It didn't take long for the duo to arrive before a wide area of land featuring hundreds of seats around it. This location remained only about three miles from the city's capital, so it wasn't too far.
The arena contained blue sand, which had its usefulness.
The seats that had been made available around the arena were mostly scanty, but a minimum of about one-fifty individuals sat to spectate.
Already, a fight was going on, but it wasn't James.
Flickering close to the area with utter silence, the duo put on their cloaks and walked into the area featuring those high chairs. A short black 2m wall had been built roundabout the arena, but no one stood at the gate allowing for free entry.
Noah and Erolia had opted to cross the wall and find a seat. Those chairs were elevated about 1.5m above the ground.
Those who coordinated the event were elves, at least there were elves amongst them. The rest were humans. All that those individuals did was scan them for any items that could boost their powers.
The rules stated that only a cultivator's real power was allowed. Weapons were not even allowed as they could possess abilities that boosted the individual's prowess too much. Only martial arts; if they mastered any, and spells were allowed.
The match would end when they removed a chunk of the self-healing dummy. They couldn't exactly destroy it due to its already higher stage level, but mimicking lower levels allowed the dummy to fall apart when hit with something above that level or after consistent hits.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAll a fighter needed to do was hit the dummy until it fell apart. It would be a bit difficult considering the dummy was 15% stronger.
Remaining distant from the other spectators, Noah caught sight of James sitting at a particular point on the other side of the arena.
The moment Noah's gaze fell on his shoulders the expert dislodged his attention from the ongoing battle to lock gazes with Noah about 900m away from him.
Noah felt two gazes land on his body, however. The invisible individual was present. As always.
James nodded at Noah from the distance and he nodded in return before both experts focused once again on the battle between the lady and the dummy.
Both figures quite literally flickered across the battlefield fighting at speeds only those in the fourth tier could dream of following. Every now and then sonic booms would unfold into the world as that high sped battle increased in intensity.
Hundreds of punches, kicks, and many evasive maneuvers Noah could watch that battle as easily as ever. They were even moving slowly compared to what he was capable of.
Soon spells came into the mix and the entire arena soon became filled with blue flames. With that fighting space being too little for existence in the fourth tier, it was easy enough for the lady's fiery attacks to fill up the entire space. Thankfully a barrier existed between them and the spectators.
At that juncture in the fight, only those with powerful eyes could pierce the flames and watch the battle unfold.
To Noah, those blue flames were simply blue lenses, he could still follow the battle.
The dummy remained spectacular in its way. In truth, all it needed was a pair of clothing and one would mistake it for a real human.
Its movements were fluid and its attacks were just as powerful as ever. The lady soon began to struggle. It would seem the fifteen-percent gap was far more than she could take.
She had managed to remove chunks of its skin, but that was all. Those wounds even for a human would be considered light. Heck even if a fourth-tier entity lost their arm they could still fight.
At this point, Noah felt interested in the dummy. He wondered if it could take someone like him on. After all, even he would be fighting it at a fifteen-percent difference.
The battle ended when the dummy's fist landed on the lady's face. Its punch sent her crashing into the ground before bouncing back into the air with great force.
A kick landed on her side crushing bones and making organs fail. The lady crashed into the ground and did not stand again. She was still alive but had been knocked unconscious which signified the dummy's win.
The attacks had occurred in less than two seconds, but Noah had been able to watch it pretty easily.
"It's tough," even he commented seeing the dummy's -obsidian black surface light up with purple and green lights. The sand on the ground suddenly saw green inscriptional lines lighting up its surface, all those lines converging below the dummy's feet.
The dummy repaired its damages as its level rose to its original state.
The lady's companions came and took her away. She had suffered more internal injuries than external.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmIt was James' turn, and their eyes locked gazes again, and Noah saw that the man still did not seem worried.
That scene remained interesting, making Noah review the expert's strength.
'Could my senses have been deceived?' He wondered, understanding that even with his great abilities he could still fall short in certain areas. He wasn't all-powerful and all-understanding.
Noah usually relied on his basic senses to inspect the levels of humans, but he understood that his account did not factor in external sources of power.
Just like how his actual level remained in the middle stage but he could attain close to the fifth tier by transforming. Anyone who inspected him would at most understand that he could threaten higher staged cultivators, but they would not know about his skill capable of taking him one whole tier higher.
The only skill that could allow him to consider the entire power of an individual was the eye of the death lord skill since it remained something that transcended sense and reason to look into the very aspects of a person,
If that skill was activated on even Noah, whoever planned to fight him would see exactly how strong he was, all his skills weapons, and technique's considered. His whole life and achievement in terms of power would be laid bare and put in numerical value.
With that in mind, Noah did no more than activate the Eye of the Death Lord ability. Erolia watched him with interest and to her surprise Noah's now dark eyes suddenly flickered.
"Oh-oh… This is interesting. Simply outstanding," Noah's lips curved in a cold smile as what the skill displayed could be no less than outstanding.
James walked down the stairs towards the staff of the match, but his figure flared with a terrible amount of dark miasma. Noah had to raise his gaze to completely see how tall that miasma was.
"It seems our James has gotten many tricks up his sleeve," Noah muttered, understanding just how much of a threat James was to him. A single number appeared in his head, shattering the belief that James was weak.
