Chapter 386 – Jiangdong White Tiger Sect and Siren City

Yuan Shaoqing's main units, volunteer units, Zhang Ren's force, and Huang Hansheng's fleet retreated from the battlefield.

As for Sun Wentai Army, most of them recovered from the previous injury with Miaomiao's spring water. They remained there, repairing and savaging their crashed battleships.

Sun Wentai had no other place to go after the previous stunt. He came down from the sect island and visited Siren City along with his followers.

Zhao Bao also came out to welcome their new allies.

"Amitabha. Buddha welcomes you. Sun Yun informed me about your arrival. Please come inside."

Sun Wentai was a bit awkward since the senior was so polite. He, Sun Bofu, Qiongqi cub, and three of the sect's elders agreed to enter the city.

As the walls and most buildings had been destroyed by Fang Yanxu earlier, the city was in ruin. Many injured beasts, beastmen, mermaids, and orcs cried in pain while they were waiting for treatment.

The yin slaves, Ju Shoufen, Jia Wenhe, Ma Moxi, and the stronger seniors were busy fetching spring water to feed the injured. Once the injured people were healed, they got up and hurried to their friends, feeding the healing water to them as well.

Seeing how the citizens of Siren City helped each other with their precious elixir, Sun Wentai looked at them in astonishment. He also wanted his sect's disciples and his clansmen to have this level of unity instead of taking advantage of the weak.

He thought of the inner disciples of his sect. Those troublemaking teenagers had established their organizations with their parent's names and enlisted several promising youths to their side. Now, they waged war against their rival clans, robbed weaker cultivators, and ganged on the stronger disciples.

Although Sun Wentai promoted rivalry in his sect to simulate the outside world's harshness for those youngsters, he always desired a peaceful and friendly sect, where everyone worked together as one.

Sun Wentai was envious of Siren City.

"Your people are nice."

Sun Bofu looked around the city and took a deep breath, "The air here is nice, too! Father, we should take over the city-*POEK*"

Before Sun Bofu could finish his sentence, Sun Wentai punched him in the face.

"Never bring our sect's culture here. What remains in the sect stays in the sect. If I find you bring those inner disciples here, I'll disown you."

"..." Sun Bofu rubbed his broken nose and stared at his father in shock. His father seemed different today.

Sun Wentai sighed and bowed 90 degrees toward Zhao Bao and other people in the city, "I'm sorry for my son's remark. I'll reeducate him not to make such comment or try to do anything absurd again."

Zhao Bao nodded, "No harm's done. You must have lived a harsh life."

"... Yes."

"Anyway, let's head to the monastery first. We shall talk there, so our townsmen can restore the city without being wary about us."

Zhao Bao guided the guests to the northern part of the outer wall area, where he, Zhang Jue, and Fogan had constructed a new district of temples there. Even the previous orc camp had been transformed into the training ground of the monks and Huangjin Monastery's disciples.

As Sun Wentai's group followed Zhao Bao on the main street, they got to see the massive floating crystal of the pylon tower up close. Strangely, the crystal floated at the center while the rooftop part and the bottom part maintained the core in place without touching it.

The pylon tower kept releasing Life Essence to the air while it leaked clear transparent water to the waterways, which led the essence-filled water to the reservoir.

Sun Bofu, Huang Gongfu, and others had the urge to scoop the water and drink them as they sensed the pure Qi in the water. Still, because they were not the official population of Siren City yet, they could only look at them.

Zhao Bao grinned and pointed his finger at the central fountain, which was filled with unified element spring water to the brim.

"The essence water hasn't been processed yet. Instead of consuming that and risk overflowing your dantian with uncontrollable essence, you should drink the spring water to purify your Qi first. You should only absorb the Qi in the air and avoid that water."

"H-How magical."

The Sun clansmen were amazed by the environment.

While the adults were still looking around and admiring the atmosphere of the city, Sun Bofu rushed to the fountain and shoved his head to the water, drinking the spring water as if he hadn't drunk a drop of water for weeks.

Sun Bofu's blood from his nose dirtied the fountain, which annoyed the nearby werewolf lady. A white-furred Chihuahua, who had come here to fetch the water for their injured friends, bared her fangs at Sun Bofu.

"Hey, hooman! Learn some manner! Haven't your parents taught you how to use a public water bowl? You don't stick your nose in the water, woof! Look how dirty it is! The caretakers will have to drain the entire fountain and clean everything now because of your bloody boogers! Think of the others, you fool, woof, woof!"

"..."

Being scolded by a little dog was a new experience for Sun Bofu. He had a wry smile on his face, but he also had the urge to pet her.

The others also heard the commotion. Upon seeing that a talking little dog had been yelling at Sun Bofu, all elders had a pokerface.

"This city is... unique."

...

