Although that fight didn't last for long, its intensity was taking a toll on Jake's weapon, so he decided to run away from the enemies for a short while. Those two followed him while keeping a close eye on Jake and to avoid unpleasant surprises. Still, then they regretted that since Jake had just run toward their friend's corpse and took his sword. Now things were about to get interesting.

Strength + 15, Full Swing, master this item to obtain these effects.
Durability: 50/50
Full Swing: A powerful strike that causes the total amount of your strength plus ten percent of damage per level while ignoring twenty percent of the target's defense.
Cost: 20 stamina
Jake still preferred the Freezing Longsword, but that one would last for longer, and its shape and weight would help him cause problems to those assholes. He had planned to bullshit them during the fight when he was doing his visualization training. Still, he had thrown away those plans the very moment they attacked him like that and kept attacking him without uttering a word.

When those two bastards approached again, Jake already had an excellent way to welcome them. As usual, they aimed for an attack that would give Jake the chance to block, and while he did that, he also activated Full Swing and then Bash, followed by Explosive Touch. The combination of skills made the enemies feel their own bones cracking as they were pushed backward for several meters.
Jake used Bash again alongside Throw and threw the greatsword toward the strongest of those two guys. He blocked that attack with his own blade, but before the damage could be completely nullified, Jake approached, used Sonic Punch, and hit the hilt of his weapon. The enemy failed at blocking all the power of the strike, so his defense was breached, and the greatsword opened a small wound on the right side of his neck, making him open his eyes wide in surprise.
Jake equipped his longsword, and then he frowned when he saw those two regroupings and backing away from him while muttering something. It looked like the previous attack actually shocked them, even though they were pretty far away from being mortally wounded.
"Sir… The mission is over already," the second guy said. "We failed at killing the Cursed ruler with his current level of strength, and we lost one of us… His power is lacking, but bus instincts are as troublesome as ever. We need to retreat."
"Hey, come on… You can't possibly be serious about this," Jake said after he managed to hear them whispering. "Are you going to retreat despite having the numerical advantage? That is stupidly pathetic."
The third guy clicked his tongue in annoyance, but he didn't let that get the better of him. Jake's taunting failed. Nevertheless, he was quite curious and wanted to ask what they were talking about. He didn't do anything to deserve the title of Cursed ruler… Still, there were those dreams… Are they aware that it seems like Jake has been possessed by some kind of spirit, and they set up that whole situation to kill him? That seemed too crazy to be true…
"Stay and fight like a man, or did someone cut off your balls?" Jake said as he stepped forward.
Jake insisted on the taunt, but much to his annoyance, those two actually used the system and moved to another planet to escape… Jake bit his lips in annoyance, but then he sighed.
"At least I won, and I scared the shit out of those assholes," Jake thought. "It is a pity that I was unable to see their faces, so I won't recognize them if I see them wearing other equipment later…"
After recovering the great sword and then heading to where he left the body of the fallen enemy, Jake searched his body for items. He also had a magic box filled with some potions, but aside from that, only his set of armor was a bit decent. No way Jake was going to wear them forever, though.

"Nothing very valuable here, but better than my current gear… I really need to spend my coins on the dungeon," Jake said and then sighed again.
Putting that aside, after getting what he wanted, Jake looked for another place to sleep and recover, his bones still were hurting every time he breaths, and he doubted that he would have much time to rest once he found the giant snails dungeon, so he had to enjoy that opportunity.
Once he found a suitable place, Jake began to wonder about what he had heard… cursed ruler… the ambush. He thought that he was hunting those pieces of shit, but he was the one being hunted. Finding those guys will be a lot harder now, and Jake wondered if it was worth the hassle. Instead of that, he was considering learning more if those innate abilities are something that everyone has because of ghosts or dreams. Those three never mentioned that, so Jake was quite curious. Still, it would be weird to ask about that around.
"Focusing on getting stronger will be better for the time being," Jake thought. "Those three were stronger than me, but I failed to kill all of them because I am missing some cards on my deck… I need to work to improve on that."
It was hard to say how much time Jake would have to do that, but he will have to hurry up and make the most of the amount he had.
