Chapter 592 He's Not Worth It
After their brief exchange, Jenny left Alfred's office. She then took out her phone before hesitating. Mortimer was
Alec's biological father, no matter what. Would Alec be upset to hear the news? Had he heard about it?
Jenny called him anyway. The call rang on for several long seconds before Alec finally picked up. He sounded tired.
’Jenny."
"You sound exhausted. Are you alright?' Jenny asked, concerned.
"Yeah, I’m alright. There's just been a lotto get done at work." All Alec wanted was to settle everything as soon as
possible and then go to Bardoff City, where he could focus on taking down the Glasses as they had planned.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThe moment the Glasses were taken care of, he could officially be with Jenny. That's why he was in a hurry to make
it happen.
Jenny was oblivious to it. She had only mentioned it back then because she wasn't yet sure what to do with her
relationship with Alec.
His exhaustion made Jenny wince. "Don't rush. Take your time. Vincent is still manning the fort for you here, so you
don't have to hurry."
"I know, but...l want to see you."
Jenny's face instantly flushed red. It was a good thing no one was around to see it.
"I'm not easy to win over, Alec Faust," she huffed. Though she came off as stern, if Alec could see her right now,
he'd see the wide grin on her face.
Alec chuckled. Of course winning her over wasn't easy. It wouldn't have taken him this long to court her and still end
up with nothing. He took a deep breath. "I know, I know. We can decide on this once the Glasses are taken care of.
You made that promise to me, so no backing out."
"Aren't you afraid of getting an answer you don't want to hear?"
Alec really was confident. "I am, but I want an answer no matter what." He didn't want to spend his days in limbo
with Jenny. Plus, he had a strong feeling Jenny's answer was one he'd like.
Jenny felt warmth surge through her chest. "Alright. I'll give you an answer in time."
She then remembered why she had called Alec in the first place. "Have you ...heard about what happened to
Mortimer?"
Alec stayed silent for a good while. Just before Jenny was about to speak up again, he answered, "You mean the
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmnews of him being in a coma? Yeah, I heard."
Jenny longed to console him but didn't know what to say. She wasn't good at it.
"Are you okay? I can visit him for you." He was Alec's biological father, after all.
Alec scoffed. "He's not worth it. "You don't need to go. He has nothing to do with you anyway. Not even if he dies."
Just like Alec wouldn't have visited Mortimer in the hospital if he was in Bardoff City, he naturally wouldn't let Jenny
visit. To him, Mortimer Faust had died long ago.
Jenny sighed in relief. "What about Grandpa?" "I haven't told him yet. His health hasn't been the best, so I don't
want him to know yet." All Alec could do was pretend Mortimer was still fine in front of his grandfather.
