Normal surgery wouldn't affect one's voice, but if the surgery was more invasive, it might.
Bernard thought for a moment and shook his head. "I don't remember, and there's no record in the files. But | do remember she
had a serious illness once."
After the incident with Daphne, Bernard was busy looking for Hera and wasn't concerned with the Killian family.
Hera narrowed her eyes. Identifying someone solely by their voice would be difficult and require effort.
"Maybe we could look for past interviews with Linda and see if we can match the voice," Bernard suggested.
Hera didn't dismiss the idea. She opened her browser and started searching, only to find that the interviews with Linda that she
thought existed were nowhere to be found.
"Lethelp. It'll go faster." Bernard pulled over a chair.

Hera didn't refuse and moved aside. She let him use theputer while she opened her laptop.
The two of them sat at the sdesk, each focused on their own screen.
During this time, Hera stepped out to use the restroom. When she returned, she noticed a bottle of red wine and two glasses on
the desk.
Bernard took a sip of wine. "I'm feeling a bit tired. A little wine might wakeup. Would you like some?"
Hera knew she was bad with alcohol and suspected Bernard was doing this on purpose. She declined, "No, thanks. You should go
hif you're tired."
She had never heard of drinking wine to stay awake.
"It's fine. | can hold out a bit longer." Bernard hummed.
Hera watched as he deliberately dragged out the time. Before she knew it, it was half past midnight.
"Oh, it's late." Bernard feigned surprise and sighed. "Douglas is probably asleep, and I've had swine, so | can't drive. Do you
mind if | stay for the night?"
He stared at Hera expectantly.
Hera snorted to herself. It was all a ploy! She knew there was no such thing as drinking wine to stay awake.
Hera smirked. "Sure, just go down the hall."
That was the guest room.
Bernard sighed to himself. Did this trick not work on women anymore?
Meanwhile, Wayne got off the bus with a basketball and headed toward his neighborhood. He was surprised when he saw Everly
stepping out of a Lamhini with the Chfamily's license plate.

Why was Everly getting out of a car owned by the Chfamily?
He quickened his pace. As the Lamhini drove away, Wayne caught a glimpse of the driver. It was none other than the Chime
family's eldest son, Marcus!
After Everly got out, she headed straight into the neighborhood when she heard Wayne calling her from behind. "Everly."
She turned to see Wayne running over with a basketball in his arms and suddenly felt guilty. She quickly glanced over at the road,
but Marcus was already gone. Wayne probably hadn't seen anything, right?
She tried to mask her guilt with a smile. "Did you play basketball with Mr. Sanderson again?"
Wayne hummed, walking into the neighborhood with her. He asked, "Where did you go?"
Everly shrugged. "I went out with a friend."
"And your friend is the Chfamily's eldest son?" Wayne questioned.
