"From that point, I believe even I should be able to trace their movements. There are still chances that they are still there," Noah explained folding the paper and letting it disappear into his inventory. There were so many things he had the liberty of not having to hide anymore.
"If you believe so, I'll not go against your words," Nora bowed again, and Noah, although understanding the reason for that action opened his mouth to speak.
"Since when was I worthy of respect?" He asked unable to feel amusement.
"Since you called upon your golem to assist you in the battle," Nora clarified still shaking from the scene that could replay In her mind. His display had been valiant and dominant.
Furthermore that he had experienced many level-ups she instantly knew she couldn't kill him if she wanted. How had he reached the middle stage so quickly? She had no idea but recalled his words about only moving according to what benefited him.
"I see. Then don't overdo it. I might react negatively," Noah revealed even if his eyes remained calm and his tone soft.
Nora furrowed her brows at that point and she straightened her back in response to his words. She cleared her throat.
"This will be your room, uh, Noah," She started. "Since you wish to stay a day we won't disturb your stay," She bowed again before proceeding to approach the exit, which she did and left.
Noah watched her leave with utter silence and stood when she finally left.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"I hate disturbances. If you're here to fight let's get over with it," his tone was sharp and his eyes cold. His gaze snapped toward the room's window and he watched the very fabric of space tremble at his gaze.
"Your awareness is impossible. You truly as powerful as they say you are," a masculine voice pierced the camouflage to reach Noah's ears.
"If you don't reveal yourself I will consider you hostile and destroy half this city if I have to," Noah announced, his tone unchanged but he meant every word.
"I was not sent to fight. But after you killed Kir, things have gotten annoying," the fabric of space shifted and the figure of a man clothed in a completely white garment unfolded in Noah's eyes.
He could have tried to bend the light around him to reveal him, but he preferred the person did so themselves.
"Your prowess has made those less stronger than you unable to be deployed," the masked man continued switching to a slightly different subject.
"I had to watch your battle with those elves. You're stronger than you revealed. And even now..." His words faded away and a smile appeared on his features from behind the veil he wore.
"What do you want?" Noah asked understanding the man's power. He was well within the higher stage.
"I have come to announce to you. Five attempts will be made on your life, if they all fail you will be summoned by the immortals themselves. I have no idea what they tend to do to you at that point," the man explained remaining in his upright position.
"I already killed one of your own. She was weak. What more lives do you need to waste," Noah mocked but his audience remained level-headed.
"Kir was never meant to fight you. She disobeyed direct orders thinking she could but had been unfortunate to meet a monster like you," The man shook his head in pity.
"Just like the many who will be deceived by your power. You're an abomination," the man added.
"But I guess that doesn't hurt you. You hold the title of a death lord. I am only able to know this thanks to my encounter with a few ones," the man explained and Noah only continued to stare forward.
"It is what it is. The individuals sent after you will be genuine monsters and they'll be able to give a good fight even for you," the man explained.
"I doubt," Noah revealed. "Only if they are within the higher stage can they pose any threat. If not forget about it."
A grin appeared on the man's face behind his white veil. He had allowed Noah to fall into his real mission.
"Thank you for admitting that to the world. We shall see that only individuals at that level are sent," the man explained performing a bow.
Noah understood but he felt nothing from finding that he had played into the hands of the man. He had never even thought speaking could be some form of validation.
"Whatever. Get out of here now," Noah ordered.
The man bowed again at that point. "Till we meet again, heir of the god of speed," he stated and Noah watched as a series of blue magical circles expanded around him and he disappeared when they closed up on him.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThe air stopped being stale at that point and he shook his head to lie on his bed. His mind wandered into the scenes of his battle.
He had sensed the presence ever since the higher-stage female elf had revealed herself.
Noah rested even if he didn't need it, it was nice, however.
Time passed as his achievement settled. Many found it hard that one man had been able to wipe out a base of the elves. One man.
Night eventually arrived and Noah only had to wait a bit before the next day arrived. He teleported from within the cultivation room and sensed the arrival of Nora.
Noah opened the door as soon as she reached it and his senses sharpened to understand that powerful individuals were approaching the city.
"I understand," Noah stated before she could even speak. "I will be on my way now," he announced walking past her to approach the exit of that building.
"I advise staying and receiving the praises. The royal family will be more than generous," Nora tried to advertise the benefits of staying.
"No," He refused. "Take the praise for all I care."
Nora stopped dead in her tracks simulating such a turn of events. Her face twisted, however. She had not the power to hope to do such a thing, and even if they believed she would only be endangering herself as she would be deployed to other more dangerous places.
"I cannot steal someone else's achievement," She played it off with an honorable statement.
"You can't take that type of responsibility, to begin with," Noah countered making her expression waver.
"Make anything up. Till next time, Nora," Noah announced stepping onto the platform of air before him. He ascended into the sky and shot out of that area, transforming into a silver streak.
Nora had not been able to say anything since the instant he left five figures arrived with the shattering of the sound barrier.
