Chapter 209.2: You Truly Can Take My Life
Jing Wan gritted her teeth and went all out, releasing her grip and rapidly embracing his neck, standing on her tiptoes, kissing him. A certain someone’s eye’s lit up, actually correspondingly lowering his head a little. The benefit offered up, it’d be a waste to not accept. However, he also just did this, that’s all, neither reaching out, nor returning the kiss, very firmly telling Jing Wan, his unshakeable position.
Jing Wan lingered on his lips momentarily, using the tip of her nose to intimately rub against his chin, “As the saying goes, ‘I didn’t kill Bo Ren, but Bo Ren died because of me’[1]. Ah Yuan really bears letting me shoulder this kind of sinful debt?” She secretly swept him a glance, his expression seemingly softening somewhat. She persisted, “Moreover, at this time right now, you throwing me behind to go kill someone, is that really good?” She lightly rubbed against him, “Ah Yuan, standing on my tiptoes is really tiring.” That’s why, still need to quickly grow taller. The difference in height being too big isn’t good either.
At the same time, Jing Wan just heard a shattering sound. That was the sound of her integrity shattering.
Li Hong Yuan narrowed his eyes, reaching out to embrace her waist, letting her press close to him, lowering his head, and pressing his forehead against hers, “Wan Wan’s words are rather reasonable. The so called, ‘killing is common, yet a beauty’s favor is rare’. How can one, because of something common, pass over on something rare.” He had Jing Wan lifted and placed onto the bed, “This way, you won’t be tired.” And immediately after, climbed on himself.
An earth-shattering passion. Li Hong Yuan wasn’t any less merciful than from when he’d just entered. Probably because she’d pleaded for them just now, at this time, he very much wanted to compensate back.
Jing Wan wanted to suspected whether or not she was really going to be eaten by him tonight.
However, if it really comes down to that, she perhaps won’t reject either. ———-Regardless whether or not in the end, she will fall head first into his hand, aside from him, she probably won’t have another man.
Jing Wan was somewhat unable to withstand it under his hands and mouth, yet suddenly, she heard him say, “Tonight, will just temporarily let the off, when tomorrow comes………”
Jing Wan finally realized his meaning a delayed moment later, anger rising from the heart, shooting a kick over, “Still clinging on and not letting go? Actually, the two of them must be your true love, right? Jin Qinwang’s reputation of eating both men and women is quite well-known. If you’re really this desperate, then quickly get lost and go find them to be all lovey-dovey with. This miss, I, need to sleep, so won’t keep you company anymore.”
Li Hong Yuan also knew, if he continues on, she probably really will get angry, snorting, “Whether or not I eat both men and women, definitely will let you personally know from experience.”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAfterwards, for the entire night, Jing Wan indeed personally experienced.
Gong mama, who’d been kicked out by Li Hong Yuan from the start, diligently and conscientiously guarded the door, gazing up at the pitch black night sky, endlessly melancholic. Wangye was clearly just seizing the opportunity to stir up trouble, and miss even foolishly sent oneself to the door, right now getting eaten thoroughly. In the future, don’t know how she’ll get messed with by him.
However, Gong mama also knew, based on this living Enma’s temperament, if one doesn’t block, nine times out of ten, he really will just sort out those two young masters tonight. This attitude of being real when wanting to be real, and faking when wanting to pretend, based on miss’s personality, even if knowing his goal, she undoubtedly will still pacify him every time. This loss, one needed to suffer no matter what.
That’s why, Jing Wan was still unaware that she has already set foot on the pitiful path of ‘sacrificing herself to keep the world at peace’.
Once the stubbornness acts up, one needed to coax. If one doesn’t coax, or is slow at coaxing, he’ll just shake the heavens, shatter the earth, making the heavens rage, and the people complain. Yet, they had no way of dealing with him, and could only tearfully complain before Jing Wan. As the number of times increased, Jing Wan probably also learned from experience that as soon as the signs show up, just rapidly thinking of a way to extinguish it. It was best if it doesn’t get dragged onto the bed, but even if it does get dragged onto the bed, it was still better than waiting for this anger fire to soar to the extreme, and everything happens, yet still need to roll around on the bed for three days.
