Chapter 752: Inner Palace, Sword Steps
Translator: Transn Editor: Transn
Whoosh!
After the entrance appeared, 13th Elder led Su Mo into the gate.
The scene changed into that of a mountain range.
This mountain range looked completely different from the Emperor Xuan Mountain Range and was crowned by only ten peaks. Yet, it looked ethereally beautiful.
All kinds of flora and fauna could be seen together with herds of Demonic Beasts frolicking across the entire mountain range, a picture of calm and serenity.
A splendid palace made of gold and jade stood on every mountain peak, each giving off an incredibly powerful aura.
This seemed like heaven on earth, a place unlike any other on Firmament and Continent.
This was the inner palace of Emperor Xuan Palace, and was the true core of the Palace.
The moment Su Mo arrived here, he felt wisps of powerful spiritual force giving him the once-over before disappearing.
Su Mo was secretly worried. He would have to tread extra carefully for it seemed like there were many experts here.
Whoosh!
13th Elder did not stop and led Su Mo toward one of the ten mountain peaks. They landed in front of a palace gate.
“Mo Su, this is my temporary dwelling palace!” 13th Elder said, then walked straight into the palace.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSu Mo hastily trailed after him.
The palace was extremely big and had just about everything, including a main hall, side halls, practice rooms, and so on.
13th Elder entered a side hall and sat on the main seat, while Su Mo sat beneath him.
“Mo Su, as your master, I will need to know more about your current situation!” 13th Elder said as he smiled at Su Mo.
“Of course, what would you like to know?” Su Mo nodded, but he immediately went on high alert.
“Where are you from? Or where does your family live?”13th Elder asked.
“I hail from South Continent and had lived there since I was young.” Su Mo replied. He was obviously not about to speak truthfully.
Neither did he dare to state that he was from Central Continent for he was worried that 13th Elder would probe further. Thus, he claimed he was from South Continent.
“Oh, you’re from South Continent!” 13th Elder looked surprised, then nodded and continued, “You must be truly extraordinary to have been able to cross the Death Sea to arrive at Emperor Xuan Palace!”
Death Sea?
Su Mo’s face froze for a moment. He had made this story up and obviously knew nothing of the Death Sea, but he was not going to show it.
13th Elder thought for a moment, then asked, “I can tell you seem to be cultivating an extraordinary cultivation skill that seemed incredibly powerful. Do you mind sharing what kind of cultivation skill is that?”
Su Mo’s heart skipped a beat, but he relaxed once he saw that this was only an off-handed question.
“Master, my cultivation skill is known as the Five Elements Technique, which is an Upper Lv6 skill. I’ve already achieved the highest mastery of this skill, hence it is extremely powerful.” Su Mo replied calmly, then continued, “If you like, I can imprint it on a jade slip for you to take a closer look at it!”
Su Mo knew that the power of the Grand Chaos Five Elements Skill far surpassed an Upper Lv 6 skill, but neither would it be appropriate for him to claim that it was a Martial Royal level cultivation skill.
Thus, he could only claim that he had achieved the highest level of mastery.
He even put on a magnanimous act, pretending he was willing to divulge the cultivation skill because he counted on the fact that a Martial Royal Realm expert would not care for an Upper Lv 6 skill!
Su Mo had now lived two lifetimes, so although he was not extremely knowledgeable in matters of the world, he knew more than an average 18-year-old.
Just as he expected, 13th Elder dismissed his suggestion with a wave of his hand and said, “There’s no need for that, I was just curious. Still, your ability to achieve the highest level of mastery cultivating an Upper Lv 6 skill is a testament to your extraordinary talent!”
13th Elder then thought for a moment and continued, “Since you have acknowledged me as your master today, I should present you with a gift. What would you like to receive? I’ll do my best to fulfill your request as long as it is a reasonable one!”
“A gift?” Su Mo started to give it some serious thought. He would not reject an offer of a gift.
After some thought, Su Mo said, “Would you happen to have a high-level body move martial arts technique?”
Su Mo realized he did not lack anything but a body move martial arts technique.
He could technically fly on his sword, which would make him incredibly fast, but sometimes, it was just not appropriate for him to do so.
Furthermore, this meant that there was a heavy reliance on his Spiritual Sword. He would be doomed if he lost his spiritual sword!
He would only be fully relying on his own abilities if he cultivated a powerful body move martial arts technique.
13th Elder smiled and produced a jade slip with a flip of his palm. He then passed it to Su Mo.
“This is a pretty good martial arts technique; you may cultivate this!” he said.
Su Mo casually browsed through the jade slip after he received it and was astonished.
This was a Lower Lv 7 martial arts technique, named ‘Sword Steps’.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSu Mo did not expect 13th Elder to be so generous as to hand him a Martial Royal Realm martial arts technique.
He suddenly regretted not requesting a cultivation skill instead.
If he could obtain a Martial Royal Realm cultivation skill, he would be even more powerful after incorporating it into his Grand Chaos Five Elements Skill.
It was now too late for regrets!
“Many thanks!” Su Mo immediately expressed his thanks.
“No problem!” 13th Elder nodded and said, “Mo Su, this Sword Steps is no ordinary technique and is extremely suitable for swordsmen. Once you master it, it will be of great help to you in future!”
“I understand!” Su Mo nodded.
13th Elder looked at Su Mo appraisingly and then asked doubtfully, “Mo Su, why do I feel like we’ve met before?”
Su Mo’s blood froze and suddenly had a bad feeling about this.
He was now a completely different person as compared to when they had last met four years ago, but 13th Elder still managed to sense some similarities. He truly was a Martial Royal Realm expert.
“Master, I had seen you from afar once before at the Outer Palace, so you might have a vague collection of this!” Su Mo said calmly with a smile.
13th Elder nodded. He had only asked because he felt that there was something familiar about Su Mo.
After all, there were millions of disciples milling about the Outer Palace. It was perfectly reasonable for them to have met before.
“Mo Su, I have some time on my hands recently, so if you’ve got anything you’d like to seek my advice on, please feel free to ask.” 13th Elder smiled.
“Yes!” Su Mo nodded, secretly touched.
13th Elder seemed to treat his disciples really well and seemed to sincerely want to groom him as his disciple. He was really a good teacher.
Too bad the gods seemed to be conspiring against him. Su Mo was not certain how long their master-disciple relationship would last.
Su Mo shook all those thoughts away and produced the jade slip containing the Book of the Sky Sword with a flip of his palm.
“Master, I’d like to seek your advice on this swordsmanship technique!” Su Mo said.
