Chapter 620 Dead or Alive
Jade's words made Max incensed. He looked at her as if wanting to catch a glimpse of something different in her
eyes.
Unfortunately, he found nothing.
"Max, I'm honestly not suited for you. Your feelings for me are probably just a fleeting crush. As long as we see
each other less, your feelings will vanish." Jade felt upset seeing him like that. Max was good to her and helped her
out many times, but she couldn't get together with him forthat reason alone. It was unfair to both of them.
Her words didn't comfort Max in the slightest. On the contrary, it made him even angrier. "We've never even tried.
How would you know that we wouldn't work? Do you think all guys are jerks just because you've met one? H

Max was furious but couldn't unleash his anger with Jade acting that way." I hope you'll think about it. We can't live
in the past forever. It's time you moved on." With that, Max left.
Jade's eyebrows furrowed when she watched him leave. "Am I really...living in the past?"
She had always thought that she had already moved past it. She thought the hurt that Hayden had caused her no
longer affected her. But now that Max said it, she too felt that she hadn't really moved on.
She sighed before leaving the break room. She dismissed the matter and placed all of her focus on work. That was
the only way she'd felt better.
Meanwhile, Jenny was a frequent visitor at the cliff where Alec's car crashed. She was always trying to find clues
proving he was still alive. But no matter how hard she tried, whether it was downstream or at the cliff, she couldn't
find a trace of Alec.
He was missing. No one knew if he was dead or alive.
Her phone rang, and she picked it up. Alfred's voice came through the receiver. "Mortimer is still lying on his
hospital bed. Why did you make me see him?"
"No reason. I just wanted to make sure," Jenny replied. The Glasses had motives to hurt Alec, but so did Mortimer.
That was why she had to be sure of it.
On the other end, Alfred frowned. "What happened?"
"Nothing." Jenny didn't plan on telling Alfred anything. She couldn't guarantee that he would lay low once he knew.
As if afraid of him pushing the matter, she asked, "Is everything alright with the company?"
"Yes. Everything is fine." Alfred didn't press the matter. Based on how urgently Jenny went back to Parrington and
then asked him to check on Mortimer in the hospital, he could guess that something had happened to Alec.
But what could it be?

Alfred had no idea, and he found no interest in it. He thought that life was going pretty well. Although it didn't
compare to being the head of Faust Group, an ordinary life filled with honest work was pretty enjoyable.
"Help me keep an eye on the Glasses. See if there's any suspicious activity on their end." Finally, Jenny placed her
focus on the Glasses. They were the most suspicious of all.
"Alright."
The call ended, and Jenny began considering her next moves. Was she to stay and continue looking for him?
But she still had to work in Walter Inc and take revenge on Alec's behalf. There were many things to deal with in
Jeneration Group, too.
She felt frustrated at the thought of all these things. Of course, what troubled her the most was that Alec was
absolutely nowhere to be found.
