Chapter 856 Jerk!
If she didn't like it, she would have pushed him away at the first instance, feeling repulsed
by him or maybe even slapped him.
All that should have happened instead of what went on now-she neither pushed him away
nor raised her hand against him, and her heartbeat was faster than usual.
Jenny's originally flushed cheeks were even redder now. Her cheeks were practically
scarlet, looking like a ripe, delicious apple meant to be devoured.
When she regained her senses and wanted to slap Alec, he didn't give her a chance to do
so. He lowered his head and planted another kiss on her lips. The unique scent of his
breath came between their lips, and Jenny was so dazed by the kiss that she lost all sense
of her surroundings and couldn't tell where she was for a moment.
"I told you this is a good place for kissing. Look at them. They’re even bolder than us." A
voice came behind them, presumably from the young couple they had seen earlier.
Jenny's face turned even redder at that, and she forcefully pushed Alec away. She then
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtwalked briskly ahead, feeling too embarrassed to face anyone.
Alec turned to nod at the young couple not far away. If it hadn't been for them, he and
Jenny might not have gotten closer tonight. He quickly caught up with Jenny on the side of
the street. The surroundings were now brightly lit- it was obviously inappropriate for him
to attempt his earlier stunt again.
Alec cleared his throat and walked up to Jenny. "It's late. Let me take you home."
"Okay," Jenny replied softly, following Alec.
They walked in the direction of the restaurant. Both of them acted as if nothing had
happened just now. From Jenny's viewpoint, Alec looked serious now, showing no signs of
the wild passion he exhibited earlier.
She was a little disgruntled. "What's this? He kissed me and acted like nothing had
happened. What a jerk!" Jenny cursed in her heart.
Alec didn't know what she was thinking. He thought that if he brought up what happened
earlier, it would only make her more embarrassed. So, he pretended as if nothing had
happened, assuming it would be better this way.
Soon, they arrived at the restaurant entrance where Alec's car was parked.
He opened the passenger door for Jenny. "Get in."
Jenny didn't say anything and silently got in the car.
The car started quickly, and Alec drove Jenny right to her doorstep. Just as Jenny's figure
was about to disappear from his sight, Alec suddenly shouted in her direction, "Jenny! I'm
serious!"
Jenny didn't turn back as she exclaimed internally, "Who cares if you're being serious? At
least I don't!"
It wasn't until Jenny's figure disappeared that Alec got back in his car again, but he'd
returned to his usual self by then, without the impulsive look from earlier. Nevertheless, if
one looked closely, one could still seethe glimmer of joy he couldn't hide in his eyes.
In her bedroom, Jenny lay on the big bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep.
That kiss was like a mark engraved in her mind. Every time she closed her eyes, the

on hers.
Jenny felt like Alec had bewitched her. She told herself that wouldn't do! And so, she
quickly shifted her attention. She sat up, leaned against the headboard, and called
Stephanie.
The phone rang for a long time before Stephanie answered, "Miss Walter, why are you
calling so late? Is there something wrong?"
Since Jenny took over the Walters' business, Stephanie liked to call her Miss Walter, saying
it sounded more imposing. Jenny sneered at it, but she couldn't be bothered to argue with
her.
"I just missed you and wanted to call and ask about your recent situation," Jenny said.
Unfortunately, Stephanie wasn't a fool. "Missed me? Are you sure there's nothing else
going on? Come clean. What happened?" she asked suspiciously.
Stephanie found it impossible for Jenny to call her in the middle of the night so suddenly
for no reason.
