Chapter 679 You've Gotten Gutsy
Looking at the Walter family side, Graham noticed that Jolene was probably the happiest.
She was in a red dress and stood amicably at the door, greeting guests with a much better
attitude than usual. Graham thought that he'd done everything he could for this daughter.
Jenny came with Stephanie, but she didn't stand with the Walters to greet guests like
Graham and the others. Instead, she attended the banquet like a guest.
"James." Jenny walked over to greet James. She could see that he was upset.
Upon hearing her voice, James' finally snapped out of his dazed condition and focused his
eyes on her. ‘Jenny, you're here."
Jenny nodded. Seeing James in such a state, she was significantly affected. She wanted to
comfort him but knew it wouldn't help at this time and would only upset him kore.
"Go in and have a seat," James said, leading Jenny into the banquet hall.
Jolene was unhappy upon seeing that. She quickly walked over and said, " Jenny, why did

Jenny looked at her coldly and unsmilingly.
"James, I'll take my sister inside." Jolene reached to grab Jenny's hand to steer her away
from James.
James looked at her and sneered apathetically. "As you wish."
Perhaps Jolene thought that marrying him was a good thing right now.
After the engagement, James silently swore that he would make her wish she was dead.
Jenny walked into the banquet hall, trailing behind Jolene.
"James and I are getting engaged today. If you dare to cause any trouble, I won't let you
off the hook, and neither will Dad," Jolene warned her as they made their way to their
seats.
Jenny gave her a sideways glance. "What're you afraid of? Could it be that you came to
realize you can't hold on to things that are stolen? Are you worried that James will leave
you anytime?"
"I'm not afraid of anything!" Jolene retorted in a headstrong manner. "All the famous and
affluent families in Bardoff City are here today. If you don't care about the Walters and
Windsors' reputation, do whatever you want."
Jenny didn't say anything. In fact, Jolene was worrying over nothing. Even if Jenny had no
regard for the Walters, she couldn't offend the Windsors and had to respect James' choice.
Since he had chosen to marry Jolene, it showed that family honor was more important
than anything else in his heart. If she caused trouble, James probably wouldn't be happy.
Not bothered to continue talking to Jenny, Jolene walked out and returned to the door to
greet more guests.
The banquet hall was packed, so Jenny led Stephanie to a quiet corner to avoid the crowd.
"Steph, you don't seem very happy today," Jenny stated, looking at Stephanie with a
puzzled expression as she handed her a drink.

Stephanie hadn't said a word all the way to the hotel, and Jenny didn't know what was on
her mind.
"It's nothing. I'm just not used to this kind of occasion," Stephanie replied. In Parrington,
the Walkers were considered a rich family, but they were nothing when compared to the
prominent families in Bardoff City.
Helplessly, Jenny said, "Steph, it's been a while since we last met. You've
gotten gutsy, huh? You even dare to lie to me now."
"Jenny, I..."
"I know you're worried about Paul. You're afraid he'll come back to cause trouble again,
aren't you?" Jenny made a guess what was on Stephanie's mind without her having to say
anything.
Stephanie didn't deny it; she was indeed worried about this matter.
Jenny patted her shoulder and said, "Don't worry. With me around, Paul won't stand a
chance."
They were in Bardoff City, after all. As long as they were here, the Walters could still
protect Stephanie and her family.
