Chapter 992 Come With Us
Right then, Jenny had a massive headache and wasn't in the mood to argue with them any
longer. She shook off Derrick's hand and said with some difficulty, "You guys talk. I'll go
downstairs first."
She was afraid she would faint there and then if she continued to let it drag out any
longer.
She went into the elevator, but McKenna didn't intend to let her leave as she stared at
Jenny angrily and said, "Jenny, what do you mean? You clearly rejected Derrick, but now
you're flirting with him. Do you want to have your cake and eat it too?"
"You're overthinking things. I'm not interested in him," Jenny said, her head pounding.
Unfortunately, McKenna didn't believe her. "I'm overthinking things? Are you saying that I
was mistaken?” McKenna sneered and halted the elevator there.
Jenny was at a loss for words. She looked at Derrick standing outside the elevator and
asked, "Can you guys go out and talk? I need to go downstairs urgently."
"Jenny!" McKenna got even angrier upon being brushed off by her. She thought Jenny was
openly seducing Derrick in front of her and was so livid she could hit someone.
Derrick snapped out of his daze at last. He was stunned and didn't know how to react
because when he saw McKenna inside the elevator, he thought he was done for. McKenna
was particularly possessive and would get angry if he talked to any woman for more than
a few minutes. Now that she saw him helping Jenny, she was sure to make a big fuss.
He was distracted because he was at a loss about what to do. When he heard Jenny's
words, he finally returned to his senses. "McKenna, you come out first and let Jenny go
downstairs. I'll explain everything to you later."
"No, I won't! Why are you letting her go? Don't tell me you're still protecting her even
now!" McKenna refused vehemently.
Derrick was speechless, but Jenny was even more so. Noticing that more and more people
were gathering around, he knew that this couldn't go on. He forcibly pulled McKenna out of
the elevator and pressed the door close button for Jenny before dragging her away.
"Derrick! Stop pulling me away!" McKenna's voice echoed through the hallway. Jenny
breathed a sigh of relief as the elevator doors closed.
The doors opened again on the third floor, and Jenny was about to walk out when she
realized the people outside the elevator were acting strange. They had no intention of
getting on the elevator but instead stared straight at her as if she were their prey.
Jenny lowered her head, pretending not to have noticed them, and was about to leave
when she realized she was being too naive. Those people got on the elevator and blocked
her path.
"Dr. Walter, come with us." With that, the person pressed the button for the basement.
Jenny pursed her lips and prepared to quietly reach her hand into her pocket to make a
phone call. However, before she could do so, her hand was grabbed by one of the men.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Dr. Walter, I advise you not to move around recklessly. The gun in my hand is not for
show," the man said, pointing the gun at her waist and preventing her from moving.
If it were a normal day, she would have taken action the moment the person appeared at
the elevator door and would never have let herself be trapped there. But now, she
couldn't even stand still, let alone resist. On a normal day, she could take on five people at
once, but with her condition now, she wasn't even a match for one.
Jenny thought she was fortunate to get into such a situation at a time like this. Little did
she know that the other party had deliberately chosen this opportunity to act. Otherwise,
how could they have succeeded so easily?
In the corner of the hospital staircase, Derrick had just finished explaining everything to
McKenna. "McKenna, I really don't have any feelings for her now. I only have eyes for you.
Please believe me."
"Really?" McKenna was still doubtful, but her anger had subsided a lot.
"Yes. I helped her because I noticed she wasn't feeling well; I wasn't thinking of anything
else," Derrick swore earnestly.
