Chapter 208 Killing Intent

Right then, there came an announcement saying that they could start entering the theater. Lewis spoke

up, “The movie’s starting. Let’s go.”

Sierra wouldn’t be able to enjoy the movie now. Preoccupied with thoughts of Lewis and Josephine’s

divorce, she desperately wanted to know if it was true. Unfortunately for her, Lewis didn’t give her a

clear answer. On top of that, Josephine came to watch the movie with another man. Based on all these,

Sierra could only think hard about whether she’d previously picked up on any clues about their divorce.

As they were in public, Sierra couldn’t continue to inquire Lewis about it. She comforted herself that

they would have plenty of time to talk about it later when they returned home.

Quintin also snapped back to reality and hurriedly handed the freshly bought coffee to Josephine.

“Come on. We should go in too.”

Josephine took the coffee and nodded lightly. She stood up and followed him inside.

Coincidentally, they ended up buying tickets for the same movie as Lewis. It was a highly anticipated

premiere, and tickets for the first screening were extremely hard to come by. Both of them had obtained

the movie tickets through special means, so it wasn’t surprising that they bumped into each other.

However, the initial anticipation for the movie had dissipated at that moment. No one was in

the mood to watch the film. They each delved into their own thoughts.

Josephine’s seat was in the front row. As soon as she sat down, she could feel a pair of eyes locked

onto the back of her head from behind. She couldn’t tell if it was Lewis or Sierra.

Quintin leaned close to her and whispered, “My dad invested in this movie. It’s supposed to be this

year’s blockbuster.”

Josephine nodded and looked up at the screen-it was a science fiction film. A few flicks of this

genre were produced domestically, but the reviews for these films weren’t exactly great. Even for this

movie they were watching, half of the cast consisted of foreign actors. In addition, the production

company was also involved in some international productions. Due to the relatively successful

marketing hype, many people came to watch this film with some

expectations.

Josephine wasn’t really in the mood to continue watching the movie because the gaze from behind

made her feel uneasy. Quintin kept talking to her, but Josephine couldn’t focus on a single word. Like

her, Quintin’s mind wasn’t on the movie either; he kept trying to find a point of breakthrough to ask

about her and Lewis. Upon seeing her distracted state, he ultimately didn’t pursue it further.

Sierra’s gaze also fell on Lewis’ side profile. From her perspective, she couldn’t tell if he was

watching the movie or looking at the person in front. Sierra frowned; her emotions were all over the

place.

If Lewis had really gotten divorced, why hadn’t he told her? Did he get divorced for her sake? How

could the person who had repeatedly assured her there wouldn’t be a divorce end up doing exactly

what he said he wouldn’t?

Various doubts entangled her and haunted her, to the point that she couldn’t remember anything about

the movie she’d supposedly just watched.

The moment the movie ended, Josephine stood up from her seat and quickly rushed out of the

screening room, as if she was escaping from something. She wanted more than anything to flee from

that gaze.

Quintin chased after her with quick steps. Gasping for air, he asked, “Why did you run so fast?”

Josephine’s breathing was also slightly rapid. Just as the elevator arrived, she dashed inside. and

squeezed into the crowd of people in it. She vaguely saw Lewis and Sierra walking toward the elevator

in the split second before the elevator doors closed.

Even though she hid herself in the crowd, Lewis’ calm gaze still landed on her somehow. She felt like

she was being targeted by a hunter. It was as if he wanted to see through her like he’d discovered an

escaping prey.

She could see that his calm gaze was fully laced with killing intent. Fortunately, the elevator

doors closed.

Quintin stared at her facial expression, which changed constantly, but he didn’t say anything due to the

crowd around them.

After leaving the cinema, Quintin finally took her hand and said, “The car is over here.”

Josephine glanced at him absentmindedly and pursed her lips without saying a word. And so, Quintin

led her to the parking lot, and they got into his car.

He didn’t rush to drive off. Instead, he kept staring at the rearview mirror, waiting for Lewis and Sierra to

come out. They stayed for quite a while but didn’t see him or Sierra.

Finally, Quintin asked with a sigh, “Josephine… Isn’t Lewis your brother?”

Josephine nodded, looking at him guiltily as she gestured, “I’m sorry.”

As Lewis didn’t want others to know about their relationship, Josephine never mentioned her

connection with him when they were outside. This was unlike Sierra, who wished for everyone in the

world to know about her relationship with Lewis.

Quintin said, “It’s okay. I’m not blaming you. I’m just surprised.”

Josephine pursed her lips and gestured, “Thank you.”

She had a calm expression, without any guilt or nervousness, because she considered Quintin a

friend and didn’t feel that her relationship with Lewis was something to be ashamed of. On the contrary,

Lewis was the one who was ashamed of her.

Quintin stared at her for a while. She was too calm, so calm that it got on Quintin’s nerves slightly.

“It’s okay. It’s not a big deal. Seriously, did you really get divorced from him? Did you get the divorce

certificate?”

That was what he cared about the most.

Josephine nodded and gestured, “Yes, we got divorced, and I have the divorce certificate.”

Quintin’s tense expression finally relaxed a bit, and he grinned. “Can I ask why you got divorced? Is it

because of Sierra?”

He felt that was the most probable reason. Josephine lowered her gaze, and her head began to hurt

again. She closed her eyes helplessly and shook her head. Honestly, she didn’t know why she and

Lewis divorced. The possibility of Sierra being the reason was very high. After all, he liked Sierra so

much. He would want to give her a home in the end.

Quintin thought she didn’t want to talk about it, so he changed the topic by saying, “Alright then, I’m

done asking. Where do you want to go now? Should I take you back home? Or maybe Do you want to

see the puppies? I mentioned last time that I’d get you one. I have a puppy for

you. I spent many days to select the right one for you. I chose one that is cute and obedient. You’ll

definitely like it.”

Josephine turned her head and glanced at him, taking in his bright and radiant smile. It reminded her of

the emptiness and darkness in that room.

She gestured, “I want to go see the puppies.”

Upon hearing that, Quintin’s smile grew even brighter. He nodded vigorously and said, ” Alright, let’s go

to the shelter!”

With that said, he started the car and reversed out of the parking lot. Maneuvering the steering wheel

skillfully, Quintin drove out of the car park.

Just as he turned to look at the rearview mirror, he saw that Lewis and Sierra had come out.

Sierra was holding onto Lewis’ arm. Cold winds welcomed them as soon as they stepped outside,

causing Sierra to shiver involuntarily, Sierra shivered and muttered, “This is strange. Did the

temperature drop again today? It’s so cold.”

After she said that, she looked up and noticed Lewis gazing in a certain direction, his eyes dim and

obscure. Sierra followed his gaze, only to see the exhaust fumes coming from Quintin’s

car.

She held Lewis’ arm and asked coquettishly, “Lewis, did you really divorce Josephine?”

Lewis withdrew his gaze and gave her a sideways glance. His expression was unexpectedly cold

and distant.

Sierra wasn’t willing to give up asking about it. “Did you actually get divorced or not?”

Then, an unmistakable expression of joy and excitement took over her features. “Did your divorce her

to marry me? I knew it! Sooner or later, you would marry me.”
