Chapter 235 The Rock Bees
With another goal added to his list, Arthur continued his journey. After all, he still had the mission of getting Rock bee wax.
"I just might be able to obtain the wax and head back down by the time its midnight." Arthur estimated checking the time.
It was still a bit earlier than noon and it left Arthur with more than enough time.
As such, he traversed the rough path and continued to go further up. This side of the mountain had not been damaged by the battle between the unknown Mage and the Night Slayer, and hence Arthur didn't need to struggle too much.
'It's good that I was already near the upper portion of the mountain or it would be been a pain when I circled around the battle side again.' Arthur thought.
Since the path up the mountain went in a spiral upwards, Arthur would have come back to the side of the battle, just a little higher than before making it hard to cross again.
An hour passed before Arthur was finally at the slanting peak.
"The view sure is nice," Arthur looked at the vast forest behind him and the hundreds of hills and mountains that jutted out in the front.
The mountain he had climbed was just one of many more that extended out into the distance. The sun was above him with a few clouds masking the light.
Far in the distance, Arthur could even see snow covered mountains that were even taller than the one's he was on.
"Now to just find the bees." Arthur muttered and looked for their traces.
It wasn't that hard to find the rock bees once one knew their approximate location. This was due to the fact that they left marks in the form of holes on the rocks everywhere.
"There it is… though these are a bit old." Arthur looked at the rocky wall with hundreds of holes on them.
The holes were almost equal in size and were about an inch wide. Their depth was about three inches. But looking at the moss and dust on them, Arthur was sure these were made a long while ago.
New holes would look a lot more dry and were also shallower. Rock bees would dig these holes as they ate rocks as an ingredient for their wax.
"Just to follow along them now…" Arthur walked along the holes and saw the transition.
The holes started to shallower and soon they were barely an inch deep.

Rock Bees liked to live in remote areas that won't be disturbed and as such were sensitive to vibrations and loud sounds. After a couple of minutes of search, Arthur finally heard something.

A faint buzzing sound was heard by him which made him try to track it.
"Damn… it had to be one of these." It didn't take long for Arthur to spot the hive of the Rock Bees.
It was right below him!
A crevice cut through the mountain top and was only wide enough for two people to fit inside. Though looking at its edges, Arthur was sure that they weren't natural.
"Man… this is a giant hive if they've carved this crevice out." Arthur muttered seeing it.
He quickly retreated and hid, since he didn't know if the bees would have sensed him being right above them.

Sure enough, a few seconds later a few Rock Bees flew out and circled around the area.

Looking at the abysmal toughness and vitality of the Rock Bee workers, Arthur knew why they were pretty much glass canons.
'Though their attacking power and speed is decently high to give trouble. Plus when they have numbers, they don't really need to care about the defense as much. They just overwhelm others anyways.' Arthur knew.
But having found the Rock bees, Arthur had another problem.
"The previous strategy won't work if they are inside a crevice… if they were out in the open on a rock wall it would be perfect… WAIT!" but this made Arthur realize of something obvious he had missed. "Since they are in a crevice… they can't really go out other than the top." A smile appeared on his face as a deadly plan formed.
'If I use that, not only will there be plenty of experience but collecting the Rock Bee Wax will also be easy enough.' He reckoned.
With the plan in mind, Arthur waited for the stray bees to return to their hive before summoning Brambles.
"Time to roast some bees Brambles," Arthur spoke to the Beetle.
"Ki? Kiri?" Brambles asked what he needed to do.
"It's simple, just blast that crevice with Draconid's breath until I tell you to stop." Arthur answered
"Kirik!" Brambles nodded its head, showing that he fully understood the plan.
It was rather simple and would benefit the beetle a lot. Plus even if a few bees managed to counterattack, Brambles's defense was high enough to withstand it for the most part.
