It didn't take long for the mud golem to try to destroy all the earth's walls. However, at that point, Jake had already got close enough for his sword to reach the monster. Even without his speed, Jake still had his strength, and the monster had no other choice but to block his attack with its left arm. Jake tried again and used Bash, but he still didn't manage to overpower his defense. He probably could use Mana Blade to do that, but he was supposed to be on the defense, so he couldn't do it…
Karina approached to attack the monster while it was busy with Jake. Still, in the end, the beast blocked her advance, even without looking at her with its remaining arm. The monster was wide open while dealing with those two, so Louise fired some Ice Arrows on the creature's face. The monster suffered some damage, but the effects of the projectiles didn't freeze the monster's hit parts.
The fight continued like that for quite a while. Without using mana, the monster couldn't give Louise extra mana. So, Jake and Karina had to retreat since that would make the battle last for too long. However, instead of throwing at them Mud Balls, the creature made some mini-sized mud golems rise from the ground. That was weird. It was the first monster that could summon others, but why do that and waste mana when the creature could just use the crystal and make other regular golems appear? Was it because of the terrain? Nevertheless, Louise could drain mana from the creatures since they had been created through spells, but the rate was incredibly low.
"I will deal with them," Karina said, and then she dived into the mud.
The girl certainly had the guts to do that. Even Jake didn't have the nerves to swim under mud? Nevertheless, the mini golems began to attack the Earth Walls, and while Louise tried to stop them, even her current powers weren't enough to kill them in a single strike. That being said, a light-green blade suddenly emerged from the mud and then began to slaughter the monsters. The boss tried to attack the place where the blades came from, but the creature never did it in time to hit anything.
Suddenly, the entire dungeon began to tremble, and Jake could tell that it was due to the boss. Thanks to that, Karina's attacks came to a halt since the tremor made the mud move too much. However, the tremor stopped when Jake hit the monster's face with five Mana Blades.
"I guess it is time to fight like before," Jake muttered.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtLeaving the monster alone and staying defensive would only let the creature to keep using that tremor, and that also made it unable for Louise and Lana to use their spells. Nevertheless, the boss looked at Jake, and he could sense some annoyance coming from the core on the creature's face. The beast swung both arms toward Jake, but he repelled them by using Bash with his shield and katana. While he succeeded in that, he also suffered some damage… using that tactic in a sequence wasn't an option.
Before the next attack could come, Jake swung his katana and scratched the golem's body in several parts. However, while he caused some damage, he didn't heal even a single bit. That was the weakness of Lesser Vampirism… it doesn't work in creatures that don't have blood. Nevertheless, when the golem tried to attack him, Jake moved to the side instantly by using Sonic Punch. The skill's effect had been halved thanks to the mud, but even so, it had been more than enough to dodge the strike.
Once he did that, Jake appeared slightly behind the golem, and so he attacked with his katana viciously. When the enemy tried to attack him, Karina suddenly jumped over the golem and then attacked the back of the monster's head, causing a lot of damage. It was quite shocking that she managed to finish the small golems so fast…

Karina's surprise attack, despite the fact that she used her innate skill, caused around two thousand points of damage. That was really impressive since she did that in only a moment. Nevertheless, before she could pull away and retreat momentarily, another arm from the back of the monster appeared and grabbed her and tried to crush her.
"Karina!" Louise shouted and then fired an oversized Ice Arrow to freeze the arm.
The projectile worked, but only for a second. Lana tried to project Karina, but her Barrier wasn't working since there was the mud arm on the way. She could only heal her, but that was only prolonged her pain.
"Good grief…" Jake said and then attacked the monster's arm and then cut off after using five Mana Blades in a quick succession.
The golem trembled in pain while Karina was getting up from the mud after the fall. Fortunately, the arm turned into a pool of mud. Otherwise, they would have a hard time freeing her and fighting at the same time. In any case, even if it was a temporary arm, the monster lost tons of health, around the same amount caused by Karina's previous attack. So, the beast got enraged, but the creature wasn't the only one…
Karina used the ability of her daggers and then increased the size and attacked the monster even more viciously than Jake. She was so fast that while she attacked two times, Jake could only see one. Putting Jake aside, Lana and Louise were wide open while seeing the vicious expression on Karina's face. She acted sweet in front of them, but it seemed she had a problem with temperament… Still, Jake couldn't care less about that, so he began to attack the monster furiously.