The next day, when it was time, they didn’t see Jing Wan getting up. However, her servant girls all didn’t go wake her, very much having a tacit understanding inside. As for morning exercise and what not, having exercised that much at night, the morning’s was just exempted. A certain someone still more or less left at the same time as usual, that refreshed and spirited look wasn’t the least bit like having ‘toiled’ for more than half the night. Gong mama clearly was angry, yet still needed to serve him in making him presentable.
Fortunately, Sun Yi Jia didn’t come looking, so Jing Wan was able to sleep until the sun reached the third pole[2].
To avoid letting unrelated people find out, after they settled down, she also just wiped her body, and it was even a certain wangye personally serving. And it was only until after she got up was the bath water finally brought in. Because it was long past Jing Wan’s usual bath time, they even needed to find an excuse to avoid arousing suspicion. The servants won’t comment on the masters, but for the others, especially on Luo Old Madam’s side, it wasn’t easy to explain. One should know from just thinking about it, something that is very habitual on normal days suddenly breaking, no matter who, would all question whether or not something happened.
Seeing the markings on Jing Wan’s body that were more numerous, and more concentrated, than any other time previously, especially on her chest, lower abdomen, lower back, the insides of her thighs, and such areas, seemingly unable to make out her original skin color, the servant girls were flushed red with embarrassment, her wet nurse helpless, while Gong mama was further unable to vent her anger. Even if he’s never touch women before, still don’t need to be this ruthless. Miss was still small, still that tender, even if a beast, should still know to take pity a little.
After time and time again, in this aspect, Jing Wan’s face has also thickened. Even with this appearance, under the servant girls’ gaze, she was still like usual, leaning against the edge of the bathtub, lazily and somewhat listless. Her body actually didn’t have any problems. After all, she exercised regularly, her body’s flexibility very good, so won’t have aches and sores appearing from not having exercised in a long time from the slightest intense actions. She was just a bit sleep deprived.
Rather, seeing that appearance of Gong mama’s, every time a certain living Enma came, her face would just darken. But aside from sulking at her, there was probably no other use. Jing Wan turned in the waters, her chin resting against her folded arms, opening her mouth with a shallow smile, “Mama, don’t be like this, it’s not like it hurts.”
“Miss, it’s not this servant nagging you, but don’t indulge Jin Qinwang. This kind of thing, as the number of times increase, it’ll damage the body. Right now you’re still young.” Towards Li Hong Yuan, she was full of resentment, and towards Jing Wan, it was also a bit of ‘hating the iron for not becoming steel’.
Jing Wan faintly withdrew her neck. It wasn’t just the other party that lusted after pleasure. She also was that tiny bit lustful, just that tiny bit.
Probably for the sake of covering up that little bit of guilty conscience of hers, Jing Wan changed the topic, “Yesterday, older cousin Min and Gentleman Sun came over, and immediately afterwards, he found out. Mama, say, do you think he has people watching our Luo family gates?”
This time, it was Gong mama’s turn to have a bit of a guilty conscience. However, yesterday’s matter, she didn’t pass on a message to him, purely because it was nothing to begin with, just worrying that his vinegar jars will overturn. Yet in the end, as long as it was people that have the slightest special relation with miss, their movements will still attract his attention.
Not having received an answer from Gong mama, Jing Wan didn’t insist on getting an answer. How could Gong mama know about his matters.
By the time Jing Wan came out from the waters, wiped dry the water droplets, applied some ointment that can erase the markings sooner, put on her clothes, dried her hair, her attire orderly, one actually wasn’t able to see any markings.
Even if one encounters those with especially sharp eyes, making out that tiny bit of clue from her brows, as long as they don’t think in this direction, it won’t arouse suspicion either.
Jing Wan first went to Luo Old Madam’s place. Luo Old Madam’s gaze sweep over her, and when Jing Wan was feeling a bit uneasy, she nonchalantly retracted her gaze again, and as usual said some idle talk. Jing Wan whittled away the time at her place, and she didn’t have the intention of kicking her out either. Unsure as if whether or not it was just her misconception, but Jing Wan kept feeling that her grandmother seemingly knew about her matter with Jin Qinwang. Just, because she loved her dearly and forgave her for everything, she never pointed it out bluntly, giving her absolute trust, believing she won’t do anything that will be disadvantageous towards the Luo family. And among this, perhaps there was also the trust towards Jin Qinwang.
