Maia knew that Tess was doing what she thought was best for Maia. However, this was not fair

to Hope.

“I’ve overheard your conversations. Hope had never asked me for favors, nor has she told me about

her contract dispute.”

“Never? Then why would there be such news all over the internet?” Tess was questioned in surprise.

“They’re all just tabloid rumors. Starlight Entertainment has never contacted Hope privately, nor did we

offer to settle her contract dispute. You should stop reading that nonsense. They’re all fake!”

Hope had never brought up the issue of her contract dispute with Maia. Maia had found out about this

through Hope’s manager. Maia had planned to help Hope with her problem, but before she could take

action, the tabloids had already spread the news around.

“It doesn’t matter. I’m just glad that they’re all fake! However, I would still have to remind her of the

horrible things her mother had done to us!” Tess’s words were sharp and hurtful.

“Have you forgotten how she treated you and Errol? Especially on that rainy day? I could never forget

that!”

“I’m so sorry.” Hope apologized as she struggled to stand upright. “I’m truly sorry for everything my

mother has done. When I’m discharged, I would like to visit Aunt Rosa’s grave.

“We don’t need your apology or for you to tarnish my sister’s grave!” Tess stomped off in a fit.

Hope did not know what else she could do aside from expressing her apology over and over again.

As Maia glanced at Hope, she could not help but feel bad. She left to chase after Tess.

“If this had happened to you, how would you have taken in all this negative information? What had she

done to deserve all of this?”

family? It’s not fair.”

“Maia, life isn’t fair! Indeed, we can’t choose who our parents are, but Hope would still have to bear the

burden of her mother’s mistakes since she is Yvette’s daughter.‘

“Let’s not continue fighting. I’m going back to the winery now. You should return to the office too. As

“I’m here to see Hope as well. She would be able to leave the hospital in two days! By the way, the

“Unfortunately, she’ll have to go back on a diet once she has fully recovered,” Wesley added helplessly.