While Sun Wentai's group had been following Zhao Bao around, the little Qiongqi cub sprinted with his four short legs, running around like a baby kitten, who had seen a wild field for the first time.

"FREEDOM!!"

The cub laughed and sniffed around, smelling all the odd scents of the beastmen. Even a dirty tree trunk, where many little pekingese werewolves had peed on, was sniffed.

Soon enough, the cub's nose swelled and he opened his mouth to breathe.

"Ueee. What a nasty toilet."

He dug several handfuls of soil to cover the pee smell by instinct. Afterward, he peed on it and covered it again with more soil.

As the cub was having fun digging the soil, the tree trunk owner, a bare-chested brown werewolf with a muscular humanoid body and a pekingese's head noticed him.

Â

"Hey, damn tiger! You're peeing on my toilet!"

"Huh?"

The werewolf was a member of the city's patrol squad, aka the police. He even had a red armband with a black star. However, his strength was only comparable to a 4th-stage cultivator.

The Qiongqi in disguise glanced at the weird beastman. Then, he snorted and continued covering the smell with the dirt.

"Hey, I'm talking to you!" The beastman started to get annoyed.

The cub snorted, "Kid, you'd better scram or this father will bite off your head."

"Pfft, a kitten like you? Bite my head off? How scary. I'm about to piss my pants. Hahahahahaha!"

"Oho? You're laughing at me?"

Suddenly, the Qiongqi reverted back to his real form. A giant white tiger with four wings suddenly appeared and stared down at the pekingese.

The police blinked his eyes several times before he transformed into a little pekingese dog. The pet-like beastman whimpered and ran away with his tail under his legs.

The tiger scoffed and reverted back to his usual disguise form.

As Qiongqi was about to explore the city some more, he caught a whiff of a familiar scent. It smelled so pleasant that it felt nostalgia.

"I smell a divine white tiger."

"Huh? I remember clearly that I took a bath this morning."

The Qiongqi immediately turned around to see the source of the voice. Someone had sneaked behind him unnoticed!

Behind the cub, a white tiger sat there, frowning at him.

Qiongqi suddenly jumped vertically as if he had seen a cucumber. Upon getting back on the ground, he hissed, "W-WHO ARE YOU!?"

Mao Xueyan raised her front paw and gently patted on Qiongqi's head. Then, she pressed him to the ground.

"Hello, Mr. Qiongqi. I'm Mao Xueyan, the successor of the Divine White Tiger of Tian Long Forest. Why are you pissing on my turf? You wanna die?"

"Release me, you wench!"

The cub bared his fangs and struggled to break free. However, Mao Xueyan's strength was stronger than his chubby cub's physique.

Moreover...

RUMBLE

Â

Qiongqi's stomach cried. The previous fight against Yuan Shaoqing's volunteer troops drained his energy. Now, he was hungry.

"Give me food, and I'll talk."

RUMBLE

His stomach roared again. This time, it sounded like a Godzilla's warcry.

The nearby beastmen, monks, and injured clansmen of Ma Moxi stopped what they were doing and looked at the chubby tiger-like cub.

The corner of Mao Xueyan's curved up, but she bit the tip of her tongue, trying not to laugh.

"Alright. I'll feed you something."

...

While Sun Wentai and Qiongqi had been busy inside the city, a group of inner disciples of Jiangdong White Tiger Sect slipped out of the flying island, which had been parked near the city.

A group of five foundation establishment realm cultivators flew over the city to inspect the mysterious landmark, the pylon tower. They boldly landed on the rooftop.

The leader of this group was a handsome man in a uniform, a dark red jacket with white long sleeves, a white shirt, dark-red-colored pants, and black leather shoes.

As for his followers, they wore the same uniform. However, they wore an armband with the Chinese Character, Jiang, the same surname as Jiang Lan.

The four followers observed the people from the top of the tower, sneering at them.

"Senior Jiang Gu, it seems that our sect master has hit a jackpot. I heard he wanted to migrate everyone here, so we might be able to take over the city soon."

Jiang Gu, the leader of his clique, faintly smiled, "Don't assume the impossible. Even if Sun Wentai manages to snatch the city from these morons, we can only get a portion of the territory for our share."

"You're right. What a pity."

Jiang Gu smiled as he had the same idea as his follower.

The air in the city was rich in Qi. Just by standing here for a few seconds, Jiang Gu felt like his yang essence had increased by a liter.

This place was too good for the lowly beastmen below. Jiang Gu wanted it for himself.

Still, he never forgot that he was a weak cultivator at the moment. He needed his mentor's support to kidnap or ravish local women as he did in the sect.

Jiang Gu was bored of the female inner disciples back home. He wanted something new.

As Jiang Gu and his followers looked around, they spotted the group of otherworldly beauties and gorgeous beastfolks, carrying several buckets of spring water to the injured people.
