In Morpheus Online, Skills were something that could be both learned from teachers or books as well as learned through one's own hard work.
One could sometimes pick up on skills, simply by repeating certain actions again and again. In fact, many players learned some of the auxiliary skills like butcher and harvest like this.
Arthur had done the same.
But then again, different skills had different levels of difficulty in acquisition.
Auxiliary skills like butcher were easier to learn than combat or magic based skills.
While Arthur knew that he would be able to do the same, he hadn't expected it to happen automatically.
After all, generating a skill needed familiarity with the act.
'I hadn't expected it to give a skill… I didn't have much experience with using spears in my last life thus I couldn't generate skills on my own. But this is nice.' Arthur thought.
Learning skills by oneself was not easy and even if there were instructions on the forums, not everyone could replicate them. After all, everyone's level of comprehension would be different.
Not to mention, there would be fine differences that would appear when doing the same act. Even the way one described their experience could be interpreted differently by various people.
'I had confidence in developing Dagger or bow skills since I was a Ranger before, but this is a pleasant surprise.' Arthur looked up the information about the skill.

"Skewer huh… It's a nice skill. One of the core skills for spear users, actually." Arthur was happy with the skill.
After all, the skill had not one but three effects. Of course, the second and third effect were not visible to others. It was due to the fact that Arthur possessed Dragon's Insight that he was able to see the hidden effects too.
'But then again, if the players spent some attention, they would eventually figure it out on their own.' Arthur thought to himself.
The next thing he did was to check his status.

Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThis time Arthur actually chose to spend some of his free stat points.
"Speed is what I need more. Damage is something that is taken care of due to Dietrich as well as the Lock Skill. As for defending, I got Brambles so toughness can grow on its own too." Arthur muttered to himself as he used up 5 of his free stat points.
He added two to agility, and three to dexterity.
Agility was what increased his speed, while dexterity was what determined the accuracy of his attacks as well as his reaction time.
After all, the accuracy of the attack would decide whether he would be able to deal with damage or not, as well as how much. If his accuracy was higher, Arthur would be able to target weak points better and deal critical damage.
It was what he had been depending on to kill foes, after all. Many of his attacks were on weak spots and were critical hits.
In his past life as a Ranger class, Dexterity was his core stat as well. Thus, he was well versed in its workings.
"Let's get to butchering." Arthur started cutting into the corpse of the Rock Trampling Wild Stallion.
Due to how large it was, it took Arthur some time to do so. Plus, he also needed to extract materials that were difficult to remove. Still, after about half an hour, he successfully managed to do so.
>Player Arzhur has obtained a low quality wild stallion pelt!<
>Player Arzhur has obtained mid quality Rock hooves x 4<
>Player Arzhur has obtained a low quality Wild Stallion Mane!<
"Phew! Finally done." Arthur stored the mane of the Rock Trampling Wild Stallion separately to keep it from getting dirty and packed the hooves in the pelt.
Due to the injuries that were inflicted on the Rock Trampling Wild Stallion, the mane was that of a lower quality. The spear injury was the one that had damaged the pelt the most.
Though Arthur didn't mind it, as it was an extra reward anyways. If his proficiency with butcher skill hadn't increased, he wouldn't have been able to obtain the pelt anyways.
The players were only supposed to get the hooves of the Rock Trampling Wild Stallion as a trophy. Though only one of the hooves was needed as the proof, while the others could be sold off for more rewards or used as materials.
Then there was the mane of the Rock Trampling Wild Stallion. It could also be sold, and was another piece of loot that could only be obtained by luck. If it was dirtied while fighting the Rock Trampling Wild Stallion, it would not be obtainable.
But due to the fact that Arthur had ambushed the beast and killed it in a few attacks, the mane was still fine.
Having stored all of the loot, Arthur decided to make his way back to the town.
"Let's go Brambles." Arthur commanded the beast as they began their travel.
They had finished their hunt in a shorter time than expected, thus Arthur knew they would reach Roran Town before dusk.
'I should be able to sell the loot off too.' Arthur hoped.
But what he didn't expect was that his journey back wasn't going to be smooth.
