'Wait… She is going to stay here?' Isaac thought to himself as he saw Khione taking a comfortable position on the couch, crossing her legs, leaning further into the soft backrest, and resting the book on her soft lap.
As Khione slowly skimmed through the pages, she began tapping her finger against the cover. The corner of her lip curved up a few degrees, and her silverish eyes showed a tinge of amusement.
Isaac slowly took a book with a leather cover from the drawer and placed it on top of the counter. Then, he returned to the page where he left off and began reading the text inside his mind.
However, only a few sentences later, a cold wind breezed past him, and an indifferent voice followed.
''Isaac… That was your name, wasn't it?'' Khione's cold eyes peeked past the book and studied Isaac's figure very thoroughly.
Isaac winced and quickly organized his thoughts before replying, ''No… It's actually Wraith.''
Khione's lips curved up even further, flashing a beautiful smile, ''Are you sure it actually isn't Isaac2 or Isaac3?''
''Ahem…'' Isaac cleared his throat while caressing his itching neck, ''No… Only Wraith, ahem…''
''Right…'' Khione, with an amused smile, turned her gaze back to the book. The shimmer of light shone through the window and caused her beautiful white hair to glisten.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtTaking a strand of her hair and winding it around her delicate ear, she began reading.
The time slowly passed, and the crowd outside the story was growing bigger. The curtains were wide open, and everyone could see the beautiful Goddess, relaxing on the couch, reading with her beautiful face crunched with concentration.
There were several people already kneeling on the stone-paved ground, touching it with their foreheads and repeating the movement hundreds of times.
It didn't take long for the whole neighborhood to hear about Khione's surprise visit to the new bookstore. That caused news to spread through the Priesthood, and more people rushed there to pray.
The Priests and Priestesses were shocked to hear such news but didn't go there. They knew that disturbing whatever Goddess was doing could cause a stroke of bad luck to loom over them.
After half an hour, Khione ripped her gaze away from the book and softly closed it. She returned it to the bookshelf and said softly,
''I am done reading… I might come back in the future… To rent more books.'' As she left and the door was further opened, a loud chorus of prayers reverberated inside the store and echoed into Isaac's ears.
Isaac's tense muscles finally relaxed, and he closed the book, ''Whew… She was definitely angry at me...''
His back was drenched, dripping liquids falling down his lower back and staining the chair below.
After glancing outside, he could see the endless group of people still gathered. Isaac walked towards the door, slightly opened it, and extended his hand out of the store.
Then, he flipped the sign until it said closed and locked the door before closing.
Isaac went to the lanterns that were mounted on the walls. He flicked the switch and watched as the soft glow disappeared and the first floor turned dark.
He returned to the counter, grabbed several stacks of papers, and took fountain pens and pencils from the drawer. Then, he returned to his room situated on the second floor.
Isaac placed everything on his arms on the wooden desk and opened the curtains slightly. A soft glow of moonlight peeked through the window and illuminated the whole desk.
Then, Isaac went to fetch a gas lamp, and once he found one from the storage room, he returned to his bedroom, placed it on the desk, and flicked the switch on.
Soon, warm dancing lights overlapped the whole room and caused the previous pitch darkness to slowly get torn apart.
Isaac got seated on the chair and placed the stacks of papers into smaller piles. After there were six smaller stacks in front of him, he put half of them into the drawer and moved the rest slightly aside.
Then, he took a fountain pen, dipped it in the black ink that was already found on the desk, and grabbed the first paper from the stacks.
As the fountain pen hovered above the paper, Isaac thought aloud, ''What to write… I wrote already enough real-world stories… I would now like to write my own story…''
The Novelist sub-class allowed Isaac to go way beyond his writing talent and reach the secret place in his brain that was unknown even to him. There, endless waves and storms of imagination lashed out and filled his mind.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmSeveral scenes played on his mind. Some caused goosebumps around Isaac's skin, some were terrifying, and some were blood-pumping with excitement running through his veins.
As the imagination ran wild, endless rows of words appeared on Isaac's mind.
The fountain pen slowly began moving across the paper, and rows of words appeared. Isaac's eyes turned dull, and his face emotionless. Afterward, the speed of writing increased explosively.
As the moon started slowly disappearing, the blue sky and glowing yellow sphere appeared. It was again morning with the gas lamp almost drained from the gas.
Only a flicker of small candlelight was seen inside, and it was a miracle that it hadn't died out yet.
''Haahhh…'' Then, Isaac's eyelids fluttered, and he was tossed out of the weird state of enlightenment. Beads of cold sweat poured down his skin. His eyes showed his confusion as he saw the blue sky, fire barely flickering, and the busy streets.
''How… long did I write?'' Isaac dropped his gaze and saw almost two hundred pages written!
His eyes shook, and he started re-reading the pages. More and more shock appeared as the scenes got tenser and more vivid.
''I… Wrote this?'' Isaac's hands shook, and he dropped the papers back to the desk.
Knock, knock!
Knock! Knock! Knock!
Several strong-sounding knocks echoed throughout the house. Isaac saw from the window that the entrance was bustling, and the store should have opened ten minutes ago.
He quickly hid the written papers in the drawer, placed the fountain pen, and pencils on the cupboard, and ran to the first floor.
