Chapter 259 Pretending to Be a Gentleman
When Alec woke up in Jenny’s house the next day, his mind was still flooded with last night’s memories.
The thought of the kiss made him smile goofily. He reached out and touched his lips as if he could still
feel Jenny’s warm lips.
He heard a voice from outside the door; it was probably Jenny. Without hesitating, he quickly got up from
bed and opened the door to see her in the living room. When their eyes met, neither spoke, and they
began blushing hard, especially Jenny.
Glaring at Alec angrily, she said, “The toiletries are in the bathroom. I happened to have some extra lying
around, so you can use them.”
Nobody of the opposite gender had stayed overnight in her house, not even Gilbert and Zack. Who knew
Alec would be the first?
“Thank you.” Alec nodded. He turned and walked into the bathroom.

Jenny sighed at the thought. Smacking her forehead, she told herself not to think about it.
When Alec came out of the bathroom, breakfast was ready on the table.
“I’ve prepared breakfast,” Jenny announced.
“Breakfast? What’s for breakfast?” Alec was truly surprised as he didn’t expect Jenny to cook.
“Instant noodles,” she replied, leaving him speechless.
“How can we eat instant noodles first thing in the morning?” Alec murmured before he took the instant
noodles away.
“What are you doing?” Jenny asked.
Alec ignored her and went into the kitchen with the instant noodles. After a few moments, he brought
them out again. However, they had protein and greens in them now.
Jenny couldn’t help laughing. “I didn’t expect you to be so concerned about things like that.”
“Do you think I would do this if I wasn’t worried about your stomach?” Even his grandfather had yet to
have the luxury of enjoying a breakfast prepared by Alec. Jenny was the first one.
“Hey, it’s not as bad as you’re making it out to be. I’m fine.”
“Is that so? I wonder who was in so much pain that she couldn’t stand,” Alec teased.
At a loss for words, Jenny couldn’t refute that.
After breakfast, Alec, who only had a day off that week, couldn’t stay at Jenny’s house any longer. After
all, he had to attend a meeting at the Faust Group. “I’ll head off to work first. What are your plans today?”
he asked before he left.
As it was Sunday, Jenny didn’t have to go to the hospital. “I might go to my office. Since we’re just getting
started, things might be busy.” Although Jade was overseeing the projects, Jenny couldn’t wait around as
she was the head of the company.
“Okay, don’t tire yourself out.”

Alec soon left, and Jenny cleaned her house before heading to her office.
Meanwhile, in Gilbert’s villa, Zack woke up from his hangover. Rubbing his head in a daze, he asked, ”
Where am I?”
“You’re at home. Where else would you be?” Gilbert answered, handing him a glass of water.
Zack accepted it. After he drank it, he asked, “You brought me back?”
“Did you think you walked back here by yourself?” Gilbert asked incredulously, wondering why he was
asking dumb questions.
Placing the glass on the table, Zack rolled his eyes at him. “What’s wrong with you? Why are you so
irritated?” When Gilbert fell silent, Zack asked, “How did it go with Jenny last night? Did you clear things.
up?”
“Yeah.” Gilbert nodded.
“That’s good.” Zack heaved a sigh of relief.
Gilbert didn’t sleep last night as a question kept bothering him all night long. Finally, he made up his
mind.
