Chapter 619 Do You Want Me to Take Responsibility?
In the Faust Manor in Bardoff City, a middle-aged man looked at the bodyguard behind him. "Is it done?”
"Yes. The target is dead, and the ones remaining are not worth worrying over,’ the bodyguard replied.
The man nodded in satisfaction. As long as the few influential ones were dead, the rest were mere jokes. Even if the
old man spoonfed opportunities to them, they wouldn't be able to cope.
"Does that old man know?" he asked.
"Probably not."
"Good. Get someone to leak the news to him. Crush his spirits. Make him give up on handing over the Fausts to
these outsiders. Faust Inc is mine!"
A ferocious look flashed over his face.
Jade was working hard in Jeneration Group. She knew that something had happened to Jenny, so she had to work

"Miss Weston, someone is here for you.” Her secretary knocked on the door and walked in.
"Who is it?"
"His name is Max Pearson, and he says he's your friend."
Max.
Jade's expression shifted. Her memories flashed uncontrollably through her mind, but she suppressed them quickly.
"Tell him I'm busy."
"Alright." The secretary left, but Jade could no longer focus on work. She thought of what had happened on the
night she had gotten drunk. Until now, it all felt like a dream.
She was already at this age. How could she have acted so impulsively?
"I was careless," she thought.
Downstairs, when Max heard that Jade refused to see him, a smile appeared on his lips. He did not leave, choosing
to wait for her. Since that night, Jade had been avoiding him. Today, he had to get a clear answer from her.
Jade was not expecting him to wait for her. When she saw him, her first instinct was to flee. However, her secretary
was right beside her. There were numerous employees around her as well. If she left, people would start talking.
Max walked toward her and said calmly, "Let's talk."
"Start the car,' Jade said to her secretary.
Her secretary nodded. Though it felt odd, she went to start the car as instructed.
After her secretary left, Jade didn’t dwindle. She did not want to become the center of gossip.
She brought Max to the break room on the first floor. Her anxiety decreased only when the door was shut. "What
do you want to talk about? I thought that I had made things very clear."
"Clear? I didn't find it clear at all." Max was upset when faced with her attitude. "Are you just going to pretend
nothing happened that night?"
"Yep. Nothing at all." Jade nodded.

Weston! What do you take me for? H
"We're all adults here, Max. You probably wouldn't want me to take responsibility for this, would you?" She was truly
regretful. She wouldn't have drunk so much that night if she had known. Then, she would not have acted so
impulsively.
"What if I want you to?" Max looked at her. He knew he could turn his back on her and leave, but he couldn't. If he
hadn't come looking for her, she would honestly have pretended that nothing had happened between them that
night. But he couldn't do it.
Jade was stunned as if she was not expecting him to say something like that. She was dazed for a while before
smiling dryly, asking, "Are you joking? How am I going to take responsibility for this?"
"By being my girlfriend," Max said with no hesitation.
Jade frowned and refused him outright. "I'm sorry. I'm not thinking about those things for the time being."
Max was a good person, but they weren't suitable for each other.
