Chapter 185 Our Dream Home
Julian smiled and said, “It must be fate.”
Sybil pulled Henry and gestured at him, hooking her finger.
Henry immediately leaned over.
Sybil’s expression was mysterious. She smiled and said to Henry, “Did you notice? Julian has been smiling like a fool
since signing that marriage certificate.”
Henry nodded vigorously. “I noticed it long ago.”
Sybil smiled and lowered her voice. “People used to say that being in love would make one soft. I thought that no
matter how much Julian changed, he wouldn’t smile this often. I didn’t see this coming at all.”
Henry also lowered his voice. “So, are you interested in dating someone, too?”
Sybil rolled her eyes. “God, no. I have such a bubbly personality. If I were to fall in love, wouldn’t my face be
wrinkled up from smiling so much?”
“Pfft…” Henry imagined Sybil’s wrinkled face and burst out laughing.
“What are you laughing at?” Sybil quipped.
The two of them looked at the stage again.
On the stage….
Gwen was so angry that she rebuked Annalise. “You’re spouting nonsense. Traditional medicine practitioners. like
you are so ridiculous. You’re spouting nonsense everywhere because your prescriptions don’t cause immediate
harm. Whenever you treat a patient, you either say that their kidney is deficient or it’s hyperactive. Otherwise, it’s
either the liver, the lungs, or the heart that is hyperactive. No one can prove those things exist, after all. So all you
do is prescribe some traditional medicine and tell the patient to finish it. And you call that a healing treatment?
What a joke.”
Annalise raised her eyebrows slightly. “What do you mean, no one can prove it? Aren’t you coming over tomorrow?
I’ll see those pimples on your face tomorrow, but you insist that no one can prove it. Do you think everyone here is
blind?”
Gwen was speechless. Sharp-tongued women were so frustrating.
Gwen had always thought of herself as quite eloquent, but she did not expect Annalise to be so sassy.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWhen Mina heard Annalise saying that Gwen’s face would have a breakout the next day, she immediately took the
microphone and said, “Ms. Barton, how about this? Let’s make a bet. If Gwen has no acne tomorrow, you should
admit before everyone that traditional medicine practitioners are no good.”
Mina was in complete shock. Were traditional medicine practitioners that incredible? Annalise only took one look at
Gwen, and she knew that Gwen suffered from insomnia and would soon have a breakout.
Mina desperately wanted to make this bet.
If what Annalise said was true and Gwen would have pimples the next day, why should she learn modern medicine?
She would learn traditional medicine instead.
“No problem. Similarly, if her face has a breakout tomorrow, you should admit before everyone that modern
medicine is no good. However, it seems like you can’t make the decision alone. You can discuss it among
yourselves. I’m guessing you won’t dare to make this bet because you’re afraid of losing.” Annalise taunted.
“Ms. Barton, you sure are confident. Now, I have to ask. You’re only a junior debater. Does your bet count? Can you
represent your entire team of traditional medicine practitioners?” Gwen was equally direct.
“Of course, she can,” said Jonathan, the first speaker.
At first, a few other debaters in the traditional medicine team thought Annalise was too impulsive. But after seeing
Jonathan personally taking part in the bet, they were relieved.
Jonathan was a disciple of Joseph Quigley, the medical expert. He would only agree to partake in the bet if he had a
winning chance.
Gwen immediately told the first speaker of the modern medicine team about the bet.
He was in a difficult position.
Gwen lowered her voice. She guaranteed the first speaker that her face would not have a breakout tomorrow.
He asked Gwen how she was going to guarantee it.
Gwen said that she was not only a modern medicine doctor but had also studied traditional medicine since she was
young. When she got home later, she would immediately cool her body down with various methods and ensure that
she would not get pimples tomorrow.
“Okay.” The first speaker was convinced. He agreed to the bet.
Annalise stood up and said, “Then, let’s end today’s debate. Tomorrow, we’ll see which is better, modern or
traditional medicine.”
Gwen was furious. “Ms. Barton, by doing this, you’re simply disregarding the rules and the judges.”
Gwen tried to evoke some sense of dissatisfaction among the judges.
Unexpectedly, the chief judge said, “Since you guys have agreed to a bet, I think it’s a good way to settle this
debate. Let’s use the outcome of the bet as the outcome of the debate competition.”
There were traditional medicine and modern medicine practitioners among the judges. Earlier, all of them had
witnessed the debate, but they still could not come to a conclusion. This bet would save them some
trouble.
Annalise stood up. When she walked past Gwen, she provoked her on purpose. “Do you know how I cured Old
Madam Zeller that day? I listened to your suggestion. Didn’t you say you wanted to open the window and let the air
circulate? You also wanted to give her a deep tissue massage and open all the meridians in her body. Afterward, I
asked everyone to leave and massaged her. I didn’t expect your medical skills to be so good. Once the air started
circulating, and after I massaged her, she did recover.”
Annalise knew that taunting Gwen in that manner would frustrate her to death. Even if Gwen drank several pitchers
of chamomile tea and boxes of Vitamin C sachets, she would not be able to suppress her anger.
Once Gwen was frustrated, her organs would be hyperactive. Her body would heat up. She would lose sleep that
night and have a breakout the next day.
After speaking to Gwen, Annalise walked down the stage.
Hurriedly, Julian stood and picked up the bouquet of beautiful roses he had prepared beforehand. He walked
towards Annalise.
“Annie, you did so well.” Julian could not help but praise Annalise.
Annalise had been very calm and composed, but her face turned red after hearing Julian’s praise.
“Are you done for the day?” Julian asked.
“Yes,” Annalise replied.
“Let’s go, then. I’ll take you out to dinner.” Julian held Annalise’s hand.
“It’s only ten o’clock.” Annalise did not know whether to laugh or cry.
“It’d be almost time when we get there.” Julian seemed to be in a hurry.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmJulian led Annalise out of the convention center.
“Why do I feel like we’re always eating?” Annalise sat in the passenger seat with the bouquet in her arms. She could
not help but laugh.
She was right. Julian did take her to different restaurants every day.
Julian was driving. He smiled. “It’s because the most important thing in life is to eat three meals a day.”
Annalise burst out laughing.
Her eyes crinkled as she hugged the rose.
Although eating seemed to be something so simple, Julian was right. The most important thing in life was to eat
three meals a day.
Julian drove Annalise to a villa complex.
Annalise wondered if there were more famous restaurants in that complex.
But after a while, Julian drove straight to a villa and stopped.
After stopping the car, he quickly walked around the front of the car and opened the door. He said gently to
Annalise, “Come on out.”
Annalise got off immediately.
After getting out of the car, Julian led Annalise around the villa.
Annalise saw that the villa had a backyard and a swimming pool.
The flowers in the garden were gorgeous. All of them were in season. A few golden chrysanthemums were in full
bloom, and they looked brilliant.
Julian took Annalise’s hand and opened the door with her fingerprint. The interior of the villa was magnificent. The
floor was paved with roses in the shape of a heart.
“Do you like it?” Julian asked gently.
“What is this?” Annalise was shocked.
“It’s our dream home. Since we’re married, we’ll live here from now on,” Julian said.
“Dream home?” Annalise was surprised and pleasantly surprised.
Annalise was happy to live with Julian at the Parks family’s residence. She could keep his grandfather company and
live alongside his family.
However, knowing they would have a home all to themselves, she was even happier.
