I’m not trying to break you guys up or anything, but she’s really not the right fit for the

Milbur family.”

“Whether she fits into the Milbum family or not isn’t for me to decide, all I care about is

whether I like her! I like Clara, and it’s got nothing to do with the Milburn

family

Olivia sighed at her son’s stubbomness. “So what does Clara think? Is she up for marrying

you too?”

She had assumed Clara was like those other women who eager to lie the knot with

someone who would accept her.

“Ah, I just want you to be happy, because you’re my only son! How about this? I’ll find a

chance to meet Clara and have a chat with her. What do you think?”

Elio looked at his mother, “Mom, don’t go say things you shouldn’t to Clara! She’s already

worried about this If you bring it up, there’s no hope for me and Clara. Id regret it for the

rest of my life!”

“Why would I go and say something pointless? I just want to get to know her, we’ll have to

meet sooner or later, right? I’m really curious about her and want to learn what kind of

woman has caught the eye of the Milburn family’s son.”

“Let’s talk about it later, she’s stressed out about the whole Milburn family thing right

now.”

“Alright, I’ll follow your lead”

At night, Clara put Alex to bed, then went to the courtyard for a walk to clear her head.

So much has happened lately.

She wanted to run away, but she just couldn’t.

“Clara, is Alex asleep?”

Clara nodded, “Yeah, finally.”

I can’t sleep. Clara couldn’t hide her pain, “When I close my eyes, all I see is the Melendez

family taking Alex!”

“Clara…” Elio walked over, hesitated, then slowly said, “Have you thought about another

way? You could be honest with the Melendez family Maybe they’ll let you keep them

because you’re their mother? Or, you could possibly marry into the Melendez family.”

Clara interrupted immediately, “I don’t want to be part of the Melendez family! So that’s

out of the question! You know how small the chance is that I get custody.”

“Why not give it a try? Maybe Mr. Melendez will take a liking to you? Then you could be

with both Aiden and Alex!”

Although he really didn’t want Clara to go down that path, it didn’t seem like a bad idea

right now.

At least it would keep the kids safe, and she and Alex wouldn’t have to keep hiding.