Everything else aside, there was one thing that was very obvious. Despite Jin Qinwang’s reputation being that bad, grandmother has never expressed her discontent towards this marriage, and never expressed her worry towards her future either. Based on her grandmother’s care towards her, even if she bottled it up inside, she still wouldn’t not show the slightest hint of it. That’s why, sure enough, there was something she didn’t know.
Jing Wan suddenly embraced Luo Old Madam’s arm, coquettishly rubbing against it.
“What’s wrong?” Luo Old Madam looked to her in confusion.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmJing Wan smiled, “Nothing, just wanted to be close with grandmother.”
Luo Old Madam smilingly patted her hand, and didn’t continue question either.
After the afternoon mean and the afternoon nap, Jing Wan headed to Sun Yi Jia’s place. Third brother, Luo Jing Bo, had gone out again. Among the five of them, he occasionally would be even more busy than Luo Pei Shan. “Literature gathering? This ‘ban’ has been lifted?”
“Seems to be set up by the people above, as if everyone has been restrained long enough. The arrangements for the follow-up of the flooding have also for the most part been settled, in addition to needing to return to the capital soon, one can rather take this opportunity to play around some more. Even his Majesty said, it seemingly has been cold and cheerless for the long time. The imperial consorts and concubines in the imperial summer residence have started strolling the garden in beautiful attires again.”
“Where did you hear all this from? You, a pregnant person that doesn’t go out, already know, yet I don’t know?”
“Learned just this morning. It was also because of your third brother who got dragged out by the current imperial exam’s flower-snatcher without an invitation card. That’s why I would know.”
“Yesterday, the top three candidates of the imperial exam, as well as your fifth brother, this number one gentleman of the capital, had arrived. That’s probably why this literature gathering would finally have some headway.” It really wasn’t Jing Wan belittling anyone, but rather, the ones that came along to the imperial summer residence were mostly noble young masters of the imperial family and aristocratic families. Majority of these people similarly just idled about, and even if posing as a lover of culture, to be able to actually participate in the refined scholarly activities, there really weren’t many. “Since there isn’t an invitation card, a last minute literature gathering shouldn’t have any restrictions, right? Elder sister-in-law, how about we go have a look?”
“This………” Sun Yi Jia looked to her own stomach, slightly hesitating.
[1] The story behind proverb comes from ‘History of the Jin Dynasty: Biography 39’; meaning ‘although I resent Bo Ren, I never wanted to kill him, but because of my resentment, it caused Bo Ren to be killed; Bo Ren’s death is indirectly related to me’.
Bo Ren is the courtesy name of Zhou Yi, a high official of the Jin dynasty. During the Jin dynasty, a powerful general named Wang Dun raised an army and revolted, becoming a rebellious warlord. His younger brother Wang Dao, who was a civil official, was thus implicated because of him, along with their entire clan. For the sake of pleading for mercy, Wang Dao led along the Wang clan’s younger generation, and knelt outside the palace, waiting for the Emperor to issue an order. At this time, Zhou Yi (aka Bo Ren) entered the palace. Wang Dao begged Zhou Yi to say a few good words for him in front of the Emperor, telling him that the entire Wang clan’s hundreds of lives all depended on him. Zhou Yi ignored him and pretended not to hear, but in front of the Emperor, Zhou Yi did plea for Wang Dao, and the Emperor accepted his suggestion. Zhou Yi then stayed and drank with the Emperor, and when he left, Wang Dao was still kneeling outside. However, Zhou Yi continued to ignore him, but when Zhou Yi returned home, he hurriedly wrote a memorandum, earnestly pleading to the Emperor on Wang Dao’s behalf.
However, Wang Dao didn’t know that Zhou Yi had saved him, instead very much resented him. Afterwards, when Wang Dun seized control of the court, Zhou Yi was eventually killed by him. It wasn’t until when Wang Dao was looking through the documents did he find what Zhou Yi had wrote for him. Thus, this proverb came to be. I cut out a lot of details but this is roughly the story behind it.
