“Seems like he’s really got the hots for you.” Emmett squinted. “Need me to squeeze out some time to meet him?”

Clara shook her head frantically and said, “No! Emmett, if you’re angry, you can blow up at me, but you can’t go

after Elio! I’m the one who owes him; I didn’t explain our relationship clearly and made him misunderstand; these

Clara puckered her lips and sighed helplessly, “Yeah! Emmett chewed me out.”

‘But Mr. Melendez does this because he’s worried about you! He cares about you; that’s why he’s so concerned

about where you go.”

“I get all that.”

“Don’t blow it with Mr. Melendez! I’ve been around him for a long time, and I’ve never seen him care about anyone

like this! No matter if it’s men or women, he usually couldn’t care less! Plenty of women tried to get close to Mr.
