Chapter 872 A Solid Reason
Jenny was feeling a whirlwind of emotions. She was glad that they hadn't found him. Yet,
she worried about him.
She still had no clue what had happened. However, based on what they said, Alec was
dead in their eyes, which meant he was in bad shape.
She began looking as well, but the reality of it was grim. She had to focus on finding him
on top of keeping herself hidden. It was slow progress. The only silver lining was that they
had not found him either, so he could have survived.
She was about to keep searching, but then her phone rang. She was stunned.
On the quiet cliff, a single word uttered would have been loud. And this was a ringtone.
Jenny was instantly discovered.
"Someone's there!"

A swarm of security guards moved toward her. Jenny ran while talking on the phone. She
felt even worse listening to Melissa's description of everything that had happened. Alec
had even been shot before falling down the cliff!
Her worry was boundless, but she didn't have the time to think. She had to lose the
security guards coming after her. Otherwise, she’d be killed before even getting to find
Alec.
"Follow me!"
A silhouette appeared before her. Before she could react, he pulled her in another
direction.
"Paul? Why are you here?" Jenny was bewildered. Even if news of Alec's incident had
spread, Paul couldn't be there so early.
Paul didn't answer her question. If it weren't for the fact that Jenny meant so much to Alec,
he wouldn't have cared whether she lived.
Quickly, Jenny was stunned once more.
There was a helicopter on the mountain!
Paul pushed Jenny in. There were already quite a few people in it. There were even two
doctors tending to Alec's wounds.
The helicopter rose in the air. The security guards rushed over, but it was pointless. They
had seen the helicopter ages ago, but they thought it belonged to the Fausts, which was
why they didn't bother checking it. They didn't think that it belonged to someone else. If
they did, they wouldn't have watched them escape right before their eyes!
In the helicopter, Jenny looked at Alec, who was still unconscious. She was slowly figuring
things out. She looked at Paul and asked, ’Did you know early on that something would
happen to him?"
"It wasn't me. It was him.’ Before Alec went to the club, he had arranged everything.

accident?" Jenny was a little angry. Despite his seemingly perfect plan, anything could
have gone wrong.
Paul looked at her and said, "Since he chose to go, there had to be a solid reason."
"You..." Jenny didn't know what to say."
Paul was Alec's friend, yet when he knew of something like this, he agreed instead of
pulling Alec back.
Paul was exasperated, too. When Alec told him his plan, he opposed it. However, they
both knew of Alec's personality. When he had made up his mind, no one could do anything
to change it.
All that he could do was ensure that nothing happened to Alec. He arranged for a
helicopter to stay at the club early on so that if anything happened, they could leave in
the fastest way possible. However, he didn't expect Alec to be wounded so badly.
Just like Jenny said, a perfect plan could not guarantee that accidents wouldn't happen.
