Chapter 137
“Can you just leave?” Anastasia looked at Felicia and spoke again. “Both of you, just go.”
Alastor grabbed Anastasia’s hand, saying, “Anastasia, I’ll drive you home.”
“What about her?” Anastasia pointed to Felicia.
“It’s not easy to get a cab here, and she’s pregnant…” Alastor wanted to suggest that they first send
Felicia back and then have a proper talk with Anastasia.
Anastasia felt numb and smiled faintly at Felicia. “Goodbye”
Alastor was getting angry. “Anastasia! Get in the car. Don’t make me say it again.”
Anastasia took two steps, then halted and looked back at Alastor.
Felicia’s face turned dark with anger, and she turned around to get into the passenger seat next to
Alastor.
Anastasia stood still, looking at Alastor.
She just stared at him and didn’t say anything.
But Alastor did not intend to ask Felicia to move to the back. “Anastasia, she gets car sick, and her
morning sickness has been severe recently…”
Since Felicia was experiencing morning sickness, she sat in the front while Anastasia was asked to sit
in the back.

Anastasia stood there without any intention of getting into the car. She clenched her fingers slowly.
Felicia glanced at Anastasia provocatively, snorted, got in the car, and closed the door.
Alastor looked at Anastasia and frowned when he saw she wasn’t getting into the car. He said, “She
lives nearby. I’ll drop her off and come back to pick you up. Wait for me here.”
It was winter. Even though Hork wasn’t cold, it still made Anastasia stand in the chilly wind waiting for
his return. Only Alastor could come up with such an idea.
Since she was no longer pregnant now, he had to take care of Felicia.
Besides, Felicia was pregnant with his child.
Anastasia laughed sarcastically and looked up at the dark sky.
Alastor had said he didn’t like children.
However, he still took care of Felicia meticulously.
“Do you hear me? Wait for me here. I’ll be back soon.” Alastor was anxious and regretted not asking
his assistant to send Felicia back.
Anastasia didn’t say anything. She didn’t agree or refuse him.
Alastor assumed Anastasia had agreed. After all, Anastasia was always obedient.
Anastasia stood in place, watching Alastor’s car drive away.
She suddenly thought of the winter one year ago when it had been snowing heavily in Hork, and she
was trapped at the bus stop outside the mall. At that moment, she had considered calling Alastor,
thinking he might have passed by on his way home.
Alastor had said he would have arrived in about ten minutes, but Anastasia had waited at the bus stop
for over an hour. If Alastor had said he was busy and couldn’t come, Anastasia could have taken a taxi
back herself.
However, since Alastor hadn’t said anything, Anastasia hadn’t dared to leave.
She had been afraid that Alastor would have come for nothing if she had left.
She had called Alastor several times, but he hadn’t answered.
Later, Alastor explained that his employee had fallen sick, and he had to send them to the hospital.
There had been a traffic jam on his way.
Back then, Anastasia hadn’t dwelled on it much. She had believed it was acceptable to endure the cold
for over an hour, considering the urgency of taking the sick employee to the hospital.
Now, she realized how foolish she had been.
It was so ridiculous that it scared her.
Anastasia realized that the one who had fallen sick and had gone to the hospital that day had been
Felicia.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmAlastor had never been one to meddle in others’ affairs. Even if an employee got sick, he would have
his assistant send the employee to the hospital instead of himself.
She had been too naive.
If Felicia hadn’t taken the initiative to expose this relationship, she wouldn’t have known that Alastor
had been with Felicia for so long.
She wouldn’t have known Felicia was his first girlfriend and that he had hidden the latter in his office.
Anastasia took a deep breath and called Jason. “Jason, where are you?”
“I’ve just finished the last order and was about to call you.” Jason was smiling as if he was glad that
they shared some form of telepathy.
When he noticed Anastasia didn’t speak, Jason uttered, “I’ll be right back. What do you want to eat?
I’m at Hofcaster Food Street. There are so many delicious foods in the night market. Let me buy some
for you.”
“What a coincidence. I’m also nearby. I’m at the police station in the university town,” Anastasia said.
On the other end of the phone, Jason was silent.
Anastasia picked up her phone and glanced at it without hanging up.
“Wait for me there.”
Jason didn’t hang up, but Anastasia knew that he was in a hurry.
At that moment, Anastasia suddenly understood that this was likely the difference between love and
indifference, between caring and not caring.
