As soon as Arthur heard the voice, he became alert and a bit tense. Thankfully, the helmet hid it and the other person couldn't see the change in his expression.
'Did they discover me?' It was the first thought that appeared in Arthur's mind.
But trying to keep his cool, he looked at the person that had just called him out.
"Are you deaf?" the man dressed in armor questioned.
Unlike Arthur though, he was wearing better armor and also had a full face steel helmet on his face. It was clear that this was a higher ranking bandit.
"N-no," Arthur replied hoping that the person won't question his voice.
"Mm, I haven't seen you before." The man narrowed his eyes.
Arthur knew he had to say something or the suspicion might rise. As such he quickly used his skill.

Arthur skipped all info and just looked at the man's name and level.
"Ah! I'm new, Commander Ugil. From last week's recruits." Arthur answered quickly.
Hearing Arthur's words, the Commander eased up, but a frown was still on his face.
"Since you're a new recruit, you're still on grunt work. Why are you not working?" The commander asked.
"Huh?" Arthur raised his brows but saw the man pointing.
"Stack that wood! I'll send more of it and you'll arrange it along the wall. If Chief has no fire burning, he'll be on your ass." The commander ordered.
"Ah yes! I'm on it!" Arthur replied before quickly getting to the task.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSeeing that Arthur was working, the commander turned around to leave.
~phew~
Feeling relieved that the man was gone, Arthur now knew he could be a bit free.
'Guess I can use the task as an excuse to be here.' Arthur thought to himself and picked up the wood.
Then he purposefully went to the wall that was nearest to the hall and started stacking the wood there. That way, Arthur was able to glance at the situation inside with ease.
The hall was wide and seemed to have been manually carved out. There were lanterns hanging everywhere, and proper furniture was also present. There was a large table, chairs, a couple of loungers, and even a large bed present.
On the floor, fur carpets were spread out and at the center a fire pit was present.
Around this sat four people. There were small tables with bottles of alcohol as well as some food present on them.
'That should be Dozla…' Arthur looked at the man who was the largest in terms of physique.
Dozla was a middle aged man and was dressed in plated leather armor that had layers of fur on it. A large Axe was kept at his side while silver bracers were present on his arms.
He had a coarse beard as well, while his hair was cut short. A few scars were also present on his face, having been obtained through several fights throughout his life.
Sitting around him were three people that were relatively normal sized.
But what was surprising was that all three people were wearing the same kind of clothes.
'Dark indigo robes with the red streak in the middle…' Arthur recognized them just by seeing. 'The Cultists of Iltan!' he was sure of it.
Next, he used Dragon's Insight, wanting information on all of them.

Arthur took just one looked at Dozla's Stats, and knew that going up against on his own would be tough.
'Even with Brambles, I might at most be able to stall him. Only Guard Captain Fredric will be able to deal with him.' Arthur thought to himself.
The man's stats were high, but not as high as the Guard Captain. After all, the man was at level 108, being 19 level above Dozla.
That was more than enough to wipe the floor with him.
But other that Dozla, there were still three people that were concerning.

Arthur looked at their levels and furrowed his brows.
'Two mages and priest in the 40s would be troublesome if they fight alongside Dozla.' Arthur thought. 'If they also come out with Dozla, Captain Fredric might have trouble.'
While the captain was several levels above, the cultists could still provide enough support and healing to the Bandit Chief to make him fight longer.
'I'll have to make sure they are separated…' Arthur thought to himself.
He wished to listen to their conversations too, but he was simply to far for it.
'At least I got to see Dozla's appearance… I'll be able to use the Veil with no issues now.' Arthur reckoned.
Having seen this, he went back and continued to stack the wood, since there were still a few bandits passing by. Thankfully, he didn't need more than five minutes, during which he still observed Dozla, hoping that he would get to know something more.
But luck didn't seem to be on his side now, as the cultists stood up.
He saw them leave the hall, and go deeper into the cave. Dozla was the only one left in the hall and looked pissed.
~CRASH~
He suddenly kicked a table and shouted.
"BAH! Those damned guards! I'll kill them all!" Dozla shouted in anger. "Just you wait… a couple more days, and you'll face your end!"
Due to his shouts, Arthur heard everything clearly and knew that his decision to come here was right.
'Unfortunately this will be your last day.' Arthur said in his mind before leaving.
He had finished his task and would arouse no suspicion now.
