Years passed in the blink of an eye and a complete century went by since the reconstruction of Milarn had begun.
The planet had finally reached its state of maturity after growing more in size. Milarn's surface was much stronger than before and it was not easy to destroy everything in the surrounding area. The gravitational force that weighed down on everyone had been adjusted and various events happened.
Dilan didn't notice most of them as he was inside his isolated space most of the time, trying to finish his True Divinity. He was only getting his hands on information whenever he made short breaks.
The breaks were not long and he stayed inside his room most of the time even when he gave himself some freedom from the exhaustion caused by the creation of his True Divinity. He was still not done because his True Divinity required a lot more effort to be completed properly.
But even if he stayed inside the isolated space for quite a while, he never felt alone. Ariel Silvertale was always present when he made a break. That didn't really make sense because Ariel told him about the things that happened outside as if she spent most of her time outside the isolated space, yet, whenever he opened his eyes, she was there.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtDid he subconsciously make breaks when Ariel was there or was it all a coincidence? Dilan didn't know the answer but he was happy that Ariel was always present. There was no need for him to feel alone, let alone to leave the isolated space and be bombarded with troublesome questions.
He left the isolated space only once, for less than five minutes before he returned in the blink of an eye. The questions he was asked were mostly related to his True Divinity, something he didn't want to think about when taking a break. Bombarded with questions, he could clear his head at all. It was different with Ariel by his side, whom he was much more comfortable with than ever before.
She showed more emotions than before as well. Dilan wondered if that was related to the incident that happened only a few years after he started his seclusion, or if it was related to what happened afterward. He was not exactly sure what the cause was but he liked Ariel Silvertale much more when she expressed herself.
Hearing her stories while seeing her smiling was the most calming thing Dilan could ask for. It distracted him as he listened intently to everything she had to say. That way, he was not only informed about everything necessary but Dilan and Ariel got a lot closer to each other.
Dilan learned so many things that had happened in the past 100 years that he wondered whether he left Milarn for another 10,000 years or if the last century had been as peaceful as Ariel Silvertale told him.
The last century was known as the Century of Peace because no new war broke out, and the Ancients and a big part of the remaining powerhouses formed a combined force against the Veils and Veilures.
That way, no new Veil was missed in the known Universe and no Veilures were able to devour and return to the Veil with Origin energy.
At least, there were no official reports about something like this. But that was already enough for Dilan to be more than satisfied. He was quite happy with the change that occurred in the last century, especially the fact that some of the Abandoned Children had chosen to take in new disciples.
Kathrine and Siegfried became the disciple of the Lightning Titan, who was the most interested in Siegfried. However, because Siegfried said that he wouldn't accept another master if Kathrine wouldn't be accepted as well, the Lightning Titan ended up accepting Kathrine as his disciple as well.
Dilan was not sure how things developed that way but Kathrine and Siegfried ended up in a relationship. This was a great surprise for everyone but it was not as if anyone had anything against it. The old conservative ways of the human race didn't apply anymore. An age gap of 22 years was nothing noteworthy if they had already passed their 80s by now.
They would live until the day they chose to die, or they were killed either way. That could be hundreds of years, thousands or even eons.
However, Kathrine and Siegfried were not the only couples that had formed in the Century of Peace. In fact, almost everyone had found a partner.
After living through the hardest time of their lives, feelings developed. The timing had always been off. Thus, the Century of Peace had been used to find out if the feelings were mutual and if they were compatible enough with each other to form a relationship until death parted them.
That was how Williams and Bianne ended up as a couple. They even married and a little son was born not too long ago.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmYvonne got together with the Necromancer, whose name Dilan didn't know, even now.
Felicia and Nicolas, the mage, gave birth to their second child, Ben and Felicia became a couple, and the most surprising was that his sister, Marie got together with the Archangel Tenur, the Holy Guard of the Essence Angel Queen!
When Dilan heard this he was just about to jump up and beat the shit out of Tenur, just to realize that the Cier family seemed to have taken a liking to Essence Angels. Thus, he ended up shutting his mouth.
Sven had also found someone for his future, a Dark Elf whom he met when it came to the negotiations of Milarn's lands.
As for Victoria, Ariel didn't know exactly what she was doing but she seemed happy, just like Rory.
Everyone seemed to be living a life full of happiness, and the dark times after the Fourth Awakening seemed to have been forgotten. They were only a small shadow on the hearts of the survivors, who had gotten much stronger by enduring and overcoming what they had to face.
Their lives had yet to end and they were still getting stronger. The only difference from before was just that nobody had to be afraid anymore. Instead of becoming stronger because of fear, every one intended to become stronger to make sure that they could continue living as they did right now.
The pursuit of happiness was just as motivating as the fear of dying!
