Chapter 613 Something Is Off
James grew quiet after hearing Jenny's words. Very, very quiet.
Jenny wasn't in a hurry. She didn't mind letting him think for himself. It'd be best if he could figure it out clearly.
Right at that moment, the waiter served them their food. Jenny ate peacefully, waiting for James to figure it out.
"You're really unbothered by all this, Jenny." James watched her happily eating, unsure of what to say.
Jenny shrugged nonchalantly and smiled. "I might not have accepted your confession, but that doesn't mean I have
to starve."
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtEven if they weren't a couple, Jenny still trusted James' character. She knew that he wouldn't hate her because of it.
"Yeah. You can carry on eating whatever you want. I've booked the entire restaurant." But now, it seemed highly
unnecessary. Hence, regardless of whether he would succeed, he had to tell her how he felt. The end result was
pretty much what he expected. Jenny had not accepted him.
"I know how you're feeling, James, but it's unnecessary. There are so many eligible bachelorettes in Bardoff City.
You'll find one you like," Jenny comforted him while eating.
James didn't share the same thought. He drank his red wine and sighed," It's not that easy."
"Believe in yourself. You'll find her one day." James was a brilliant man. Any girl in Bardoff City would like him. Jenny
thought it would be easy for James to find someone who liked him. As for how much, that would be up to fate.
James stopped talking about it. He put down his wineglass and asked," Well, who do you like if not me? Is it still
Alec?"
It seemed that besides him, only Alec had a close relationship with her. The other guys were all either rejected or
friend-zoned.
Jenny said nothing. When he brought up Alec, her heart thumped. That uneasy feeling came back. Since yesterday,
she hadn't been able to contact him. It was abnormal.
Even if he hadn't picked up when she called him, he should have called back once he knew about her calling him.
He wouldn't be this quiet.
Something was off. Very off!
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmJenny began eating quickly. She had to call him again.
James didn't know what she was thinking, but he noticed she was eating faster. He looked bewildered. "Jenny?"
"Don't you worry, James. I'd invite you to my wedding. You'll know who I like when that happens." Jenny couldn't
answer his question. She knew clearly that she probably liked Alec, but she was too embarrassed to say it out loud.
James had no choice but to let it go. "Alright. Even if I think he's unworthy of you, I'll stand by you if you're sure
about your decision."
Jenny smiled. It felt nice having someone support her.
Their meal didn't last for long. Jenny wanted to call Alec as quickly as possible so she didn't dawdle. It hurt James'
feelings a lot.
Once Jenny got home, she called Alec on her phone. No matter what, she had to hear his voice that night.
