Chapter 1118 You Seem Excited
She'd just finished tucking the note away when she heard the sound of Evan coming down
the stairs outside the door. Jenny composed herself, opened the door, and walked toward
him.
"Up so early?" Evan was a little surprised to see her come out of her room.
"Didn't you tell me to wake up early?" Jenny asked in reply, suppressing her feelings of
anticipation.
Evan smiled and led her to the dining table. "There's no need to wake up so early. You can
sleep a little longer if you want."
"No, I'm not very sleepy." Jenny refused. She was afraid that Evan would suddenly change
his mind and decide not to take her out.
"You seem excited to go." Evan handed her a sandwich and remarked casually.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtJenny nodded and didn't deny it. "I've been staying on this island day after day. I feel like
I'm becoming isolated from the world. Of course, I'm excited to go out."
Evan opened his mouth, wanting to apologize, but immediately realized that his apology
was meaningless and could only serve to comfort himself.
They quickly finished breakfast, and Evan took Jenny onto the private jet. It was her
second time going out, so Jenny was much more at ease than the first.
After arriving at Duxdence, Evan had to attend to some business, but he didn't trust Jenny
enough to let her wander alone, so he asked Howard to follow her. Jenny was well aware
that he wasn't concerned about her safety, but rather, he was afraid she would run away.
She didn’t object because she knew it would be useless and would only make Evan
unhappy. If he sent her back before they even got to leave the airport, she would lose all
chances of contacting Alec.
After Evan left, Howard stood next to Jenny in a somewhat displeased mood. "Where do
you want to go?"
"To the mall. The one we went to last time was pretty good. Let's go see if there are any
new arrivals." Jenny smiled and walked out of the airport.
Just like last time, as soon as Evan's private jet landed at Duxdence airport, Alec got wind
of it immediately. Therefore, when he saw Jenny walk into the same mall and then into the
same store as before, he knew that she must have something to say to him.
After Jenny left, he quickly found the salesgirl and secured the note she'd written. Having
read the contents of the note, he paid the salesgirl a large sum of money before leaving
contentedly.
He wasn't worried about Evan investigating the girl. After all, she was a local and had lived
there for decades without any issues. The only thing she lacked was money, and Alec just
happened to not lack money.
Jenny wandered around the mall. She bought some clothes as evidence of her shopping,
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmbut she didn't buy many. Finally, she had lunch at the mall and left reluctantly.
Nevertheless, she wasn't sent back to the island right away but was taken by Howard to
Evan's workplace. As Evan had said, he had now established a company, and it looked
quite impressive. If it weren't for Jenny knowing what kind of business he was doing in
private, she would probably believe he'd truly turned over a new leaf.
"You're done shopping?" Evan looked at Jenny, who was sitting on the sofa, and felt a little
helpless. He could tell that her enthusiasm was nowhere near as high as when she had
come out in the morning.
Jenny nodded and leaned back on the sofa. ’Yeah, there wasn't much to see. The clothes
were the same, and there weren't many nice ones."
"Well, when we have time, I'll take you to Luedross. It's livelier over there." Evan smiled as
he looked at her. After all, Jenny had only recently come there, so it was normal for her if
she felt like a fish out of water.
Jenny responded with a cursory "okay" but didn't really take it to heart.
