Having gotten the permission, Arthur entered the office following the instructions.
There were no doors between the corridor and the actual office of the Guard Captain. The man liked to look at his people while they worked and would monitor them personally from time to time.
His large desk was placed at the center of his office, while a wide window could be seen behind it. On the left side of the office, book shelves could be seen while on the right side tens of weapons were kept on shelves and weapon stands.
An armor was also hung on a stand, looking rather imposing with the scratches and dents on it. It was clear that it was a decoration and could no longer be used.
The guard captain looked up at Arthur, having heard his footsteps right from the start.
"So you are the adventurer Arzhur," the Guard Captain spoke.
"That is me," Arthur confirmed before greeting the man with a salute. "Sir knight."
Seeing Arthur's actions, the guard captain was a bit surprised.
"You do not need to follow the etiquettes. I am just a guard captain." The man spoke.
"You might have retired, but you were still an esteemed knight of the kingdom." Arthur replied with a respectful expression.

Arthur was tempted to look at the detailed information about the Guard Captain but knew now was not the time. He still needed to time and it would not be good if he looked to be distracted.
'I can take a look later anyways.' Arthur thought.
While he had a bit of information about the Guard Captain, it was only limited to the facts that he was very strong. Players hadn't known about his exact level at all.
Though a few players had indeed found out that the Guard Captain actually had another identity. The Guard Captain was a retired knight that had received merits from the kingdom.
'Still for him to be Level 108… he's easily the highest leveled NPC in this region.' Arthur thought to himself.
If the man was a few more levels higher, Arthur wouldn't even be able to use Dragon's Insight on him. The skill only worked on characters that were a maximum of 100 levels above Arthur.
"Those days are behind me now." The Guard Captain replied. "I am now just Fredric, the Guard Captain of Roran town." He introduced himself.
"I'll address you as such then, Guard Captain Fredric." Arthur replied.
>Reputation with Guard Captain Fredric has risen!<
While the guard captain may have asked Arthur to do address him normally, the man was still pleased internally.
'Just as I thought.' Arthur was happy with the increase in the reputation and was something he had aimed for since the start.
"Now then, time to get to business," Fredric said before extending his hand. "I believe you have something for me?"
"Yes," Arthur took out the items and handed it to Fredric.
The man opened the letter and took a close looks at it. His expression changed, and a frown appeared on his face.
"These bandits, did you face them personally?" Fredric asked.
"I did. I got this letter from their camp." Arthur confirmed.
"Hmm… this complicates things." Fredric muttered. "Dozla has been an issue for a while, and I've been intending to get rid of him for a while." He spoke.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Why haven't you done it then? Is there something else preventing you?" Arthur questioned.
"Yes. Dozla seems to have become smarter and has been using sneaky methods to infiltrate the town. We've already caught a few bandits that tried to sneak in. Thankfully Guild Master Caleb was able to recognize them." Fredric explained.
"Why do then want to infiltrate though?" Arthur questioned.
"I don't know either. Interrogating the bandits was unless as they died before we could ask them anything." Fredric answered.
"Died? They killed themselves?" Arthur wondered.
"No… it seemed to be magic of some kind. Possibly a curse." Fredric replied.
Hearing this, Arthur felt like a few things were connected.
"The cultists that were talked about in the letter… I'm sure they are the ones behind it too." Arthur replied. "I discussed this with Resident Mage Bernard as well. He said that these are cultists of Iltan that are making use of the bandits." He explained.
"Iltan?!" hearing the name of the deity, Fredric's expression turned dark.
"You know about Iltan, I assume?" Arthur spoke.
"I've read about it… his cultists have been an issue in the kingdom for a while." Fredric replied. "We've attempted to wipe them out several times, but they always pop back up. Even back when I was still a knight, they were causing several issues.
Though two decades ago when they caused the Feltan Dungeon collapse and got several people killed, multiple churches mounted an offense together. All the cultists involved in that incident were killed and things became calm.
But it seems like they've made a return again…" he revealed.
Arthur knew about the Feltan Dungeon too. It was a rather famous dungeon that would open once more after the arrival of players. Of course, when the players had discovered it, they didn't know the history behind it.
The dungeon was entered by the players and ended up releasing a lot of monsters that were sealed inside it. This triggered a series of bounties that the players needed to clear.
And once the bounties on all the escaped monsters were cleared, the players could finally attempt the dungeon. Even then it had taken hundreds of players dying before the dungeon was finally cleared.
It was one of the first raid dungeons that the players would experience and was intended for players of level 100 and below.
But what players didn't know that the part of Feltan dungeon they explored was only the upper part. The true depths of the dungeon were still sealed due to the collapse which was caused by the cultists.
