"Noah, why are we leaving?" Erolia's voice rang out in Noah's mind and they streaked past the regions towards a place only Noah knew they were going.
"The outcome of the battle has already been decided. There's no need to anticipate," Noah explained, sprinting at speeds incapable of being followed by many.
"But we could have at least seen his display…" Erolia pouted, and Noah replied immediately after.
"I dropped a recorder for that purpose, it'll return to me when the battle is over," Noah explained. Although he found no reason to wait around, he still wanted to see what his old friend was capable of.
They traversed the regions until Noah came to a stop above a small forest about 3km in size. Somewhere within those bundle of trees was a pond of shimmering blue water, and just as the leader of the gang he had defeated said; a winged statue sat on the ground, halfway into the terrain.
Noah did not allow his feet to touch the ground since he now fully believed the words the man had spoken.
"There are hundreds of traps placed around the pond since only those who know what they are looking for find it. Meaning either permitted individuals or leaked information." He muttered, saying the same words the man had conveyed.
Apparently, some of the answers he needed concerning the event beneath the domains of the noble families would be found under that pond.
Noah remained in the sky, gazing at the shimmering liquid whilst the faked serenity of that environment permeated the world around it.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAccording to the man, the most well-known trap was the pond's ability to teleport an individual to a different location before spitting them out hours later. Dead.
The individuals that had been unlucky enough to have this happen to them always returned with clawed marks all over their figures or missing body parts.
They believed the krets were the cause of this, or something else.
Unfortunately, no one had ever properly infiltrated that place before, only that information had been leaked about experiments going on in certain areas within the city, that place being one of them.
"There's a reason only we are here," Noah spoke, addressing Erolia after filling her in on what he had found out.
"We have a chance of leaving this place without dying, but we need to understand how to penetrate the structure beneath it." He continued.
"I can sense hundreds of traps that will be difficult for even me to disable. We can't simply dig. There's need for a teleportation into that place."
"But it's right beneath us… isn't it?" Erolia asked a bit confused. "If we dug deep enough shouldn't that suffice at some point?"
"No. I don't think whatever is beneath us was meant to be accessed without magic. I'm certain you can at least sense the interesting amount of mana."
"We can dig far enough that we even arrive beneath the structure, but that doesn't mean we can actually enter it. We'll have to break into it for that and that would cause too much noise…" Noah explained.
"Not that it's impossible for me…" He added and Erolia could only nod, even if she still didn't fully understand.
"We'll have to come back some other time. There's still too much I do not know. The underground systems below the domains of the noble families don't feature any such thing so it should b easier to enter them," Noah explained.
"What are we going to do now?" Erolia asked, floating around him with her arms around her knees.
"We need a three-day recording of the domains and I still need to start creating the said inscriptions. I'd have asked that we simply waited, but we need to understand what is going on beneath those domains. So that's what we'll go do now." He revealed his thoughts.
"It's still early in the morning today, hopefully, we can be done in two days," he commented.
"We're going exploring then," Erolia exclaimed floating upside down. She cherished that ability for its ease. Her master on the other hand till needed to stand.
"If you put it that way. Yes…" Noah replied, nodding his head.
"Let's go," he announced, grabbing her with his mental waves and sprinting out of that region. They returned to the domain of the Earl family.
The moment Noah arrived there he could sense his hidden orbs. He ignored them to land on the terrain.
He unfolded his consciousness immediately and allowed a vast amount of land area to appear in his mind.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmErolia stayed close to his figure as Noah concealed the events that were about to occur.
Sparks flowed out of his palm as he placed it on the harsh ground. Noah allowed blades of light to manifest around him and they stabbed into the ground going through it like hot knife on butter.
Noah spent the next few seconds as silent as he could be. He created holes big enough for him and Erolia.
'I might need to learn the earth element,' he considered understanding how easy it would have been had he grasped that element. It would take time to learn, and he didn't have much of it in that situation.
Jumping into the said hole and sealing them shut with silver ice, Noah and Erolia found themselves traveling through a tunnel far below the surface.
The deeper they went, the more intense the malevolent aura became, and even Erolia frowned as it had increased to levels she did not anticipate.
"We're about to reach its end," Noah spoke stopping the searing blade of light from cutting the ground anymore.
"Carry me," Noah commanded Erolia who immediately allowed herself to start floating. They fell out of the tunnel having crossed more than 2000m from the surface.
To her astonishment, a wide underground expanse unfolded in her cerulean gaze. Its size, simply incredible.
But this would not be the more shocking detail, that title would go to the huge pool of ominous radiant deep-green liquid which gave birth to smaller pools stretching towards every point in the underground expanse.
And to even more of Erolia's shock, out of those pools came hundreds of grotesque creatures all converging towards one direction. Chills swept her figure and she almost dropped Noah.
