Chapter 83 I’ll Help You Remember
Josephine widened her eyes and stared at the figure, sizing him up.
It was Seth, and he was wearing a faint smile on his face.
Josephine never would have guessed that the person who tied her up was him. She continued to
struggle but to no avail. The ropes bound her hands and feet, leaving her with no way to communicate
except through her eyes.
Seth approached her, bending down slightly and fixing his gaze on Josephine. “Josephine, you look
shocked,” he mocked. “Well, I suppose no one would have expected it to be me. I just wonder if Lewis
will be able to figure it out,” he added softly as if he was casually chatting with her.
Josephine was at a loss as she stared straight at Seth in confusion.
His smile deepened as he curled his lips and asked, “You want to know why I brought you here and
why I kidnapped you, right?”
Josephine pressed her lips together, refusing to speak. It was the most perplexing thing for her at that
moment.
Seth leaned in and grazed her cheek with his frigid finger. Josephine shuddered and instinctively pulled
away.
“Do you honestly not recall anything?” Seth muttered to himself, his eyes momentarily glazing over.
Josephine felt a glimmer of confusion wash over her.
Suddenly, Seth’s finger traveled down to her chin, tilting her face up to meet his looks like you need a
little assistance,” he said with a sinister grin.
eyes.
“It

and she cried out in agony. Tears streamed down her face, falling onto Seth’s hand and leaving a wet
trail behind.
As she tried to focus on the cruel smile in front of her, Josephine could see the icy glint in his eyes. His
features were handsome, but the way he had just manhandled her made him seem like a monster.
Before Josephine could recover from the pain, he forcefully twisted his wrist, causing her and the chair
to fall to the floor. Her head hit the floor hard. The pain was unbearable, and her vision was starting to
black out.
She shut her eyes and tried to scream, but her voice was weak and feeble, barely audible above the
ringing in her ears.
Seth grabbed her hair and lifted her head up again. “It doesn’t matter if you forget; I’ll help you
remember,” Seth said in a gentle voice.
They only served to send a chill down Josephine’s spine. She was filled with a sense of dread. She
could feel the coldness seeping into her bones, and her limbs felt numb and heavy. After struggling to
open her eyes, she stared at the man in front of her.
Just as she thought, Seth was a wolf in sheep’s clothing all along!
Seth had been part of the Alvarez family for two years, and everyone thought he was a gentle and
humble man. But Josephine’s intuition had told her otherwise, and now she was face-to- face with the
wolf himself.
She wanted to talk to Seth and struggled harder, but it was no use.
Seth wasn’t interested in talking to her. He only wanted to torture her. With a cruel smirk, Seth seized a
handful of Josephine’s hair and yanked her to her feet.
The pain was excruciating, and she gasped for air, feeling like she was being strangled. When she
finally managed to sit up, Seth let go of her. She saw that Seth had pulled out a clump of her hair.
Josephine had always been wary of Seth, but now, she was truly terrified of him. She tried to back
away, but the chair nearly toppled over, and she was forced to stay put, lowering her head and
trembling with fear.
Seth grabbed Josephine’s chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. “Do you remember anything?”
Tears filled her eyes as she wracked her brain, trying to recall all that had transpired over the years.
She had no idea what he wanted her to remember or why he was doing this. Josephine looked at him
with pleading eyes, hoping for some kind of explanation.
However, Seth just smiled, his eyes betraying a sinister amusement. “I’m not going to tell you. If you
remember, you wouldn’t be looking at me like that.”
Josephine tried to speak, but Seth leaned in closer before she could utter a word. Her eyelids. fluttered
as she instinctively pulled back, but he grabbed her face, holding her in place. Their noses touched,
their breaths mingling in the air between them.
It was a moment of intense intimacy and ambiguity.
Josephine froze, unsure of what to do or say.
Finally, Seth broke the silence. “You know, Josephine, you deserve to die.”
Josephine’s eyes met Seth’s with a jolt, causing her heart to pound. But before she could even react,
he violently pushed her out of the chair, causing her to crash again on the floor.
She felt every bone in her body jar with the impact, and the pain was so intense that she could not
even cry out. Large droplets of sweat cascaded down her face as she lay curled up on the
ground, her skin deathly pale.
Nobody knew how much pain she was feeling. She wasn’t able to scream at all.
Seth’s voice faded into the distance as he left the room, leaving her alone in her agony. Her wrists and
ankles were raw from the bounding ropes that were stained with her own blood.
Josephine struggled to open her eyes; her vision was clouded with pain as she looked at the door

hurting more.
She couldn’t understand Lewis, nor could she make sense of Seth’s actions.
Lewis desired nothing more than to keep Josephine away from the world and turn her into a docile pet,
but he also acted cold and cruel toward her with no intention of divorce. Meanwhile, Seth had dragged
her to this unfamiliar place and was now forcing her to recall memories she didn’t even know existed.
Exhaustion crept over her like a thick fog, and Josephine closed her eyes in despair. It was as if the
entire world was against her.
Was it because she could not speak? That was her final thought before she succumbed to
unconsciousness.
As night fell, Lewis sat alone in the living room, surrounded by scraps of the torn divorce agreement.
In the past, every time he tore up the papers, she would quietly remain by his side. But this time was
different. The scraps of paper had littered the ground for an entire day, yet there was still no sign of the
mute girl.
Conrad kept pacing at the door, his heart pounding in his chest. He could not bring himself to step
inside the mansion. After a whole day of searching, there was still no sign of Josephine.
Avery had vanished into a surveillance blind spot, and there was no trace of them after that. Elysium
was vast, and Josephine didn’t own a phone or have an internet connection; searching for them would
be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Conrad peered into the dark living room through the doorway, but he could vaguely see Lewis’ figure
on the couch in the distance. He was about to turn away when a car screeched to a halt outside the
mansion.
Tyler jumped out of the car and rushed over. “How is it going? Do you have any lead?” he asked in a
low voice.
