When Rachel saw Rhette out, her worry that Hera might leave immediately vanished. Her job was to wait for Hera and bring
her to Rhett. If Hera had left, it would have been on her. But now that Rhett hade out and seen Hera, her job was done.
Whether Hera stayed or left was no longer her concern.
In fact, Rachel secretly hoped that Hera would leave. She didn't think Hera deserved the high salary the Killian Corporation was
offering.
With that thought, Rachel quickly said, "Mr. Rhett, sorry to keep you waiting. Ms. Youngworth just arrived."
She emphasized Hera's late arrival.
Irritation crossed Rhett's eyes. He had been waiting and hade out to see what was going on. If it had been anyone else, he
wouldn't have bothered to meet them. But Hera was rmended by Chad.

e inside. Let's talk," he said with a stern expression.
"Your secretary has declined our collaboration on your behalf, Mr. Rhett. | don't think there's anything left to discuss," Hera replied
calmly.
Rhett glanced at Rachel. He had promoted her not just for herpetence but also because she knew how to read the room and
handle situations.
He had to maintain a certain image as the CEO of Killian Corporation, so there were things he couldn't personally do and had to
delegate to his secretary. Rachel usually understood his intentions and carried out tasks to his liking.
So even though he was aware she had been making things difficult for Hera, he turned a blind eye to it.
But Hera made it clear that she wasn't going to let the matter slide.
"Ms. Youngworth, please don't joke around. I'm just a secretary. How could | possibly make decisions for the CEO? Don't slander
me!" Rachel quickly defended herself.
"Slander?" Hera snorted. "Killian Corporation's employees lack professionalism and speak without thinking. | doubt the rest of the
Rhett frowned while Rachel felt a burst of joy. She hoped the deal was off as she didn't want to see Hera around.
"Don't you want to know more about her?" Rhett asked. He was referring to Daphne.
Hera paused. This was the reason why she was here, but she couldn't appear too eager. In the past, every tshe discovered new
leads, her impatience led her into traps.
And since she was dealing with the Killians, she needed to be even more cautious. If she appeared too eager, she would end up in
a bad position. She needed to play hard to get.

"If you wantto stay, fine! Fire her!" Hera glanced at Rachel.
Rachel didn't get angry at this. She actually found it amusing. How arrogant must someone be to say such a thing?
Rachel had been working for Rhett for ten years and was his trusted assistant. Hera was full of herself if she thought Killian
Corporation cared that much about her.
Did Hera really think she was srare talent that thepany couldn't do without? Did she think she could just waltz in and
demand that the CEO fire one of his most valuable employees?
Dream on!
But Rhett declared coldly, "Rachel, hand in your resignation today. You don't need toe tomorrow."
Rachel's jaw dropped.
"Are you satisfied now?" Rhett looked at Hera with an unusually calm expression. He was willing to go to any lengths toplete
the task Chad had assigned him.
