Chapter 472 Divorce if There Is No Love
‘There's no need to thank me. You already know everything anyway, don’t you? You’ll know the
specifics sooner or later." Zachary was helpless. If it hadn't been for the fact Jenny had found out about
almost everything, he wouldn't have taken the initiative to tell her about all that.
Jenny smiled when she heard that, but her smile was a weak and slightly guilty one. She didn't dare to
tell Zachary she was just trying her luck by pretending to have found out about her true identity. In fact,
she didn't ask about anything when she went to Bardoff City. On top of that, Mr. Spade had already
gone to the hospital before she could get to him.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen downstairs, Alec instructed the chef to cook the dishes that Jenny liked.
Mortimer also walked into the kitchen and looked at Alec coldly.
"Why do you insist on being with that woman?"
Alec was slightly stunned when he heard this, and did not turn his head to look at Mortimer. He

"She’s not a good match for you. I'm telling you this for your own good," Mortimer continued.
This time, Alec turned around and walked toward him. He stopped right before Mortimer and said softly,
"Grandpa said that he has told you about Jenny's identity.”
Mortimer was a little taken aback but didn’t deny it.
"In that case, the status problem you pointed out doesn’t exist at all. What is your reason for
opposition?" Alec looked him in the eyes. He stared at Mortimer intently, as if he wanted to see through
the latter.
Mortimer felt uncomfortable under his piercing gaze. He coughed dryly and then said, "I object to your
relationship with her because I think you're not suitable for each other. It has nothing to do with her
identity."
As soon as he said that, Alec couldn't help but burst out laughing. He couldn't comprehend how
Mortimer was able to utter bullshit that he didn't mean at all.
Tm not suitable for her, but you think Alfred is right for her, don't you?" Alec asked with a frosty
expression. Evidently, he could see through Mortimer's wishful thinking thoroughly.
Before Mortimer found out about Jenny’s identity, the reason he would object to their relationship was
understandable. After all, people like him attached great importance to benefits and interests. Back
then, Jenny could not bring anything to the table in his eyes, so he naturally wouldn't agree forthem to
get together.
But now, that problem no longer existed. Not only that, but once Jenny officially returned to her family,
he would be the less significant party instead. In this case, Mortimer had no reason to object. However,
his opposition, coupled with Alfred going to Jenny's company to work, suggested that the father and
son duo were plotting something behind the scenes. Alec was relatively certain of this.
When Alec mentioned Alfred, Mortimer was not surprised. He didn't plan to hide it from Alec in the first
place. "Alfred...He's your brother."
"Heh." Alec snorted sarcastically, looking into Mortimer's eyes as if he was looking at a fool.

with someone you don't love? You should be able to understand me." He sighed, trying to seek Alec's
forgiveness.
It was a pity Alec was never exactly a soft-hearted person.
Hearing him say that, Alec could barely hold himself back from punching his father. "If you don’t love
someone, you can divorce them, instead of hurting them the way you did!"
"I admit that you're right. I was wrong. I was too young at the time to think about the consequences,
and I didn't expect your mother to take it so far." He really didn't expect Alec's mother would commit
suicide.
Alec couldn’t be bothered to discern whether Mortimer meant what he'd said. It didn't matter to him the
least bit.
"Ask Alfred to stay away from Jenny. No matter what plans you two have, don't drag Jenny into any of
them." Alec gave Mortimer a warning.
Mortimer laughed dryly. He didn't agree, nor did he refuse. He simply smiled ambiguously, which made
Alec feel exceptionally irritated.
