Chapter 120 Prince Charmning
The kiss of life?
To hell with that! This jerk was just full of excuses!
“Who do you think you are? Prince Charming? Did you think you could swoop in like a hero and give
the kiss of life?”
He smiled and whispered in her ear seductively, “There’s more where that came from.”
Maia’s eyes widened as she looked at Cedric. She had never expected him to act so boldly.
“You jerk! How dare you!”
“You look cute when you’re mad, honey.”
“Asshole!” Maia was upset.
“I may be an asshole, but I’m yours and yours alone.”
“Huh?”
Maia couldn’t be bothered to talk to him any further. She looked away and waited for the police.
“Aren’t you curious to know how I found you?” He knew she was upset and that he couldn’t keep
teasing her. So, he decided to say something to pique her interest.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtMaia was indeed curious. However, she frowned and remained quiet when she recalled that he had
taken advantage of her earlier.
The police started questioning her shortly. “Can you please tell us what happened, Ms. Maia?”
“I was on my way back to my homestay when someone ambushed me and covered my mouth. When I
came to, I found myself in the abandoned warehouse. Zera was lying on the ground, not far from where
I was.”
“Were you able to see the kidnapper?”
Maia shook her head, “I didn’t get a good look, but I can be sure that the kidnapper was a man. I could
tell from his strength and his figure. He’s at least five foot nine.‘
That was the only thing she could be sure of before she passed out. The kidnapper had taken her from
behind, so she couldn’t make out his features.
The police turned to Cedric and asked, “What were you doing at the scene, Mr. Cedric?”
“My wife went missing. Do you expect me to stay put and do nothing?”

The police got Cedric’s side of the story, and said, “We’ll wait for the forensic report. Ms. Maia will be
cleared of suspicion once we have confirmation of Ms. Zera’s time of death.”
Maia understood. Still, she was innocent, so there was nothing to be scared of.
Cedric wasn’t a suspect at all. Security footage captured the time he left the homestay in Stonebrook.
Anyone with a brain could figure out that he did not have enough time to carry out the murder.
“Um…” Maia said, “How did you find me?”
He knew she would be curious about it. He rubbed her hair lovingly and said, “Like I said, the cat
helped.”
Maia was puzzled. The cat?
“Are you talking about the cat that appeared out of nowhere? The one I petted?” Maia asked.
He nodded, “Correct.
Then, she asked, “Cats can’t talk. How did you find me with its help?”
“The cat could be the murderer’s pet, after all.”
Maia nodded, agreeing with him. “It’s possible. There’s a collar on its neck. It’s also a pedigree cat, so it
must have an owner. Still, how are you so sure that it belonged to the culprit?”
“It might not belong to the culprit, but it must’ve come in contact with him.”
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmMaia was even more confused, “How could you be so sure?”
“The osmanthus are in full bloom now.”
Maia continued to stare at him, confused.
He smiled and said, “You need to go through the osmanthus garden to reach the warehouse.”
Maia realized he was right. They passed through an osmanthus garden when they descended
the hill!
“The doors were closed, but I caught the scent of osmanthus when I first woke up in the warehouse.
The culprit probably moved Zera there before kidnapping me. He passed through the osmanthus
garden several times, picking up the scent. The cat could’ve been his, or it came in contact with him
and got the scent on itself.”
“The cat is definitely his,” Cedric said.
If the cat merely came in contact with the culprit, then it would have been impossible for it to
get the scent on itself in such a short amount of time.
“Who was the cat’s owner?”
