The reporters searched for Cedric when they heard her. All of them rushed at him when they saw him.

Maia ran to Buck. The pain from wearing the high heels and her ankle wound were acting up again.

“You threw Cedric under the bus, Ms. Maia.‘ >>

Buck opened the backseat door before anyone noticed her. She slipped into the car swiftly, but she

didn’t count on seeing Hope in there.

“Are you alright, Maia?” Hope looked at Maia with worry in her eyes. She quickly gave her a warm

drink, saying, “I bought it a moment ago. Drink it while it’s still warm!”

Maia took a few sips, steadied her breathing, and asked, “What are you doing here?”

“Well…”

Buck spoke on her behalf, “Hope was very worried about you, Ms. Maia. She was adamant about

tagging along and picking you up.”

Maia was surprised. She did not think Hope would be worried about her.

“Thank you.” She smiled at Hope and raised her drink, thanking her.

Hope shook her head immediately. “I didn’t do much exactly. Buck bought it, actually. I–I merely gave it

to you.”

She had always been an honest lady.



“Isn’t that the same thing?” Maia teased her. Buck’s face turned red involuntarily.

“You had just touched down at Prismara. Are you making fun of Hope and me already, Ms. Maia? The

PR department is stressed out. They kept asking if we should suppress the news and take it off the

trending topic. You’re too calm at this, Ms. Maia.”

Maia shrugged. “What else can I do? The video was uploaded to the internet. There’s no point in crying

over spilled milk. Tell them to leave this alone. Let the public opinion run its course.”

It was such big news, How were they supposed to contain it?

She was sure Starlight Entertainment’s share price was going to drop. Maia was mentally prepared for

this. Come hell or high water, she would see this through.

“Am I supposed to attend any public events, Buck? You’ll have to cancel all of them.”

“The PR department thought the same too. Given the current circumstances, it’s better you

“That said…” Buck continued, “There’s a fashion show tomorrow that I can’t cancel. It was arranged

three months ago. It’s meant for high society, though. I guess it’s not exactly for the public.”

What he meant was that it was safe for her to attend this fashion show.

Maia nodded and asked, “Is it the 1s11 Fashion Show?”



“Exactly!” Buck answered. Only high society would attend it. It was as much a fashion show as it was a

purchase platform. Everything on the show was purchasable on the spot. They were all limited items,

too.

“Alright.”

Then, Buck asked again, “Should I send you back to Cloud Nine Residences or Ms. Tess’s place, Ms.

Maia?”

She frowned. She wasn’t sure how things were at her place. There could be reporters holing up there.

She couldn’t exactly go back to her aunt’s place, either. Otherwise, Tess would be so worried about her

and press her for information for the entire night.

“What about my place, Maia? The reporters had no idea about my place in Prismara. It’s safe.” “She’s

right, Ms. Maia. It looks like her place is your best bet now.”

Maia realized Buck spoke rather quickly. She cleared her throat. “Do you like now, Buck?” He shook his

head puzzlingly.

“You look like someone who’s secretly dating a celebrity.” Buck’s face turned red at that. The same

thing happened to Hope as well.

“What are you talking about, Maia?” Hope lowered her head. Her ears also started reddening.

Maia chuckled. Hope and Buck’s relationship was budding.

It was 9 p.m. when they arrived at Hope’s apartment.

“My friend, Daisy, has a studio. I’ll ask her to come over and do makeup for you tomorrow. You might

run into reporters if you go out there.”

Hope was in the industry as well. She was frequently pestered by reporters when she first shot to fame.

They’d lie in wait for her at all the studios she went to.

entire galaxy on it. There were colors flowing against the black area, but they were immersed

seamlessly in it at the same time. It looked mysterious.

“I think this gown really screams you!”

“Okay. I’ll take this.”

“What about heels? I think this black diamond heels looks cool! You’ll look spectacular after Daisy put

on a red lipstick for you.” Hope could just imagine how splendid Maia would look

tomorrow.

Looking at Hope’s theatrical facial expressions, Maia finally understood where the high ratings on her

television drama came from. She was just good at expressing herself.



“Okay. We’ll go with your ideas!”

Hope beamed, “I’m going to get in touch with Daisy and ask her to get everything ready!” With that,

Hope started dialing her friend.

Maia looked at her and chuckled. Hope retained her innocence despite the fact that she had spent a

long time in the entertainment industry. This proved how innocent she was in the first place.

Unfortunately, it was also the reason she was duped into signing an unfavorable contract.

“Here, eat something. Ms. Maia.” Buck served Maia a sandwich. Then, he gazed at Hope, who was

making a phone call on the balcony.

Maia ate the sandwich and looked at him casually. She yelled, “Hello? Earth to Buck Harvey!” “Why did

you call me by my full name out of nowhere, Ms. Maia?” Buck was a little confused.
