Chapter 316 You Look Hideous
Down on one knee, Lewis clutched his chest as blood trickled from his mouth onto the white
deck.
Kiran came closer, the knife in his hand an eyesore. “I had to go through so much trouble just to end
your life.” Kiran grabbed Lewis by his collar and stared frostily at him.
The yacht operator kept looking back at them, feeling anxious when he saw Lewis in a pinch.
Lewis saw Kiran’s menacing expression and burst out laughing, causing more blood to stream down
his chin. “Kiran, you look hideous.”
His words failed to provoke Kiran. Kiran smirked and said, “Don’t worry. You’ll look uglier than me in a
moment. I’ll dismember your torso and feed it to the fishes.”
He had barely finished speaking when Lewis suddenly grasped his wrist and gripped hard.
Kiran frowned. He thrust Lewis aside, raised his knife, and stabbed at Lewis’ neck.
Lewis rolled to dodge his attack. Then, he caught hold of a stool and smashed it at Kiran.
Kiran never expected him to retaliate. He subconsciously raised his arm to shield himself.
With a loud thud, the stool struck Kiran’s arm and shattered into pieces, forcing Kiran a few steps back.
The impact from the hit was strong; his arm grew numb.
Three feet apart, both men were disheveled. The sea breeze ruffled their hair, and their coats flapped
in the wind.
Lewis took off his trench coat, leaving on only a black shirt. He raised his hand and wiped the blood off
the corner of his mouth, his frosty eyes fixed on Kiran.
Kiran also unbuttoned his suit and tightened his grip on his knife.
Meanwhile, Josephine woke up on the deck. In a daze, she opened her eyes. The first thing her senses
perceived was the smell of blood. Then, she saw the two men confronting each other
before her.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShe tried to get up but fell back down, exhausted.
At the same time, Kiran pounced at Lewis, knife in hand. His eyes were savage, and his actions
brutal.
He had only one thought in his mind, and it was to kill Lewis!
Although injured, Lewis was far from being at Kiran’s mercy. They exchanged a few blows.
However, Kiran had a knife. Dodging him most of the time, Lewis waited for the opportunity
to land a fatal blow.
Josephine watched them attack each other, terrified. Panic grew in her when she saw the blood. on the
corners of Lewis’ mouth.
She tried to rise to her feet but failed at each attempt.
It never crossed Kiran’s mind that Lewis could endure his blows though he was heavily injured.
Gradually, Kiran grew impatient.
His strikes were lethal, but Lewis would dodge every single one of them.
Therefore, Kiran changed his methods. He knew where Lewis’ injuries were, so he focused his attacks
on those spots instead of trying to kill Lewis with a single blow.
Indeed, Lewis started to falter and was cornered to the edge.
Without hesitating, Kiran aimed for his neck.
Lewis leaned back and toppled into the ocean.
Josephine witnessed his fall, and her eyes slowly widened.
She opened her mouth and took a mouthful of sea breeze. However, the grief and dread within pushed
through the sea breeze and formed a word, “Louie!”
The moment she yelled his name, Lewis suddenly raised his hand and grabbed Kiran’s wrist.
Kiran was stunned momentarily. Before he could react, Lewis had already dragged him into the sea
and hopped onboard the yacht, using him as leverage.
Kiran reacted swiftly, too; realizing he was falling into the sea, he hooked onto the yacht’s edge with the
tip of his shoes. Then, pushing against the bottom of the yacht with his arms, he flipped and rolled back
onto the yacht.
With that movement, he came to face Josephine.
Suddenly, Kiran smiled. Grabbing his knife, he darted at Josephine and swung it at her chest.
Josephine watched the knife come closer, and her pupils contracted. Her heart almost stopped beating,
and her mind went blank
Intuitively, she closed her eyes.
“Stab!” She heard the sound of the knife penetrating flesh as blood splurted all over her face.
But she didn’t feel any pain.
She slowly opened her eyes and saw Lewis’ enlarged face before her.
He was sprawled over her, blood dripping from his mouth to her forehead, flowing all the way into her
eyes.
Her vision reddened.
Mouth gaping, blood and tears streamed out of Josephine’s eyes.
Kiran smiled. Indeed, attacking Josephine yielded faster results than going after Lewis. “To think he
cares for her to such a great extent.” His tone was indistinguishable. It was hard to say if he meant that
mockingly or if it was a mere exclamation.
He removed the knife from Lewis’ back. Lewis hugged Josephine in a tight embrace, his face. writhing
in pain.
Josephine looked up and saw Kiran was about to stab Lewis for the second time. She shook her head
vigorously. “No… No!”
“Don’t be afraid. Take a nap, and you won’t remember a thing when you wake up.” Lewis lay in her
arms limply, his cheek right beside her ear. His feeble voice sounded endearing, but the words he said
ripped Josephine’s heart into pieces.
Kiran was about to end their lives when he felt a sudden pain in his back.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmHe staggered and abruptly swiveled.
It was the yacht operator. He had a knife, too, and had used it to stab Kiran’s back.
He dared not let go of the wheel when he steered the yacht, afraid they would collide with the obstacles
around them.
But he couldn’t care less now that it was a matter of life and death.
Kiran’s eyes glinted menacingly. This guy, who dared attack him, deserved to die more than Lewis, who
was barely breathing.
Hence, he switched targets and chose to attack this man.
The yacht operator was obviously not a match for Kiran. Kiran managed to slash him a few times
before long.
There was no comparison-Lewis could almost take Kiran down even though he was severely injured,
but the operator was like a defenseless child when he faced Kiran.
The yacht operator was losing and came to the edge of the yacht.
Kiran stabbed his heart. The man’s eyes widened, staring right at Kiran.
As though trying to vent his anger, Kiran twisted his knife and induced a shriek from the man.
The next moment, the operator reached up with difficulty and grabbed Kiran’s wrist with all his might.
Kiran’s eyes flickered.
Suddenly, the man fell backward into the sea, his grip around Kiran’s wrist tightening as he
3/4
dragged him down.
Kiran never expected the man to risk his life only to take him down.
This man must have undergone training and brainwashing-he couldn’t be an average mercenary. He
seemed more like a trained desperado.
With a splash, both fell into the sea.
The yacht sped away, leaving both behind.
Josephine could finally heave a sigh of relief. She held Lewis’ face and called him with a raspy voice,
“L-Louie…”
Lewis lay in her arms, motionless.
The only sounds in her cars were the roaring wind and whir of the yacht.
