Cole had a lot of things to take care of, but he hardly had an idea where to start from. Most of the manor had been cleaned up, but it was still a mess. The brewery looked like it had seen better days, so probably Cole would have to either renovate both buildings or tear them down and build them back up again. To do that he'd need some blueprints, even the architects here need a blueprint in order to be able to build anything.
Blueprints dropped from wild monsters on the 3rd floor, but more often than not, those that were really special. But then again you could also purchase blueprints through the inter-glade market hub that you could access from the pillars in the Glade. Cole would go visit the place before he began any sort of major construction work, but for now he would focus on the farming aspect.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAll of the dried trees had been brought down, along with the ruined bushes of berries and other sweet fruit that went into being the ingredients needed for a wine…. Or alcohol. Cole was in no hurry to get the vineyard and orchard in order, he wanted to put his abilities or rather his knowledge to the test first before he would move on the next step, besides the brewery still was in a dilapidated state.
Cole focused as he looked at the soil, he scowled. He might have been happy about the land but there was no two ways about it, it was no longer fertile, hell from the sickly and dried way it looked, Cole would have to say it was fetid. Nothing good would grow from such a land, and perhaps there were still traces of the corruption Titus Boris had brought upon it in the name of experimental advancements utilizing dark magic and rituals. But in this case it was the same magic or ritual they would save the land, along with of course some very intense recycling exercise.
Based on his [Arcane Farming] knowledge, Cole had recycle the stale energy from within the soil with something fresher. It was a time consuming process, very much like a transfusion for patients with kidney problems. You'd have cycle energy into it, let it seep and absorb the impurities and infertility then pull that energy out to the atmosphere and let it be renewed whilst sending in a new batch to repeat the process until you have something that is good enough. But there was always a short cut to things like this, and Titus Boris was all about shortcuts.
Cole pulled out the [Spear of life and green] a strong catalyst for life force and energy. Focusing the ability of the spear he was able to raise a wooden post on all four corners of his apportioned farmland, at least the one that's on the left. He'd work on the right once he sees how his experiments ends. On the posts he had raised, Cole began to etch in arcane symbols and rules. He'd never studied them before except for the knowledge he has.
The runes for life, rebirth, growth, fertility, and energy were interwoven to create what many would call wards, but are actually really known as Seals or Rune Seals. Cole made sure that the most had circuits that connected it to the power source Cole was about to feed the posts, but also to each other so that they could all work in tandem and circle the energy amongst themselves. There wasn't much souls left in his soul bank again, another side effect of saving Tehilla outside of this reality.
But never the less there was still enough of it available for this as Cole pulled out the soul of the 10th wave boss, the male that almost killed him. His soul was very much still alive and was in the midst of giving out a plea when Cole unceremoniously shoved it into one of the posts. As one all for of them lit up, as the released a small silvery pillar of light to the sky, whilst also releasing a wave of energy over the fields that was contained within the boundary made by the four posts.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmBut that was just activation, a soul had finite energy, and what it's really needed for was the activation of the seals. And using a soul also ensured that the effects of the seal are a lot stronger than they needed to be. After that it was just to slot in a silver Prism into each of the four posts, and then they were up and running fully. A dull hum filled the air, as Cole literally made an automatic fertilizer and soil enhancer Seal array, creation that also conveniently falls under the category of [Arcane-Tech].
The effects were obvious to the eyes as the dry and stale form of the farm began to fade. Places that had patches of green and oily black began to lighten up as a black sickly fog began to rise above the farm. Or it would have if Delarosa had not come out of his shadow, pulled her sword out and pointed it at the smoke. Her sword began to absorb it at a rapid pace, consuming what was most definitely a dangerous and arcane based poison. Cole shuddered to think about the sort of damage that would do to an enemy.
As the rejuvenation carried on, the posts themselves began to grow tiny branches, soon enough those tiny branches here bigger branches, as roots stabbed into the ground and leaves and pine needles began to form. Cole watched aptly as the wooden posts all transformed into four massive pine trees that overlooked the farm, and on the surface of all four trees was the face of the Baneling Boss, etched permanently in pain.
As his soul was powering the Array, the energy of his soul was being cycled constantly between all four trees. Powering the runes whilst the prisms, created the energy that is dispersed from it. At the same time the prisms also created the energy that renewed the soul, And strengthened it, just in time for it to be drained, as the cycled would go on, again and again, and again until Cole finds something else.
It was diabolical, but Cole was a demon even if he still saw himself as human. This was him embracing what he was now. He had tools available to him that he needed to use, and it was not as if he killed innocents. So there's no way the system would brand him a heretic. But the bottom line is, Cole could use souls to farm….. nothing's going to stop him from doing so.
