Chapter 372 Nothing More Than a Pawn

Draco laughed loudly. “Alright then. This woman means nothing to you.”

He fixed his gaze on Caroline and spoke slowly. “Did you catch that, Caroline? You’re nothing more

than his pawn, someone he’ll discard once he’s done using you! Your love doesn’t matter to him.

“Why did you try to gain his favor by revealing his mother’s situation? If you were to disappear

now, he’d barely spare you a second thought!”

Caroline looked back at Draco, her voice hoarse. “Aren’t you the one who should feel sad? Evan’s

mother grew tired of explaining herself because your family never believed in others. What else

was left for her to clarify?”

Draco frowned. “What’s so sad about me?”

Caroline sneered. “Isn’t it sad that you forgave your own son when he slept with your wife?”

Draco slapped Caroline as her voice trailed off. “Your wish will be granted today since you seem so

eager to die!”

He seized a bodyguard’s gun and aimed it at Caroline’s head.

Evan’s eyes widened in shock, and fear overwhelmed him. He was about to step forward when a

voice from the door stopped him.

“Stop!”

Everyone turned to see Neil standing at the doorway, his expression grave.

Neil rushed to Caroline’s side, his actions hesitant as he observed her beaten body.

Tears welled up in Caroline’s eyes as she looked at Neil. ‘I want to go home, Neil…”

Her voice barely reached his ears.

Neil teared up, holding back his emotions. “Of course, let me take you home,” he said shakily.

Scooping Caroline into his arms, he glared at Draco. “Mr. Jordan, today’s events have intensified

our conflict. I’ll deal with you in due time.”

Neil turned to leave, and Draco dismissed the bodyguards despite the their intentions to stop him.

He hadn’t expected Neil’s intervention.

The Xander family held even more power in Angelbay than the Jordan family. Draco had to

consider becoming a target if he confronted Neil now. He couldn’t risk becoming enemies over a

woman.
