishing out, and that…. Was not guaranteed.
[Gravity]
Cole released a blast of gravity from his hands that threw the first three zombies to reach him backwards as Commander Irma opened fire on those in front of her. Two subsequent loud bangs were head as [Black Sapphire] and [Blue Obsidian] came out to play. Cole was making sure that he was infusing every shot with energy, emptying the chamber for both guns quickly as he holstered them and drew his rifle.
One of the zombies leapt as him as Cole swiped the rifle in front of him, the butt of the gun smashing into the zombies jaw as Cole stomped down hard enough to leave its skull a ruined mess and the zombie very dead. His senses seemed to tingle as he was attacked by what he could only call a premonition as he saw a particularly devastating attacked heading for his and Irma's direction.
He came out of the trance quickly enough to duck under a wild swipe, the Zombie over extended as Cole still crouched pointed his rifle up and pulled the trigger. The power of the shot completely blew the head off the zombie as it was thrown backwards onto the body of another, spreading gore and brain matter all over the place.
He jumped up, hanging the rifle on his back with one fluid motion as he pulled out Black Malakai and ran his energy through the blade. There was a feeling of abject and absolute thrill as the blade vibrated and released a shockwave, shocking Cole as he carved the head of another Zombie then turned to grab Irma's hand then pulled her back into his body before he leapt 25 feet into the air, his body moving in a parabolic arc over the heads of the zombies to land right in the middle of the crowd and not a moment too soon as an intense blast of fiery energy smashed into the area they once occupied.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe remains of the truck was melted into a slag heap so quickly it was almost as if nothing ever existed. The Zombies in the area were not burnt, instead the whole of them were turned to dust almost instantly. Cole raised his head up and incidentally locked eyes with the Zombie that fired the laser beams from his eyes and just caused the destruction they just saw. Cole saw it grin, intelligence gleaming behind those eerie green orbs... Cole grinned right back at him.
He released a blast of [Gravity] with his body as the epicenter, it didn't quite come out as a shockwave as he wanted it to, but enough of the zombies in front of him were blasted backwards and into the air as Cole turned to bring Black Malakai to bear as one of the flying Zombies, the so called Zephyr Collective rushed at him with a cloud of bone dust swirling around her that quickly solidified into massive bone spikes that rushed at him as she landed.
Two could play that game though, Cole was not going to be caught off guard by some zombie villain. [Fade] his form vanished, Causing not just the attacking zombies to pause in shock but also Irma who was not sure what had happened and immediately felt a lance of fear through her chest as thought that perhaps Cole had abandoned her in order to save his own hide.
Without Cole anywhere to be found, the female zombie with the bone dust powers turned her attention to Irma. Her bones flew through towards Irma, and Cole was about to jump in to at least protect her when Irma turned and unceremonious blasted a stream of blue fire out of her hands. Cole shuddered and quickly jumped out of the way as he reappeared, to watch with a shocked look on his face as Irma's fire skill turned the Zombie to ash. All that was left was a pair of much rotted feet.
"Next time maybe we should just start with that you know? Like let's just burn all those zombies to a crisp and….." Cole cut himself shot as he held black Malakai in a river grip and shifted into the form of a gladius and stabbed it through the missing nose of a zombie and out the back of its skull, before twisting it and slashing upwards, cutting its head in half. And immediately he noticed Irma on her knees, trying her hardest to catch her breath as the blue flames she had just used began to twist and creep up her body, Cole did not need anyone to spell out the obvious for him... something was wrong with her.
