Chapter 214
Natalle watched Rosie get into the car and then withdrew her gaze.
She was about to ask Miller what was up when a car lurking in the shadows nearby rolled toward them and came
to a stop.
Bagot emerged from the driver's side, approached Natalie with a manila folder, and murmured, “Miss Natalie, we
need your immediate attention and signature on several spots in these documents.”
Natalie had no clue what it was about. She opened the folder to find it was a deed transfer form.
Her residence, formerly registered at the old Wright family estate, would be transferred to Majestic Meadows
Manor.
Natalie had been so busy the past few days that she'd scarcely found tto grab a bite, so Bagot had delayed
seeking her out.
Staring at the words “Majestic Meadows Manor,” Natalie fell into silence.
“What's Madelyn'’s take on this?” Natalie looked up at Bagot.

“Mr. Howard mentioned that the house has nothing to do with Ms. Harris. It’s not her place to comment,” Bagot
relayed Brian's words to Natalie verbatim.
“I won't sign,” Natalie said with a smile.
If she transferred her residence to a property under Brian's name, it would only complicate matters further if
they parted ways.
“Mr. Howard said if you refused to sign here, you could just sign in the car,” Bagot continued softly, eyes
downcast.
“He’s back?” Natalie's gaze shifted to the car.
“Yes.”
When Natalie got into the car, Brian was still in a meeting. She was well accustomed to his constant work. She
closed the door gently and sat beside him, gazing out the window. There was no way she was signing that
document, not by any stretch.
Brian glanced at the folder on the seat, unsurprised by her disobedience.
After sitting in the car for a while, Natalie noticed Brian's phone screen light up with a message from Madelyn.
She inadvertently caught a glimpse of a few words. [Brian, you'll ctonight, right?]
[When are you coming over? I'm waiting for you.]
Brian picked up his phone and glanced at it.

Chapter 214
Natalie quickly averted her gaze, feeling an inexplicable irritation.
Despite his packed schedule, he still made tto arrange a meet-up with Madelyn.
Natalie thought it would be better for everyone if she just returned to the studio.
Bagot seemed to be driving eastward, not toward the Morales family estate nor back to Majestic Meadows
Manor.
“I'm tired,” she murmured to Brian after ssilence, her voice tinged with fatigue. All she wanted was to
collapse into bed, too weary to take off her makeup. She wondered where he was taking her.

Brian seemed not to hear her, and Natalie's irritation grew. She raised her voice slightly, “I want to sleep.” She
was deliberately making trouble.
Brian lifted his eyelids to glance at her and pointed to his earphones, asking indifferently, “Afraid people won't
know I'm with you?”
Natalie was at a loss for words.
“Just twenty more minutes and we'll be there. Hang in there.” Brian continued.
Natalie was so exasperated that she wanted to throw his laptop out the window and hail a cab back to the
studio, and she had the means to do it.
But she couldn't bear to wait another twenty minutes, let alone one. Her back was aching fiercely.
Seeing her impatience, Brian reached into a compartment and pulled out something, murmuring again, “Come
here.”
Natalie had no intention of obliging him.
But just sitting still was proving too much for her aching back. After a short standoff, she scooted closer, turned
her back to Brian, and propped a pillow under her waist. She sprawled across two-thirds of the seat.
She was exhausted.
Brian looked down at the delicate curve of her waist, a soft silhouette in the dim light of the car.
