It would seem that area featured many weaker magical beasts since a big stream of different colored cores flew towards him. They numbered a bit more than 100. He could only wonder why the last time hadn't been like that.
Still, he recalled the presence of tier 4 beasts. Maybe they had sent them away.
He stored the essentially useless cores and flew away from that area after letting silver ice spread on the field of destruction.
Over the course of his nine days of travel, Noah had advanced relatively slowly, but he had come dangerously close to settlements, so much so that he could already sense one. But things were different.
Multiple tier 4 cultivators were resent in the settlement and it wasn't even that large.
"Shall I teleport to the guild," he wondered, descending into the forest. He wasn't looking for trouble even if he knew how could handle it.
Still, he needed to know the current situation of things. Memories of the emissary of the guild council being wiped out returned to his mind.
Descendants of a royal house had been caught in the crossfire. He knew that the event would have garnered great issues in the nation. He only didn't know to what extent.
Noah toned down the expression of his power. But the fact remained that he wasn't human. And even magical beasts could sense it. Including humans.
He started to walk toward the city at that point, while considerations upon considerations appeared in his mind.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHe could return to the guild but that would put him under the oath again. Speaking of which, even if he had basically died many times his human form still carried faint traces of the oath.
Noah could feel his body getting rid of it, however. He estimated a few years and the oath would be gone from him. Destroyed. He liked the guild though. He still had a few individuals he considered important.
Before he returned there after a bit more than 3 decades, he figured he would understand the situation of things before leaving for the guild.
In short, he wanted to test the humans there, but he didn't want his face seen, even if only him would have such a unique aura.
A mask appeared in his palm and he placed it on his face.
The faceless demon mask was an item in the third tier so it couldn't merge with his face, but all Noah needed was to cover his face with something.
Unfortunately, it turned to dust a few seconds after it came in contact with his face. Noah had to settle for Muliix's silver and black helmet.
His defensive item had increased in terms of cosmetic beauty and a few other abilities had been unlocked.
He had learned after checking things out that Muliix could now camouflage itself as other attires. An illusion. But normal clothes still felt better to Noah. Still, he knew he would need to let go of comfort for usefullness.
Which Muliix's helmet visible to the world, Noah rose himself up with a platform of air and shattered the sound barrier to almost immediately arrive before the settlement's gate. A small city.
His arrival brought forth the rushing of violent winds and dust. The days when his movement couldn't hurt the environment were over.
Stopping right in front of the big blue gate he stayed still. The commotion of his arrival had entered the city and his presence scared away the tier 3 cultivators.
Noah didn't have to wait long until two streaks flew across the sky to arrive in front of him. Their movement had been slow to Noah.
A man and a woman. Both individuals within the lower stage. But the female felt ready to undergo a breakthrough into the middle stage, while the man remained a bit far from that point.
Noah's silence was deafening, especially with the dark and heavy aura that surrounded him as a result of his Death Lord skill.
Both individuals gazed at the strange helmet the man before them, had on. The silver light that came out of its eye sockets felt piercing.
"What is the situation of the nation?" Noah's voice reverberated through the world before him. He didn't even apply his power to it, but the world around him still shook.
The lady glanced at the man and he nodded.
"Who are you? I've not seen a person like you... If you are one," The lady summed up her courage to speak. Deep down she shook. Her instincts trembled greatly. She had only arrived there for less than a minute but wanted to leave already.
"I am Noah," Answered the figure, but that barely gave the two experts any satisfaction.
"What is the situation of Cusk?" Noah asked again. He could smell the fear from his audience. The fear of the many lower-powered cultivators behind the wall. The fear of the beasts relatively close by.
His nose felt heavy from the different scents he now associated with fear. It was a perk of being a speedling. He understood the reason and made known his intention.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"I have no reason to fight you and I have not come to do that," Noah stated remaining eerily still. Merely his lack of movement disturbed the experts.
Both experts exchanged glances at that point. The man, if they could even call him a man had said he desired no conflict. Could they trust him, they wondered. The answer was no.
They would not have lived that long had they trusted the words of people or things so easily.
Nevertheless, his words brought about a mild breeze of ease.
"Sir Noah, I am Helena. The second in charge of this city. We have been ordered to allow no suspicious individuals into this city. I'll have to ask you to leave," she bowed mid-air noticing his inability to float.
"I never intended to enter. All I need to know is the situation of the nation. Are things good in the world," Noah cleared out.
"I recently returned after a long seclusion into the fourth tier," he explained seeing that they still felt on edge.
His words brought forth astonishment.
"You're newly advanced," Helena blurted out,
Noah nodded calmly and he watched both figure float backward in apprehension. He officially was more dangerous.
"Will I get an answer from you?" He asked already ready to leave. He would go to the guild at that point.
The duo frowned at that juncture, He didn't seem ready to do anything bad, they technically had no reason to deny him.
"You'll have to have been gone for over thirty years to not know anything," Helena started.
"Yes," Noah replied. She shook her head.
"In that case, there's a war currently occurring in the Cusk nation, and it all started due to the deaths of certain highly important individuals."
