Chapter 1179 I Never Joke Around
Eric shot a glance at her and smiled. "Miss Walter, you are being humble. Everyone here
knows that the Walters is one of the Ten Elites in Bardoff City."
The guests were speechless. Right, the Dafoes and the Walters were influential families
everyone had to defer to.
"If that's the case, I wonder if you're interested in a partnership?" she inquired.
Eric was astonished at her comments because he could not figure out what she was up to.
"I'll discuss further with you after the auction." Since the auction was ongoing, she didn't
want to discuss more under the watchful gazes of the others.
The conversation ended there, and the auction took off again. Still, Jenny and Eric were
not in the mood to watch anymore.
Eric whispered in Lynette's ear, "Your daughter is way more clever than you. " Lynette did

here to bring you with them?" Upon closer look, the smile on his face appeared
murderous.
She bit her lip and denied it, "You're thinking too much. I'm now your wife. Why would I
leave with them?"
"Is that so? Good." He chuckled and said no more. No one could tell if he was convinced by
Lynette's words.
At the same time, Lynette was dumbfounded by Jenny’s move. She wondered, "Jenny,
what exactly are you doing? Didn't I ask you to leave with your dad? How could you
engage in his shenanigans?"
After Jenny took her seat, Graham frowned. "Jenny, what are you..."
"Dad, it's fine. Everyone knows what's going on, and there's no need to beat around the
bush with Eric Dafoe. Even if you claim you're not here to look for Lynette, he wouldn't
believe you." Jenny was unconcerned. Eric would make a move anyway, so all they needed
to do was to prepare for the imminent attack.
Graham nodded. After learning that Lynette wasn't having a good time with Eric, he badly
wanted to leave Bayside City with her. Therefore, he offered Jenny his full support. His only
concern was for Jenny's safety.
The auction came to a close, and thus began the boring dinner event. Between the glass
clinking and small talk, Jenny located Eric and prepared to approach him with a glass of
champagne.
"Jenny, you..." Graham was concerned. ’Why don't I go to him instead?"
"Oh, forget about it. You're his love rival. I'm scared that he'd only end up fighting you."
If the two grown men were embroiled in a fight, they'd only humiliate themselves. Plus,
Jenny knew that Graham was no match for Eric in a physical battle.
Graham did not refute. After learning that Eric wasn't treating Lynette right, he knew that

Jenny told him not to worry and instructed him, "I'll buy time by talking to Eric. You'll take
the opportunity to find Lynette and clarify the situation, especially asking her if she's
willing to leave with us."
"Yes. Got it." He nodded.
Then, Jenny left him and marched in Eric's direction.
"Mr. Dafoe!" She looked at him with a smile. Eric was standing with Lynette beside him.
’Let's continue our conversation from before. I'm very
interested in a partnership with the Dafoes."
He snickered and raised an eyebrow at her. "Miss Walter, are you joking with me now?"
"Of course not! I never joke around." But she had no idea if the "partnership " would ever
come to fruition. Eric scrutinized her, his eyes traveling between her and Lynette. "Miss
Walter, you resemble my wife."
Jenny chuckled and winked at him. "Well, that's for sure. Mrs. Dafoe is my mother, after
all.’
