Chapter 111 I Missed You So Much
He started jogging along and asked Maia, “I realized that you were a little distracted during the night
segment, Maia. What’s the matter?”
“Was I?”
“Definitely,” Aiken said.
“Perhaps I was too worn out.” Maia yawned.
“That’s possible. You are always under a lot of stress as CEO of Starlight Entertainment. You might feel
a little tired now that you’ve let your hair down. I think my dad will love this place.”
“Jordan?”
“Yeah. He’s hot–headed. He should spend some time in Stonebrooke and relax! The world is so huge.
Is it appropriate for someone as old as him to be this temperamental?”
Maia laughed at what Aiken said, “You better watch out. Jordan’s going to kick your ass if he knows
what you said!”
“Hehe. We’re so far from him. He can’t do anything to me! Hahaha!”
Aiken looked free as a bird. He might be acting all cocky now, but he’d chicken out the
moment he was in front of Jordan.
The sky was completely dark when they reached Maia’s homestay. Stonebrooke looked uniquely
beautiful under the street lights.
“I’m heading in. You should rest earlier. We have to cover the rest of the first episode

Aiken called out for Maia as she was about to enter. “Maia!”
“What’s wrong?”
“Did Cedric cause you any trouble…?”
Maia was taken aback, but she smiled and said, “Not really. As I don’t take it to heart.”
“Exactly. Let history stay in the past. We should welcome the bright future!” Aiken gave Maia a tiny red
flower. “This is for you, my dear Maia.”
She stared at him. For a moment, it felt as though she was a kindergarten student. The teacher just
rewarded her with a flower because she did well.
“Stonebrooke was so wonderful, I couldn’t bring myself to pluck a flower from it. So, I snuck this little
guy out when they were decorating the stage today. I’m glad it wasn’t spoiled!”

“Thank you.” Maia said, “You’re too kind, Aiken. I’ll gladly take the flower.”
“Actually, this flower was from your company anyway…‘

Maia looked at him before looking at the flower again. “The flower belonged to my company.
You work at my company, too. In a way, you gave the flower to me.”
“You’re better at this than me, Maia!” Aiken looked at Maia excitedly. “Well, you work for Starlight
Entertainment, too. So, do you belong to me as well?”
Maia took her phone out and pretended to make a call. “Hello? Is this Jordan? Aiken just said—
“Eeek! Forgive me, Maia! I’ll work for Starlight Entertainment when my contract ends! I’ll work like a dog
for you! Just please have mercy on me!”
Aiken was terrified of Jordan. It was the kind of fear a prey experienced when a predator was
around. After all, Jordan was his father.
Maia laughed, “I was fooling with you. I didn’t really call him.”
“Maia! Why, you…” Aiken let out a sigh of relief and groaned, “It’s not easy being me!”
His quirkiness amused Maia. “You won the Best Actor, Aiken. Could you get a hold of yourself?”
“Alright. Okay!” Aiken smacked his cheeks lightly, then stretched.
He gestured dramatically, “This way, Maia. Have a good rest!”
She laughed uncontrollably. “I now announce the next winner for Best Actor. Aiken Cantrell!”
“You have my thanks, Maia!”
“You’re welcome.” Maia waved at Aiken and entered.
There were cameras in the hallway. Maia swiped her room card and went in. It was pitch black. A ray of
light seeped into her room through a crack in the curtains, but she still couldn’t make out anything in
there.
Then she caught a strong whiff of alcohol. She was puzzled and slid the rooin card into the slot
immediately.
Something brushed past her feet and thudded heavily just before the lights came on!
When the lights came on, Maia saw Cedric slumped on the couch. There were liquor bottles all around
him. Maia was exposed to alcohol throughout her childhood. The smells alone told her they were all
strong liquors.
Baz was serious. Cedric drank as if his life depended on it.

Maia wasn’t sure if he was trying to get her sympathy. He was, however, passed out in her room. If
something happened to him, she would not be able to stay out of it.
“Cedric.” She shook him gently. “Wake up, Cedric. You shouldn’t have been drinking in my room. Go
back to yours.”
Maia examined the liquor bottles on the floor and concluded that he had not left her room
since he arrived.
Cedric opened his eyes when he heard her voice. He pulled her into his arms when he saw her.
“I missed you so much.”
Since she was in the fire, he had many sleepless nights missing her. Perhaps it was the alcohol, but his
voice was a little hoarse. He sounded more profound and captivating.
Her mind went blank for a moment, and she could hear humming in her ears.
‘He had never talked like this. He’s Cedric… What made him say something like that? He must
be wasted.‘
“Let me go, Cedric! You’re drunk!”
“Let me hold you.”
He lowered his arms and rested his head on her shoulders. He looked a little vulnerable, which
was unusual for someone as self–centered as him.
Maia smiled. She thought it was hilarious that she’d feel like this. She pushed him but it was more
forceful than she intended. Cedric’s back hit the couch.
away,
He grunted as a result of the impact and stared at her darkly.
